My fav: Ludwig von Koopa - Has this sense of maturity and handsomeness, makes him look so cool!
My worst: Morton - His voice! Augh.....

I like his voice in Mario Kart 8. He sounds like a dopey oaf.

I forget which of the new Super Mario Bros games it is (maybe all of them), but when you approach Ludwig, he gives you this shocked look on his face and goes "Ohhhh??" I definitely imagine him talking with an exaggerated, drawn out British accent.

They're all named after singers, and no, Iggy is a male. Not sure why you'd think he's a female.

Nice to see the Koopalings are appreciated. I like that they're in more recent SMB games but they boss battles are all FAR too easy. They made them way too simple to beat, but that's been a problem with Mario games in general when there are boss battles. They really need to balance the game out more, like if you're playing multiplayer, have the Koopalings require more hits to knock them out.

I really think it was a dumb move for Nintendo to change the story-line and suddenly say they are NOT Bowser's children. To me, they'll always be his kids.

I was actually referring to the female singer Iggy Izalea.

The one thing I don't like about Ludwig is the burping sound he does in smash when he uses his down smash.

I love fighting as bowser junior.... The clown cart is hysterical. Love the cannon ball and the down move where he sticks out his tongue.

I was born in 1987, so I have fond memories of the Koopa Kids from Mario Bros. 3 and especially Super Mario World (my all-time favourite game, period). I absolutely loved them as a child and was so happy when Nintendo finally brought them back for New Super Mario Bros. Wii. I never understood why Nintendo choose not to include them in their games for so long, but I'm glad that they're finally getting the love that they deserve now, what with Mario Kart 8 and now Smash Bros. Larry Koopa happens to be one of my best characters in Smash Bros.

My game library ranges from Mario Kart to Call of Duty to Tales of Xillia to Diablo 3 to Forza. To me gaming is about having fun - not blindly supporting only one company while thumbing your nose at "the evil other systems."

Iggy was named after Iggy Pop, who is male.

I'm a big fan of the Koopalings. Especially when teamed up with Bowser Jr. I do wish they would show up more in the 3D games, though.

I feel they should have been the main bosses in captain toad

Honestly, I'm fine with the prominence of the Koopalings. They get some nice attention, but I'm not sick of them either, because I don't feel like they're shoved in our faces or tossed where they don't fit. A bit overused by NSMB, but that series is really stale anyway. I'd still like to see them in a 3D Mario game, with some defeated in ways besides jumping on them thrice (because that boss trope would be boring if too common- see their NSMB fights).

No way! The Koopalings were released in Super Mario 3…. probably when Iggy Izalea was wearing diapers. They are not a new thing.

I'm pretty sure Iggy Azalea is not named after Iggy Koopa.

Also, my favorite is Roy.

I'm also pretty sure Ludwig von Beethoven was not a singer...

@CM30
I never get the names of the koopalings right. I try to get them in mind but one or two usually slips off.

like now 1.Larry 2.Iggy 3. Morton 4. Ludwig 5. Wendy 6.forgot!

Guess I never notice them much from the mario games I've played. But yeah, they need to have a specific attack pattern rather than being the same

After so long...I'm back. Don't ask why

But not as bosses in New Super Mario Bros. Need more interesting attack patterns.

Today the plush dolls came in the mail today. They are the Koopalings, Bowser, and Bowser Jr. They are so cuddly. Untitled

I actually think Morton was the best looking one. They are going to be Christmas presents for my baby cousins.

Well they took such a long break from appearing in games. I'm fine with a Koopalings overload. I want them in more games. They should even have their own game.

Place: Dinosaur Land

Untitled

A defeated Bowser and his twisted assistant, Kamek, began searching for new lands to conquer in their doomship. They stumbled into Dinosaur Land and began terrorizing a village of Yoshi's. Kamek used his magic wand to trap some of the Yoshi's into eggs while others escaped. Bowser was fascinated with these new creatures and their mysterious nature, and planned to enslave them into his Koopa army. Deep in the forest, Kamek discovered a Yoshi caring for seven strange eggs that looked very different from the rest of the Yoshi eggs they had seen. The Yoshi was scared off and forced to abandon its eggs, leaving Kamek and Bowser to decide the fate of the defenseless creatures. Suddenly, Kamek noticed that one of the eggs was hatching, and the tiny beast that lay inside looked nothing like a Yoshi. In fact, it looked much more like a Koopa, except with untamed, blue hair.

Bowser was shocked. Kamek then explained that the Yoshi have a natural instinct to care for eggs that were abandoned by their mother. Soon, another hatchling began frantically wrestling out of its shell and it was much larger with pink scales. The others followed shortly after, many of them being different shapes and sizes, some with multi-colored hair, and one female. They instinctively began crying out to Bowser, seeing him as their parent.

Untitled

Bowser, astonished at first took one look at Kamek and decided to raise the young Koopas as his own, and they eventually became known as the Koopalings. Bowser's seven adopted children and leaders of his infamous army. Years later, Bowser had his own biological son known as Bowser Jr. He would be heir to the throne of the great King Koopa and the prized, golden child of Bowser's family.
