Metroid, and Halo does not even stand a chance.

At least I can play Halo. The story, the online, it's all nice.

I can recognize Metroid Prime is a solid game but it's a series I cannot get into at all. I have to force myself to play and then I end up hating it, so I just stop.

I kinda think that this question is biased (The website is called NintendoLife, not MicrosoftForum whatever thingy....) and of course, people who love Nin10do will say that Metroid ownzz Halo. I would just call this a two-way tie, but in my ((((((((OPINION))))))))), I would say Halo is cooler.

It's an honest question. Not the best place for the question if the maker of such thread expects an unbaised response, but that doesn't in anyway mean that the question itself is baised.

Metroid. I stopped liking Halo after Halo 2 and even then I still preferred Metroid.

Even if I wasn't talking about the series and not just the first game, you're still wrong. lol

Halo consists of an intense, story-driven single-player campaign and a multiplayer mode. The campaign is a good 12 hours long at the normal difficulty setting, and the dynamic nature of the battles, along with the multiple, well-balanced difficulty settings, gives it good replay value. The multiplayer component only supports up to 16 players and includes a bare-bones integrated server finder.

Ive never had a chance to play any Metriod game yet, but I have played the first 3 Halo games. So I gotta go with Halo all the way.

edit:
oh, I have that Metroid Pinball game for the DS, but im guessing that doesnt count.

2002- Halo and Metroid Prime 1 came out
2004- Halo 2 and Metroid Prime 2 came out
2007- Halo 3 and Metroid Prime 3 came out
2009- Halo 3 ODST and Metroid Prime Trilogy came out...

I don't know I find it to be kind of weird.

Just for you.

Hmm... For single player gaming, there is no comparison. Metroid Prime is a MUCH better series. But for multiplayer gaming it's the exact opposite. So the question is do you prefer FPS games alone or with friends?

Personally, I would pick Metroid Prime as the better series, especially with the Trilogy on a single disc with revamped pointer controls for all three games. I'm not going to bash Halo though - it accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do extremely well.

Also, playing online is for chumps. There is nothing I enjoy less than playing against some faceless, nameless, classless XBox kiddies who make it a sport to see who can be more of an ass. LAN play with friends will always be where it's at. Just sayin'.

And the PC version is still Halo, dude.

I wouldn't be to worried about debating the second way you're wrong.

Halo has style. You think blowing out brains isn't stylish?

Blowing out brains = Unstylish

Hunting down parasites, giant bad bird things, and space pirates with a hot woman clad in armor and in visually appealing environments = Stylish

Looking at your GF's face while talking about this woman you speak of..... Priceless.

How so? Without Halo, we surely wouldn't have a Metroid FPS. (That and GoldenEye)

I would say halo mainly because the story is deeper and more detailed than metroid. Also you can't compare the games as metroid is more of a story of isolation your the only one there and you don't know what's around the corner. Halo on the other hand is a bigger conflict with multiple characters it just happens that the first 3 games are based around Spartan 117.

Hell my favorite character from the halo series is one of the characters from the books. Plus master chief rode a nuke into a covenant warship don't get more badass then that,.

Though i did play with a samus mod on Halo 1 PC during lan play and online and i killed it with the morph ball.

WAT!

Just because you say it, doesnt mean it's true

Well, let's look at facts.

Halo had an amzing storyline. Hands down.

Halo also had a weaponry unlike any other. (During its time)

Halo had an amazing Co-Op and local play (And for those who have it on the PC, good online, even though there are hackers like any other game)

And finally, Halo's characters, allies and enemies alike, were futuristic and (I already said this) "unlike any other."

Need I go on?

And please don't think that I am biased just because you see my avatar and my sig, because I like Metroid too. Just......... not as much as Halo. (I speedrun Zero Mission and Fusion, and I beat Super Metroid in 3:06, as proof)

I don't understand what you're meaning. There was lot of sci-fi fps games before Halo. That game didn't revolutionize anything but dual analog controls, and metroid prime didn't even use that kind of control scheme.
