Simply put, Mario Kart 8 is amazing. It is polished, fun, charming and will always put a smile on your face. Sonic to me is awful. The controls are extremely sloppy and it is not as fun as Mario Kart 8. Granted it has all those transformation mechanics, it's still feels like a gigantic mess. The map is uninspiring and the layout is sometimes confusing. SASRT is a okay Kart game but Mario Kart 8 is at a league of it's own. Please do note that I only played the Wii U version and not on the other platforms.

However, the battle arena mode on Mario Kart 8 is nothing but a cruel joke. Nintendo better give us battle mode map DLC or I'm going to be seriously disappointed.

People who kept saying Mario Kart 8 is too easy obviously do not own the game OR did not played the game's online multiplayer (which is weird). If you really have the game and played online and still claim it to be too easy, please do post your online rankings.

They are both good games, but Mario Kart8 ulimatley has the edge, IMO.

I like the transformation, the level design, speed, and the fleshed out single player mode, but that's where the +s end.. Mario Kart has better/tighter controls, better motion controls, better online, better graphics, more kart options, etc.

Sonic Racing is still better in some ways, but Mario Kart 8 is overall better, IMO.

Mario Kart 8 is better for the soundtrack alone.

Sonic Racing is SOOOOOOOOO overrated! It's like Mariokart 7.5 and it brings very little to the table when it comes to innovation or anything special. Mariokart 8 is so much better.

I haven't played the second game of sonic all stars. I do own however on xbox 360 all stars 1 and i do love it. But it's not near Mario Kart quality. But the game is ok and while waiting for a new Mario Kart game Sonic All Stars is for you

It's like Crash Team Racing. OVERRATED! They are clones of Mariokart.

Say whatever you want about Sonic all-star racing, at least there's no 'Blue Nile Gold Sonic'

Mario Kart is overrated it rewards luck far too much to make it have any point in playing it.

Plus it is mind numbingly dull every track is exactly the same for three laps.

Even the Rainbow Road's should be about 1/4 of the width and have no sides at all.

The best players I basically never win against them which is how it should be.

SART is a worthy game. Enjoyed it last summer a lot. The Aircraft carrier and actually the first four tracks are outstanding. Put it away for a while and then started playing it again back in March/April or so. I'll start playing it again after I get burned out on MK8. I'm 47 hours into it- MK7 stayed fresh for me well into the hundred hour range. So I guess by the end of the summer I'll have interest in SART.

MK8 is smoother and more polished, but I do like the fact that the cars are more customized- seems like there's a bigger difference in the selections. I'd imagine it's around $20 or less on Amazon, so it's well worth the price now.

I prefer Mario Kart 8. Mainly because Sonic Transformed's flying sections were rubbish. The flying section's drifting in particular was absolutely horrendous and absolutely spoiled the feature for me.

Do you just exist to have the most unpopular disagreeable gaming opinions ever? I swear you do.

Wow, that is a really good question. Both are awesome. I would say that even though they are kart racers, they are pretty darn different. Sonic has a more fleshed-out single player mode, but Mario just has that "bouncy" addictive quality to it somehow. Mario is definitely more tactile in its feedback if that makes sense, while sometimes Sonic can feel floaty and a bit disconnected from the controls. I love both very much, though.

It's called trolling.

Anyway, SASRT was fun for a while, but it can't compare to Mario Kart 8. The bulk of its singleplayer consisted of repetitive challenges, it seemed like one could only join a group online if they were inbetween races (which is about 1/10th of the time) and the game was all-around unstable. I encountered a lot of collision glitches, and the game has also frozen several times.

SART can't even compete with MK8. Decent game, but MK8 trounces it in just about every category. Better controls, MUCH better music, better online play, better local mp, better battle mode, better track designs, etc. Only area where SART is possibly better is in the roster.

Nothing can be worse than MK8's battle mode.

Sonic has the edge on the battle mode, yeah, but on everything else get trounced by Mario Kart 8.

I definitely loved Transformed better than Mariokart 7 and Mariokart Wii - I was a complete convert! Mariokart 8 though, has won me over. It is brilliant and I haven't been able to stop play. My favourite Mariokart since DS and maybe favourite ever.

It's Wario time Yaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Transformed definitly doesnt need to hide itself from MK8, as it still is a worthy competitor.
Content wise, especially in singleplayer, transformed has the upper hand by far. It just offers a much more meaty game experience.

I have a hard time saying that one of the is better than the other though. Both are equally fun and transformed is definitly unique enough to stand on its own two feet.
