You owe yourself and your family a Wii U. Its much better than XB1 and PS4, its out of their league.
Thats the reason its not gonna participate in the console war, its too good for it. And if you think otherwise you probaly are a fanboy/fangirl. Its practicaly only fanboys/fangirls who gonna buy XB1. People who buys PS4 probaly does to watch movies on it. The Wii U is the defining game system, the system you need.
It has everything a gamesystem need, and Nintendo is so kind. They even canceled a meeting with Obama to held a smash bros festival during e3 (technicaly it was a dude in an mechanical Reggie robot, just watch nintendos e3 comerical on youtube.) they finaly succeded in making the online system they wanted the Wii to have, and it has virtual console.
Virtual console is your way to play all those great games you played when you was youngm(a lot of them at least) and you can share those past miracles with your children. Instead of let them watch bloody gory games on PS4 and XB1. You see, Wii U has somthing for everyone, from the young man slaying his first Zombie while he talks to his non spesific action figure, the old man who knows how to slay the difficult zombie, me who enjoys Dr. Luigi, to you and your familiy who enjoys your kind of games.
Nintendo is even giving you a FREE game for buying Mario Kart 8! When Iwata says pleas understand, I do understand. Like other gamers. You have to understand too. Buy the end of the year, Wii U won the console war before it even started. If you havn't allready bought one, do it. Not just for yourself, but for your family and friends.

Yeah that sums it up nicely. Nintendo have been very generous with incentives and freebies; I'd like to think it's more a reward for loyal customers than a marketing gimmick to try to bring in more fans. What's not to love?
It has the single best selection of Nintendo games and I like Nintendo games the most. It only lacks on Gamecube titles since you can count the Wii VC library since it has access to it and lets you play off tv. I think it is the best way to play some GBA games.
You can easily mod it to play gamecube titles as well actually.
The Wii U is slowly becoming one of my favorite consoles of all time based on the software library. But it still has a way to go before it catches the GameCube, PlayStations 1 & 2 and the Super Nintendo. However, I think eventually, it will be seen as a console that people need to get, because it's going to have some of the best games of the generation.
However, it being my favorite doesn't mean it's the best. I can appreciate it for what it does and what it has, but the best console of all time has to be ... I don't know ... between the SNES and GCN and PS1/2, it's REALLY hard to pick "the best", when we consider not just hardware but software.
I think when we look back at consoles, we can really give them a proper judging. For example, at the time, I thought the Wii sucked and the 360 was so much better, but looking back, it's exactly the opposite. The Wii has much better games, period. It's a much better console. There are much better games on it, and more must-own games. I still play it, and I rarely touch my 360. It never crashed, never froze, never had a single issue. I'm on my 3rd 360.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my Wii U. Nintendo's games are amongst the best on the market and I love the ability to play a game on the living room TV and be able to continue the game in the bedroom using the Gamepad. But what I find lacking is the variety of games; I want racing sims, sports games and more RPGs. The PS2 had all those, which is why I think it's one of the best consoles of all time.
I really enjoy the Wii U but it's annoying that, at least for me, it's still a secondary console.
If I had one complaint — from an entirely personal and selfish point of view — is the lack of RPGs.
There's been some really great consoles, but I am more fond of my Wii U than any other console I've ever owned (and Ive owned them all except Dreamcast, though I did play it a ton). Even just the disc games rival top libraries. And it's only been out what, two years? Imagine the library this puppy is gonna have after FIVE years. Factor in the entire Wii catalog, GBA games, DS games, off-TV play, Miiverse, capable online (a first for Nittendo systems) and every controller option imaginable... And ya, I could totally agree with that assertion.
I know the 3DS is DEFINITELY the greatest handheld of all time though. That's not even up for debate.

Its a tough call I have the SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, Wii U, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS1, Mega Drive, GB, GB Advance SP, DS and new 3DS and honestly all of them other than the PS1 I could say are the best of all time everyone has so many happy memories of all of them so why instead of trying to decide which is best can we not just say we have had thirty something wonderful years of gaming and hopefully we will continue to have another thirty

The Wii U actually has one of the smallest first party lineups in Nintendo home console history.
If you ask me, the Wii U's library isn't anywhere close to rivaling top libraries. The system has been out 2 and a half years now, and a good portion of the library is in genres I don't care for (ZombiU, NSMBU, DKCTF), or is generally disappointing (Mario 3D World, Hyrule Warriors). Smash and Mario Kart are good, but if you ask me, they are about average within their series. There is also the the huge hole of sports games, which have literally been on every other Nintendo platform since they became big.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
If people are ridiculously going to count old games on a new console as making it 'the greatest', than this must be the greatest console of all time. It plays 3000+ games!

Now if they had one with the NES, SNES and N64 cart slots... they always remember to add NES & SNES, then it spirals off into Sega and I'm like hellur I need N64 pls. I'd totally love to get one of those combo consoles and pick up some old titles that you know will never return to the VC or otherwise.
But really, the VC is a big selling point for me and I'm glad they do it but it totally can't be what props the system up. Cool they've got all these retro games but that can't be the only reason for it.
Nope, it has a great line up of first party titles and that's it.
The Wii U will be remembered as the decent little console, that promised so much and delivered very little.
Despite the fact that the Wii U is the only current generation console I own, and that I've never stopped having fun with it and believe it to be an amazing system, I have to agree with this statement. The Wii U is a prime example of what happens when you rush a new idea out the door without the infrastructure and internal support to back it up and market its new features. Given how experimental the idea was, expecting third parties to provide launch titles could not have been a worse mistake. You can't just produce a machine that does X, Y, and Z and say "well, we haven't figured out what to do with this yet but its something new so go have fun with it." It's the producer's responsibility to explain to the consumer why the machine is great for them. While NintendoLand was an alright first party launch title, it was a long time before Nintendo released a game that made effective use of the Wii U's innovative features. Nintendo's failure to provide more upfront showed a lack of confidence in its product. That lack of confidence discouraged more consumers from buying the system, and the system's slow adoption caused third parties to shy away.
ok, i just got on to download DK64 and it says i dont have enough space. So I go to delete data to make room and open space. It said there was unnecessary data and i pressed delete for it, it cleared up 10gb and i don't know what was deleted. Everything is still there and all my save data is there. What happened?
