My 2 local GAME stores and Grainger Games barely promote the Wii U. When I went into all 3 stores on Friday the bigger GAME store had one side of the store for XB1 and 360. The other side for PS4/PS4/Vita the in the middle of the shop it was for Blu-ray movies. Then the Wii and Wii U titles where squished in along side PSP/PS2/PC titles the DS and 3DS had a corner of it's own.
The smaller games shop was worse. Again one side of the shop for XB1/360 other side PS4/PS3/Vita then in the middle on one big wrack was Wii/Wii U/Blu-rays/3DS. The back of the shop where the tills are had Skylanders everywhere. Something is up if Skylanders get more shop space than a next gen console (wii u)
Grainger Games barely had anything Nintendo Related has a small shelf of Wii and Wii U titles and a few 3DS titles. Rest of the shop was PS4/PS4/360/XB1/DVD/Blu-ray and a small section for PC games.
So yer going by them 3 stores barely any Wii U space. Stores like Argos prefer to promote PS4/XB1 in the windows as well.
I actually contacted Nintendo's Legal department over the retail situation here in the states, here's a portion of the reply...
*... I want to assure you that your comments will be added to our records and made available for other departments at the company to use as they see fit. Your comments help us to understand what is important to our dedicated gamers.
Retailers ultimately decide what products to stock in their retail locations. What I would suggest (if you haven't already), is to contact these retailers with your feedback as well.
Sincerely,
Jessica Smith

Firstly, it's impressive that Nintendo even reads emails like mine, let alone take the time to answer them. I think concerned fans should take her advice, and let the retailers know what we want to see in their stores.

Grainger Games has I think is better than Game at least they have most of the main titles available new. (Game deliberately only stocks the same ones used). They are not as big so I am more tolerant they don't actively try to hide all the Nintendo stuff like Game do and then only stock used.

Freedom of the press is for those who happen to own one.
The Best Buy I go to here in Henderson, NV has relegated the Wii U section to a small fraction of one short aisle, with no playable demo station. They have also crammed the entirety of their 3DS, DS, and Wii products into this aisle. 3DS games and accessories take up the vast majority of this aisle, and rightly so. PlayStation and XBOX have an aisle each, with large demo stations set up, and accessories for these systems spill over into other aisles.
However, this is more an indication of Nintendo's marketing and the success of the Wii U up to this point. It isn't Best Buy's job to promote the Wii U. Best Buy is making decisions based on what will help them turn a profit, so devoting larger sections to systems that will sell better makes sense from a business standpoint.
I actually contacted Nintendo's Legal department over the retail situation here in the states...
You contacted their LEGAL department?!! What for?? Will they get their lawyers to force retailers to carry all of their games/products and dictate where they will be displayed in their store?? If the Wii-U starts selling well, there will be more demand, and they will increase their supplies.
The Nintendo Legal Department (lol) can't force any retailer to stock their products if its not selling! Sorry bro, but Jessica can't help you out here.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't see this coming. What with how horribly the Wii U has been doing the past year, it was inevitable that it would be shoved aside the moment the other two came knocking on retailer doors.
We can only hope that the games coming in 2014 will be enough to bring Wii U back into public relevance, and that Nintendo will finally figure out how to correctly advertise the darn thing.

Because it was an address and not a technical problem form. And guess what? It worked fine. My message was recieved, and responded to.
Now, go away. You're getting my gird loins up.
Edit: I had to go look up the spelling of 'Gird loins' 'causa' you BRO.
Judging by the absence that is Wii U advertising here in Norway, I don't think so. Or make that "Nintendo" advertising. I haven't seen one here in years.
Come to think of it, I haven't seen any PS4 or XBone ads either. Nor any PS3/360 ads in many years.
Can't even remember the last time I saw one. Then again, I haven't really watched "tv" in a couple of years either. As I just hookup my laptop to my TV and watch any shows I want to watch that way.
I honestly don't know how it looks like in the games' stores here. I haven't been in one for years. Buying it all online is cheaper and more convenient.
If I'd have to guess, I'd wager that it is subpar at best. Most people I know around my age that "play games" are FPS zombies.
My local Wal-Mart has an entire case of WiiU games followed by an entire case of 3DS games followed by Wii and DS games. Only then will you find anything Sony or Microsoft related.

@SirGreatNose: All silly responses set aside, I have to agree with FutureAlphaMale. I don't understand why you contacted their legal department. What did you expect them to do? These retailers are doing nothing illegal...

I know it's not a legal matter, like I said it was the most appropriate contack I could find. I wasn't looking for a job, or technical help. And again, the response was favorable, and the message sent to departments who could use it best. I even suggested a few posts ago, that we take the advice from Jessica, and let retailers know what we'd like to see in their stores.

Rest assured your important email is now safely in the hands of Nintendo of America's high priced legal team.
Sooooo, they printed out an e-mail to shred it? Why wouldn't they just delete the email. Besides, it generally doesn't matter where you send an e-mail.
Sometimes as specific of a line you would like to reach just doesn't exist. There is no "marketing concerns" line. He could have e-mailed the "Club Nintendo specialists" about the same thing, and they still probably would have routed his comment to the advertising department.

Every time I see the title of this thread, I remember the old ladies who visit every house to ask people if they have been doing enough to gain a spot in paradise and hand out little books that nobody reads.
