It also really depends on how big the Amiibo storage capacity is. I don't know, but you can store an amazing amount of data in just a few KB's.
To put it in perspective, the entirety of SMB3 for NES is just under 400 KB. Besides map data, that includes menus, graphics, sound, physics, etc. There are plenty of compression methods you could use to save tons of space.
I would still like a "Mario Maker" because not many people have access to the internet most of the time like myself. Having the option to share your levels offline as well as online will be a great idea.
Well at least we know Bowser is in the game. lol
I'm guessing between now and September they'll give us the ability to add extra rooms and whatnot for more complex levels. That way we can have some Boo houses and secret areas and boss rooms. (also Yoshi is in for those of you who missed it, check out GameXplain's latest Mario Maker video if you haven't)

Boss fights really need to happen. You can't have a Super Mario Bros game without boss fights.
True. Since we can make our own worlds, I hope we can make special rooms where the bosses can be such as the Koopalings. So far, we've only seen Bowser in an open area.

Question: Say if you publish your level online, can others edit it? I don't know much to anything about creating levels and sharing online. I assume they don't.

I'm assuming you'll have the option of allowing edits or not.

That depends if that Bowser we saw in the 30th Anniversary Trailer (assuming the whole thing was footage from a Mario Maker level) is a fake one, similar to how 8-4 in The Lost Level had the Bowser Impostors, then the real fight.
If so, you could have like 20 of them against Mario. Oh, the carnage... http://bit.ly/1GZdYrL
Or, as you said. A boss rush, with lots of Bowser Impostors.

Well I'm also hoping they'll add the Koopalings and even Boom Boom.

I can't wait to get this game. The only sad thing is if I get it day 1, there probably won't be many masterpieces, and my skills as a level creator are mediocre at best. Maybe they'll include some pre made levels for inspiration
I'm hoping someone can create a recreation of Vs. Super Mario Bros.
Not holding out much hope for something like a 1:1 recreation of many more modern titles like Super Mario Bros 3, but the earliest releases look like they should be within our grasp to create a reasonable facsimile.
Switching the original Super Mario Bros. to the different styles should also provide a fun twist on a classic, although there's some stuff there that we haven't been shown a way of reproducing here as of yet (Like the different paths in 8-4, for example).
But I'm assuming all the tools that we need to reproduce the original Super Mario Brothers are going to be here, since they surely realize that will be the first thing many people try to do.

I really don't see how they can get away from not doing so.
While everyone is going to be interested in some degree to this concept, some are going to be more interested in playing other's creations than they will be in creating them. So I suspect Nintendo will have everyone catered to, with at least a full 32 level Nintendo produced sidescroller present so someone can jump right in and start playing.
I believe that's what Sony's Little Big Planet franchise also does. Level creation is the focus, but they don't forget that it's a game and each one ships with a full fledged single player adventure that's ready to go.
