Tinky commented on Feature: 10 Essential Games For Your New 3DS:

Yes, it may be only the opinion of the review staff, but it still says "must have title" in the tagline, which is a bit... hm, inappropriate. Not that it bothers me much, really, but still, I wanted to point it out... I guess... it´s irritating and bothersome whenever to see some recommendations. What´s the use of those, I mean people who are able to search for sites like Nlife are able to figure out their preferred games on their own. If anything, such lists only confuse the audience, or worse, lure them into buying some game(s), which they think must be great (it was recommended, after all) and then be deeply disappointed.
Instead of throwing all kinds of genres together and then listing a "essential games list" one should rather sort the games by their genres and make a comparison within the genres. Of course, for now there aren´t really that many games for the 3DS out there to make such a reliable within genre listing, but then no lists would be better, for now

Well at least they have now a rating of 6, that is if you add the ratings from all three cake ninja games together. :p
Also I find the name of the developer/publisher kind of hilarious, sounds like some fictional rogue state from a bad movie.
:D

"If it's easy to find out, please point me toward that link. Thank you. Otherwise I've either got to assume it a) didn't happen or b) was an obvious joke that was taken as being serious...because the above does not represent my mindset at all."

First, regarding your sentence above, I would think it would fall under "was an obvious joke that was taken as being serious"....hm

Well, I was referring to a message where it is counted how many reviews you wrote until that day divided by (low) scores, i.e. how many 1 out of 10, how many 2 out of 10 etc. etc. and one got the impression that there was a race towards collecting as many low scores as possible, because it was so full of lowly scores. Maybe you know what I mean? The reason I didn´t link to the message is that it has been a while when I read it, and without search function, it´s pretty difficult to find something specific from some time ago, hm...There were other messages too regarding this, but I guess it would fall under nit-picking then. kay

Just one more thing which I wanted to point out:You wrote: "If I don't enjoy the game, it gets a review that reflects that fact. It's as simple as that, and to suggest that I would write bad reviews regardless of a game's merits is, to be blunt, pretty insulting."

Now this is really not against you or anyone else specific, I just want to point out one interesting thing you said there, that is, to write a review irrevelant of a game´s merits, but on the same time to be legitimated to give a bad score because of non-appeal for the specific game. Any contradiction seen? The reviewer´s liking or not liking of a game or genre should not overshadow his review. Of course, there are many reviewers that don´t really follow this rule, but that doesn´t make them right.

I´d suggest to call it a day, you´re surly right also.
Also, just for the record I guess, I wrote in my previous message "this is by far the first time that a game got such a "trollish" score" whereas it should of course mean "this isn´t by far the first time that a game got such a "trollish" score"
Well, thank you bye and Peace

Some thoughts:
-Whenever there is a bad score for a game, trolls pop out from somewhere in Nlife who additionaly bash the game. Those trolls are nearly always tolerated, even when their language is quite dirty. I´ve seen it many times happen here, that trollish behaviour can´t be overlooked every single time, so it´s quite obvious that that is wanted here, so the score at a certain game can be cemented further on (look, a hundred other people are badmouthing the game too, so we´re right, yeah)
-some reviewers seem to make it a habbit to "collect" bad scores with their reviews. From this reviewer, I´ve read somewhere in the forums (don´t remember where exactly, but should be easy to find out) that he kinda made it a "hobby" to collect as many bad scores as possible. And then to... kinda joke around with it.... "not good" for a reviewer, to say the least, but you all knew that, right?
-Of course, this is by far the first time that a game got such a "trollish" score, but honestly, I didn´t say anything for the games before, because, well, I had fear of the trolls that would inevitably rush you afterwards. And I´m pretty sure, there are really many people out there who think exactly like me
-to say something about this game; I didn´t play it, but watch videos of it, looks pretty much the same like the arcade game "Track & Field", which I´m currently playing on the Konami Arcade Classics for DS, and that game is pretty fun.
-And of course; in no way I´m affiliated with Cinemax or any other company, I´m merely stating my thoughts as a long-time gaming fan.
Thank you

Nice review, and I agree to the rating though I think it´s really at the top limit - any higher rating than this looks like it would be too high for this little game.
The original GB Tetris is much better, seems like Nintendo wanted to make a little more cash when everyone was captivated by Tetris back then.

Nice indeed, but I just hope that they don´t force the player use the stylus in this game just for the sake of it which would distract too much from game play. So I will wait for some first (p)reviews to see if the controls are messed up between having to interchange between stylus and buttons. But otherwise, very neatly looking

Tinky commented on Nintendo Download: 29th March 2012 (Europe):

You are right that some games are hard to release because of those hindrances, but I think there isn´t any real effort by Nintendo to even try to make the VC library be as complete as possible. They are just trying to attract mostly new (and young) gamers but people that are trying to have a somewhat complete library by the VC service feel cheated.. Other companies are to blame too, but if Nintendo is so obviously benefit-orientated, it is kind of hard to ask other companies to be more generous in this regard. And of course that´s only my opinion.

And also I find it strange that you call the VC service obscure.. I mean it´s the first time since apr. 20 years or so that customers are able to buy the old GB and other systems games (I´m not talking about used games market, obviously). The main reason I bought my 3ds in the first place was mostly just because of the VC service! Never before has it been possible to buy your favourite old Nintendo (and other) games onto your handheld console and play them anytime you want. No cartridge changing anymore. I just cannot accept how this can even remotely be termed as an "obscure service".

Tinky commented on 3DS Celebrates First Birthday in Europe:

Did anyone remember that there was once a was once an eagerly waiting for the successor of the GBA ? The DS was stated by Nintendo not to be the official successor of the GBA, so, may I ask then, where is the successor of the GBA then?? I would have loved a more modern, single screen, Nintendo handheld, but it was kinda obvious back then that this was only spam talk by Nintendo, if the NDS hadn´t been so succesful, they would have said that the "real" thing is about to come or such.

Oh... Finally, in the last week of the month they managed to release the game gear games in europe too. It´s nice that game gear is now in the 3ds VC too, but... I really hate this waiting and waiting for some title that I´d like to download. Also, there is no guarantee that they will rerelease all their games on their systems, if we take a look at Nintendo´s history with rereleasing older games..whis is another thing that makes me dislike Nintendo

Tinky commented on Feature: Our Favourite 3DS Games So Far:

Regarding the games for the 3ds so far, I´m really not happy about it, just for example, I miss the more traditional 2d games. The only game that I like among them is Re:Revelation, (none other of the games in that list interests me) and even that game has its failures (although minor). No, Nintendo, with every passing day, I am more and more disappointed with you

This seems too much overhyped for me. I watched some gameplay footage from this game on youtube and I just can´t understand the 9/10 score at all..
It looks like a PC jump´n´run game from the early 90s to me, only that the PC jump´n´runs from that time were far more original :/
