I love this game! This isn't based on nostalgia either, I'm 14. I've tried alot of NES games and I usually get bored with most The only NES games I've really liked are:

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

I personally hate Punch-Out with every inch of my soul. It's nothing but simple pattern memorization, and gets boring in, like, 5 seconds.

The real best NES game ever is Final Fantasy III!

Don't let that crappy remake fool you, it's some of the best and most engrossing RPG action on any 8-bit system. It's got it all, from quirky humor, heart-felt moments, a good story (for a game made in 1990), some great gameplay that takes everything from the other two FFs and polishes them to a shine, while combining many new elements as well. It also adds some nice adventure elements without you feeling lost and confused. It's also quite challenging, but never frustrating. It really did everything it selt out to do perfectly, and exceeded all my expectations. I really can't get enough of it.

Best NES game I would have to agree with Super Mario Bros 3.

Punch Out!! was good but I personally liked Super Punch-Out!! better. I like Punch-Out!! on the Wii too but after a few fights my arms start to kill me lol.

Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.

@Feenie - that game came out for the Atari 2600; no such NES game with that name exists.

To each their own

Anything is possible, you know.

I had a cart made specially for my NES. Hours upon hours of fun.

PUNCH-OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only this game is worthy of a bazillion exclamation points at the end. Oh, and Kirby's Adventure. I don't have a fondness for old-school Zelda games. There's also Mario, Mega Man, and Kid Icarus.

Ugh you're tempting me to write up a wicked long list of games. Over the years I've had a 'given' collection of up to 120 at one time, probably owned around 150, though now I'm down to around 30. You can see it here: http://members.cox.net/tanookisuit/nintendo.html They're all stuff I can't recommend enough I've held onto, but if you want reasons why I can. I have no idea if i could remember the other 100 or so I had off hand, but I obviously let them go for one reason or another so well you got a top30 off the link.
