Yeah, that's what I always wanted when I played the original DKC games. I'd always wonder, "Why isn't Scrooge McDuck in this game?"

I've been excited for this game for a couple months, and that excitement increases every time we get new info, screens, videos, etc. MK8 and Smash get a lot of the headlines, but this game is going to be a great 2014 release for Nintendo!

Here's artwork of three of the six bosses to battle. The bosses in this game appear to all be elite Snomads.
This is the seal boss we've been familiar with since E3, who's the boss of World 1 Lost Mangroves.

This rather fierce polar bear is the boss of World 5 Juicy Jungle.

And this is the leader of the Snomads; a dark, spooky walrus.

I think it's neat how the enemies get progressively harder throughout the game, and I don't just mean new enemies. Tucks, the penguin enemies, are simple at first in the first world. Then they start wearing helmets, then carry spears, and by the time you get to Donkey Kong Island, they're fully armored with spikes and spears and are called Papa Painguins!
Here's more screenshots to stare at.

So we're never going to get to play as anybody other than DK if we're playing it in single player?

If so, that really really sucks. Why even bother announcing new playable characters if there's a good chance we can't use them.

You're basically going to be using them.. just not playing as them. I know what you mean though, it'd be nice to actually play as them in single player.

Anyways, this game is looking pretty good so far. I have it preordered so I'll be getting it whenever it comes in the mail.. I have to say though, those screenshots look amazing. The gameplay videos.. not so much. Hopefully when playing the game it comes through as good looking as those screenshots.

@Spuratis: Don't put a lot of stock in those gameplay trailers. The actual game itself always looks better than the gameplay videos.

@JonnyKong: I don't know why Retro never lets us play Diddy Kong in single-player, or eventually Dixie, Cranky, and the mysterious fifth character. It would've been nice to have played Diddy Kong and his peanut popguns without having to play multiplayer.
