"If you could only have five games to play for the rest of your life, what would they be?" I heard this on another podcast, but I want to approach it will an additional twist. So here it is.

If you could only play five games released on the Wii U for the rest of your life, what would they be and why? It can be Wii U Retail, eShop or Virtual Console, but it has to be available on the Wii U.

To get things going, here are my five as it is now and with what I foresee taking their place.:

1. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate - Just mastering a single weapon seems to be taking forever (50+ hours so far), and I have 11 more to go.
2. Disney Infinity 2.0 (will be 3.0 when it releases) - Toy Box mode offers an almost Minecraft ability to create and play.
3. Xenoblade Chronicles (will be Xenoblade Chronicles X when it releases) - 100+ hour story will multiple approaches to complete.
4. Super Smash for Wii U - Party fighting game with lots of options and depth.
5. Steamworld Dig (will be Super Mario Maker on releases) - Randomized platforming with each playthrough

1. Fatal Frame - Not yet released of course, but this is the only upcoming WiiU game i am honestly excited for
2. Scriblenauts Unmasked - This was the game that made me buy a WiiU, still the game i enjoy the most. And hey, it's DC Comics...
3. Donkey Kong TF - This is the best WiiU platformer in my opinion (even better than 3D World)
4. ZombiU - Yes i know, it is a far from perfect game... but soooo much fun!!! And yes, i can't wait to buy the PS4/X1 remake when it comes out
5. Batman Arkham City - Not the best version of the game (still prefer the PS3 one over the WiiU one), but since i have to limit my choices to WiiU games i have to go for this version. Best game of the Arkham series though...i'm still kinda angry about the ending and 'reveal' of Arkham Knight...

1. super mario maker. it's basically an ever growing community game that will never be shut down any time soon.
2. xenoblade chronicles. over 300 hours of play time? yes please.
3. splatoon. when will this game ever get boring?
4. adventure time:explore the dungeon because i don't know. randomly generated dungrons and an endless nightosphere mode combined with INSANE difficulty. what more?
5. dynamite headdy. easilly my favorite game for the sega gennesis and quite possibly of all time.

Is this a joke? Are you having a chuckle? Haha, very funny. I'm the one with a degree

1. Smash
2. Mario Kart
3. Xenoblade Chronicles X
4. Pushmo
5. Zelda U

1 and 2 are obvious choices. XCX is going to offer a minimum of 100 hours of gameplay for just the main story so... yeah I'll get a good value out of that. Pushmo is awesome and has user created levels available for extra content. And I'm willing to wait for Zelda because I know it'll be worth it. Zelda is also here because I won't want to miss out on what will likely be the best game on the system (and there's really nothing else I'd want to replace it with - AC Black Flag was fun but I couldn't play it again, and I don't know how Star Fox is going to turn out).

1.Splatoon - I'll be playing this regularly till the day the sequel arrives. One of the most fun games ever created.

2.Mario Kart 8 - MK Wii was the game that got me into the franchise and I sunk hundreds of hours into it online.MK8 betters it in every aspect (except time trials and battle mode). The arrival of Splatoon has seen me cast it aside but I'll get back into it again soon.

3.Smash Bros - I'm not a huge Smash fan and disliked the Wii version but I really love playing 1 on 1 online.Even when I get my ass kicked it's always fun.

4 Super Mario Maker - Together with Yoshi's Island Super Mario World is the best platformer I've ever played.I still play it regularly and never get bored of it so the thought of being able to experience it in infinite new ways is really exciting.I really cannot wait for this.

5.Donkey Kong TF - Possibly in my top 5 platformers of all time and definitely the best on Wii U not including VC.A magical game that I revisit regularly.

It's not a remake, it's a low budget digital-only port of the Wii U game.

1. Super Mario Maker - It's effectively an endless pit of Mario levels. It explains itself.
2. Splatoon - I've actually been playing almost nothing else for quite a few months
3. Advance Wars - I like strategy games, this one in particular I've had to force myself not to play
4. Smash Bros - For local multi and online, I'd pick Mario Kart but Smash also gives me a bit more genre variety
5. Need for Speed: Most Wanted - I like racing games. I would have picked Mario Kart but I already have a few "Nintendo" games on this list. So if I'm only limited to 5 games for the rest of my life I'm picking something that's not "Nintendo". And since I can't pick GTA? This is as close as it gets to that on the Wii U

It is interesting to see the differences in what gamers like to play. @MightyKrypto: I would have never picked ZombiU because me and horror don't mix well. The same for @skywake and his choice of Advance Wars and even to a point Pikmin 3. With Advance Wars I drive myself nuts trying to be perfect and Pikmin 3's timer and food limit (as lax as it is) stresses me out. I also see DK:TF and Splatoon popping up a lot. DK:TF has that rare ability to induce me to rage quit, and I still need to pickup Splatoon.

@Rixor13 I may have to look into Adventure Time. I've not played it before, but what you are describing sounds a lot like Diablo and Diablo II which I like. I could see it easily replacing Smash since I tend to play solo anyways and I love RPGs.
