DOOM is looking like it will be huge on Switch. From the looks of multiple (anecdotal, I know) sites reporting the multiplayer/lack of editor situation, seems like most people are stoked to play through the campaign far more than making levels.
Probably reasonably so, since base on my personal experience, most friends I have who played it quickly moved on from multiplayer after we all acquired the game back when it first released. I still haven't played the single player, but seems ripe for me to take it with me now.
@Samus7Killer it's good to have fwends with benefits I suppose. But you'll wikely save that thirty dowars since you've cancelled your pweorder with it wacking the multipwayer on the game card.
@DTMOF84 that was just me joking. LoL
...as i wasnt really interested in getting it...
If you read my previous posts i mentioned my fwends want me to get it and one fwend can gimmie a discount at retail.
My 4k t.v. upscales so it may look even better on there. The difference to me just looks like the PS4 is running at a higher resolution. I'm not playing them side by side so I won't care one bit.
I'll be honest, Doom was actually pretty much the AAA game I wanted MOST on Switch (barring upcoming games like Red Dead 2 and Beyond Good and Evil 2), so I am so thrilled. I don't want a PS4 since I JUST got a PS3 (though largely to play old PS1/2 games), why would I even want an Xbox One, and I can't justify buying a PC able to play current AAA games. So it was Switch or nothing for me.
Tbh, if we can confirm those 2 upcoming games, Shadow of Mordor and a few others, I can buy a Switch without worrying about missing much.
@Spoony_Tech
Well keep in mind the video for Switch was taken from a YouTube video. So the resolution is going to take a hit because it's not direct feed.
I am really excited for this now. The return of the N64 era... I was telling people it's like a brand new golden age for Nintendo gamers.

@JaxonH Yeah, I keep thinking about that. Any comparison we try to do now will be flawed since it was coming from a pre recorded you tube video. I can't wait to see how good it looks hands on!
It's probably been said already after 6 pages, but the framerate is what will make or break my purchase. I already own Doom and I have zero problems with its resolution and particle effects taking a hit, but if they lock the framerate at 30fps... Would be a miserable experience, if you ask me.
@skywake Didn't Zombie U as well as Darksiders 2 come out? I would put both those in that category.
I was listing 2013 games for Wii U, those were 2012 releases. And either way the Wii U didn't really get anything quite like Doom. I remember early in the Wii U's life saying how much it needed games like Bioshock Infinite, GTA5, Tomb Raider and they never game. We just got the annualised franchises for about a year, a few random other releases and that was it.
With the Switch it looks like we may be getting some of those kinds of third party releases.

Minotaur are not born of the divines or subject to their aesthetics or sensibilities, they are descendants of the Wild Hunt! Sired by broken, twisted Bosmer consumed by blood thirst, they now roam the wild regions of Cyrodiil, preying upon unsuspecting travelers.
Let's wait for an actual demo, or a proper comparison video with more than a few scenes before jumping to conclusions. Yes it won't be on par with PS4, but docked and undocked will more than likely be perfectly playable.
