@Alexsays Kind of ironic as the PS3/360/PSV are getting more remakes these days then Nintendo consoles with all the HD consoles and the Wii's third party support could have been better but its not as bad as a lot of people imply. You would see that there are a lot of good third party Wii games if you actually looked. The Wii's third party support was far better than that of the N64 and it was better than what the Gamecube had too (IMO).
I don't mind remakes at all. I bought some great remakes on the PSX and on the GameCube. It's those lazy HD collections that are springing up on the PS3 that I'm not wild about. Metal Gear Solid HD. Okami HD. I wish they were remaking them.
Ocarina of Time. Now Majora's Mask is likely getting remade. Oh and that Mario Collection, what better way to celebrate 25 years than by not moving the series forward.
And did you guys already forget about the entire NPC collection, which included some games with worse controls than the original?
I'm sure if you complain about the exact same thing in every other post it won't needlessly annoy people or make everyone ignore your point because of your refusal to do anything except do the opposite extreme of Nintendo fanboys without any creativity or fun about it.
If I'm not mistaken the 25 years anniversary for Mario was in 2010 and in 2010 they released Super Mario Galaxy 2 so what's the problem? And if you mention NPC it's true and in the same time not. Metroid Prime 1 & 2 have great implementation of Wii remote, the same with Pikmin 1 & 2 (maybe only Mario Power Tennis sux in my opinion). but everyone have different taste.
But I think that in the last few years Nintendo are more lazy than ever (or maybe they have become incompetent). Every big title from Nintendo isn't made entirely by some R&D divisions, almost all games are made with the help of first-party developers or made entirely by the first/second-party devs. so I'm asking how it is possible that in the Wii and now 3DS (they are not HD platforms) era titles like Zelda: Skyward Sword, Mario Kart 7, Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Metroid Other M (now new Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS) are created by external developers or those devs helped in some way. It's good that Nintendo have great first and second-party teams but on the other side it's disturbing if the Mother Company can't create something really innovative with IPs they created some years ago (vide: Metroid series are created only by external teams for good 10 years) or couldn't even make a simple remake by themselves.

I said this year on the 3DS. OoT was a year ago. Majora's Mask hasn't confirmed so I wouldn't say for sure. And those NPC games were like 3 years ago. And the collection that was released nearly 2 years ago wasn't a remake nor was it on the 3DS either.
Only remakes I see on the 3DS this year are from the 3rd Parties. And they release remakes all the time across all platforms.
edit: in terms of the Wii, we're supposed to get Pikmin 2 this year in the US, aren't we? i know you're not all about the NPC stuff, but I've never played a Pikmin title before, so I'm looking forward to it :3
It officially came out, like, 2 weeks ago. Should be in most stores by now. It's already out of stock on Amazon. O_O I suggest going to your local store quick...
I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo was actually running out of ideas. Miyamoto has made a lot of games, and he's drawn his games from a majority of his life experiences. We'll see how it turns out in the years to come :3
@Mickey: I know, but i hadn't seen it in my local GameStop... maybe i'll try one of the other five in town, lol. thx for the heads-up
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3

[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
Maybe his daily job as a president like attending meetings, discussing and coordinating releases of games, being involved in research and statistics with the specialists, and collaborating with dozens of people a day is clogging his view of a gamer's perspective. Actually, I don't know what a president of NOA's job is, but I'd assume it's busy.

All I asked for was a game worth purchasing. JUST 1. Nope, they can't even give me that...
I've been waiting for over two years now.. lol
Just lower your standards like 80% of this site and you should see all kinds of great games. You know, the games that are rated horribly on average, but somehow they're still great anyway!
I'm probably the most positive person on this site
I'm actively involved in my community in a number of ways and I help others who are struggling along the same career path as myself. I'm just not positive about crap.
How many excuses can people make before they realize the hardware Nintendo went with killed their potential library, and they haven't backed it up enough to cover that.
Here are the number of games, by system, that are rated over 85 by aggregate reviews.
>85%
Playstation 3 - 137
Xbox 360 - 149
Wii - 45
**And because I know some people here aren't good with numbers - or letters for that matter.. - this shows the Wii's library has less than a third of the quality titles of the other consoles. I realize quality doesn't stop at 85, but for the sake of my eyes, I wasn't counting any further.
But you are 100% satisfied with their product? Nintendo could not have made it possible for more third parties? They couldn't have supported the console more over these past 18 months or so when the Wii has gotten like two quality games?
I know people will make excuses for numbers, "But oh just because they are rated lower doesn't mean they're bad!" I go by logic and numbers, not by some superficial 'loyalty' I have for a company.
I just cannot lower my standards enough to enjoy the great majority of Wii games. That's great that a lot of you can, you keep a lot of devs in business. Way to help the economy!
And Wavy where were you when I was defending a Nintendo product the other day? People tried saying the bigger 3DS was just for old people with eye problems and I informed them a larger screen benefits all ages.
Is it wrong to say I am 100% satisfied? You're going on like your opinion is the right one and anyone thinking otherwise is in the wrong. I don't like to say this but a lot of you are talking about video games like they weren't... well games. They are made to be enjoyed and a lot of people pick apart at all the little things that they can't just sit down and play it. Like watching a movie with someone who constantly says, "this part isn't realistic, I bet you I know what's going to happen... so predictable, man this movie sucks". It's okay to have criticism but wait until the movie is over.
