Topic: Metroid VS Halo

I'm a Nintendo fan that likes to cause trouble, I aint no fanboy.

Halo's ok, I actually quite enjoyed playing through 1 & 2 in co-op, good fun, if a little shallow. It's highly over-rated, which is the only reason I attack it. Need to balance things out, y'know.

I agree with Machu.... how the heck can you compare Halo to Metroid. They are two ENTIRELY different games.

IMO if your talking Metroid Prime Series vs Halo. I would have to say Halo, with the exception of Corruption wich I actually enjoyed because the backtracking wasnt too entirely over done like the other two.

BUT Metroid 2D stomps anything Halo in my book anyday, especially the phenominal GBA titles!

I'm picking Metroid because of Brawl... didn't see Halo in any fighting game, and Samus is my favorite there.

Eh, Metroid is about slower-paced exploration and interacting with environments while Halo emphasizes on speedy kills, machinery, and completing levels (as opposed to one huge planet). There are an awful lot of similarities between them though, but the huuuuge diff is the single player/multiplayer thing. I'm a single player kind of guy, so Metroid is my game of choice, but Halo is fun when I have friends over. I'll take Samus over Chief any day though. :3

I played Combat Evolved on the PC, it was good, but nothing too special in my opinion.

Halo is good. Metroid is better. You can't really compare them to each other because no matter what anyone says, Metroid Prime is not a FPS.

There's a Spartan from Halo in Dead or Alive 4.

Man, I had actually forgotten about that. That was a neat cross over, even if DOA 4 wasn't the best fighter.

METROID METROID METROID. That series is infinitely better than Halo.

No, you ridiculous fanboy hunters, not because Metroid is Nintendo-originated and Halo isn't. Metroid is genuinely enjoyable and the better of the two. Halo is wildly overrated.

@yoshi Agreed, yet I still enjoy halo`s multiplayer occasionally. I`m not some MLG geek who does it for a living or studies up on some halo wiki, but I like the series in general. But I agree, it is way too overrated. It`s just nothing but shooting(hey isn`t that what EVERY xbox 360 game is anyway?) If halo reach beats zelda wii......... >

Ahaha. Very clever. _{Like a fox...} Halo is EVERYWHERE among teenagers, especially at my school, but the word "Metroid" is never mentioned. If anything, Metroid is UNDERRATED.

That's all well and good, but I was looking beyond a small sample. They both receive more praise than they have deserved. It's what happens when you're a top franchise.

Halo vs Metroid... SMH. Another battle of opinions thread, these are useless. Obviously Metroid will get more support on this site because it's a Nintendo site, just like Halo would get more support if this was a Microsoft site.

But the truth is that BOTH are excellent and overrated games. They both have strong and weak points, the biggest difference is that Halo is more of a shooter while Metroid is more of an adventure game. This is an apples over oranges thread. In this case there is no "one owns over the other" and that's the painful truth.

Hunting down parasites, giant bad bird things, and space pirates with a hot woman clad in armor and in visually appealing environments = Stylish
