Satoru Iwata has confirmed Paid DLC is coming to the 3DS by the end of the year, your thoughts? It's possible Nintendo could add extra stages or circuits in Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land as DLC. Do you think DLC is good for the 3DS?
I don't like the idea of DLC for added levels in Mario games or their other big singlplayer titles.
Though, new tracks for M7 and stages for the upcoming SSB game would be awesome, keep it a little fresh. I wouldn't mind some characters either. I'm fine with DLC for the multiplayer titles.
I think DLC is a great idea, though I don't see it becoming widely used immediately. Adding whole extra worlds to Super Mario 3D Land would be great! I do worry how much Nintendo would charge for these due to the strict pricing on the eShop.

I think this will be more for third-party developers. I don't expect Nintendo to start putting out paid DLC any time soon - I recall Iwata saying recently they have no interest in using it themselves at the moment.
Well, not really. They said they were considering making a port game, not as DLC.

I'm generally opposed to DLC without regulations: dictate that any DLC that would go for money (any cost) have at least a certain volume of content, and I'd be fine with it. 3rd parties could whine all they want; they just use DLC as a way to squeeze more money out of you for a game. It's a shady business practice and it's not good for anything except those companies' immediate gain.
Nintendo won't sell DLC because they put value in having a game you buy already be complete.

Don't buy it if it doesn't appeal to you. The beauty of a free market.
Otherwise, why complain about supporting a developer? They need to make money too, and right now no one is rolling in money. Your support in buying the product means they can make more and better games for you.
hope they have dlc for mario kart 7, new track would make it endless fun

@Akatsuki Paid DLC, or in otherwords "Paid DownLoadable Content" is extra content released for games after their initial market release. Paid refers to the fact that it costs to download this extra content, as opposed to some companies periodically releasing extra content for free. I hope this helps you

I know, but they can always change their minds. I mean they would have lower costs, more people willing to pay for it, and is possible SSFIV3DE creates an Extra Data file on 3DS, like Pokédex 3D does, and I assume it could be used for DLC (bought via eShop), like Pokédex 3D does (free and automatic DLC is still DLC), Cant it?
If it were a catridge, Id probably trade in the previous one if it were cheap, but I rather have it as DLC.
Weren't the Play Coins supposed to be apart of some DLC thing? I know so far they've been used to unlock things like in Street Pass Mii Plaza and Street Fighter IV, but I thought I read somewhere long ago that Play Coins were going to be used for DLC.
Though my memory is not the best, take it with a grain of salt, but if by chance I am correct, would someone back me up on that?
