Topic: How many people joined today for SSB demo?

How many do you think registered the site today in hope of receiving a Super Smash Brothers 3DS demo code? There's about 2100 comments on the demo article so I guess.. half, 1050? Thoughts?

I have completely underestimated the draw of SSB. I have never seen NLife so busy.
My guess. LOTS.

No idea. Don't really get the craze.

The demo is confined and short & will be available in a couple of days anyway. It looks like something I'd get bored by in a day. Hardly anything worth going crazy about

What's even more funny is that people are selling the codes on Ebay.

This has been the biggest online public begging I seen yet! it hasn't only effected here but it effected many other sites!

I'd say it seemed like at least half those people joined in the first two hours after the news broke. If anybody doubted the drawing power of Smash before, this should put an end to that.

It certainly surpassed the Tomodachi Life demo day.

I wouldn't quite put the number that high. Some of these people commented like 20 times. Either way it's pretty crazy.

This is what the Nintendo Network should be for. Either that, or Nintendolife should think about implementing a direct message system.

I think some people would also like the special version of the demo too. I'd like it just because it's so rare, but I'm patient enough to wait for Smash. I'd rather people who will play the demo a lot have it, because I doubt I'd play it very much before the full game's out.

It´s just a demo for cryng out loud! AFAIK every other company gives their demos to everyone with no limits of usage but nintendo treats theirs as if it was some kind of special valuable... this reminds me of some arictocrats in former centuries who would boil money and throw it onto the streets and watch the poor fight over the money while they themselves would watch the fightings delightfully from their balcony

I'm pretty sure that's why they made the article in the first place. "Hey! People are selling these keys! We don't endorse it, but we sure do advertise it!"

It's kinda pathetic to see all this mindless begging everywhere. The whole situation reminds me of Steam beggar threads on 4chan, just with less cursing. I've read that the Samash community in MiiVerse has degenerated into an embarrassing mess (well, even more than normal) because the beggars won't shut up. I don't wanna look, though.
I'm really grateful for the nice dude who gave me a code on his own (not gonna mention his name here to hold off the beggars), but I could've easily lived without the demo for this week.
