More than any sane person would need.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Giving up on Nintendo? No, I will still continue to use my Wii U and I will get XBX. Now, moving a majority of my future video game dollars over to Playstation? Yes.

Or you could just play the games better on PC.

Like Arkham Knight? No thanks, I like to keep it as simple and easy as possible with a console.

I'll do exactly what I did with Wii U, hold off purchasing until there's enough games that I want. This is the procedure I use with every console.

Well this sorta thing happens every season. The crop is grows, ( etc company ) makes there pick of the crop and soon another corp comes along. However each year we yield an different crop. Sometime the crops are like fish. If we keep using the same bait eventually they will not bite. However if change the bait enough times, they will keep biting. With Nintendo new people being born are just another crop to pick. Like take Pink Salmon. Every year an new group of Salmon is born and there entire lives is migrating. Unlike pond fish, the Salmon never learns this lesson. So over time the new generation forgets what the original generation had to learn or go through. They do not communicate, they do not pass down memories asides for the instinct to travel to A to Z. They just keep getting caught by Pigeots and Usarings.

It reminds me of these things called Magicarps. They look nice, but they are dumb fishes........until they reveal there true forms as Garados ( which are really over-sized carps in the form of Chinese dragon ).

I will admit I was an Nintendophilohilc once upon an time, but now I am clean. I will admit I can still remember the feelings of it, running through my veins. I almost hurt my own family in the process. I hurt myself, I hurt my loved ones, and I had to move on.

No seriously Videogames are nice but without the programming knowledge. The only person to defend non-programmers in programming is Steve Jobs. That is where I stand with videogames nowadays. Nintendo/SONY/Microsoft is beating an dead horse of the 1980's. Back when assembler was the only thing to get anything done. Nowadays we have games made by people with little or no programming knowledge at all.

Then you realize that you do not need them. They need you more then you need them. Every year Nintendo comes along with it's icecream truck. The IceCream man rents the truck to sell you something that is good in small dosages but original you do not need the frozen-sugar-milk ( what ice cream is ). It is just an fun thing to play around with and provides an lesser joy.

Videogames ( while great in my opinion ) is an lesser joy and too much of it can hurt your life. It is like an runner who burns out there joints running or an even burn out the fat on there chest. Or an boxer or American-football player with cracks in the skull. Or just an person who breaks there bones a lot who ironically eats sugerish sweets too much.

Give it a break. Like two people who are going out with each other. Sometimes they need to be apart. That is why I am an art person, and not an programmer.

I honestly do mean giving up on Nintendo. Not just because of E3 but because of their constant stupid decisions. Decision that I simply do not, in any way agree with. The recent ones like the Nintendo YouTube Program was the straw that broke the camel's back. I can't and will not defend them anymore. Then Miiverse getting all strict, North Korea style, abysmal E3 showings, Nintendo's complete unwillingness to get on with gaming standards. I can't. I just freaking can't. I've defended them for years, been through some heated arguments in their defense and in the end, they keep making these idiotic decisions that fuel the haters and trolls. I feel betrayed. I'm done with them if the NX doesn't meet my expectations. I'd happily support Sony and the Playstation instead of Nintendo.

Since at the end of the day it is a product and service being provided a customer has every right to choose a company that they feel better meets their needs. My issue is with the temper tantrums that get thrown. If your local grocery store stopped carrying a brand of pasta sauce that you really like most people don't freak out and complain (impotently might I add) about it, they just go find a store that carries what they need. I never understand why people don't do the same with game companies. Yes I understand emotional attachment, but in the end no company can ever meet one consumer's need so stop treating it like a family member betrayed you. Let your money talk and go live your life in peace.

I gave up on Nintendo a long time ago and it's not for the event they had. It's the Wiiu they promised so much,in the end they were all lies. I don't even know why i'm still buying their products. I really hope the next console is a step up with what they did with the Wiiu.

Even though I've been thinking that the games for Wii U have not been as superb as what they could be (they were pretty short in gameplay and not a lot of depth on many), I haven't lost faith in them. They're pushing towards the NX with hopes that it will sell better, and if the Wii U isn't selling as well as they hope for, then they're not going to make big budget games. I honestly can't wait to see what the NX will hold...especially since they stated that the next Mario Adventure will come to it, and who knows, maybe F-Zero, Zelda and Metroid. I think if the NX comes out with a vast majority of AAA games on launch...and not have to wait a year into the life cycle of it, I think fans will flock for the system. Here's hoping that the NX doesn't do as bad as the Wii U is doing...here's to hoping for a bunch of great games for their next console.

I'm not giving up on Nintendo; I'm just not buying their next system at launch or even quite a bit down the line. I got really burned on the Wii U over the course of its entire lifespan, and it is without a doubt the one system that stands out as disappointing when compared to the other ones they've put out.

E3 is a small part of what is making people do this. It's the straw that is breaking the camel's back.

Best thread ever

nope, the ones who give up on Nintendo just leave it behind without saying a word, rather, the people trully willing to give up on something just move on without trying to hog attention, because they feel like it's not worth their time.....

What about people on here posting that they are buying a PS4 or Xbox One? Are they just lying as well?

Buying another console =/= giving up on Nintendo. Like Gus said, it's easiest to actually quit something cold turkey if it's something that you don't even feel such strong feelings for to even announce your resignation - "just walking away" shows far more resolve than an internet rant.

i "gave up on nintendo" in the way that i was very disappointed and kinda mad, because off the this years E3. i will wait for what they are doing with their next console and handheld and whatever NX will be. if they dont deliver then i will really give up on them.

I thought this years E3 was disappointing, but it didn't change my opinion about Nintendo. Much as I enjoy Nintendo games, I don't think I will buy a Nintendo home console again. If their next handheld is done properly at launch (powerful hardware, decent resolution and bright screen(s), no region locking, good battery life, etc) I might buy that. If it's region locked and has low resolution screens, then I won't bother.

Even though I bought the Wii U and 3DS, I think i'm largely done with buying Nintendo products and games, and I was of this opinion before E3. PC seems to be the way to go now in my opinion.

They cannot be called "fans" if all they do is talk about quitting and leaving...more like, consumers! That's the word. You ought to change the title of the thread to "Are Consumers giving up on Nintendo?" See, I'm a fan of sports teams, whether or not they do well, I (along with all the other team fans) still cheer them on and wear their colors with pride! Here, I just see consumers who no longer want to be associated with an unpopular company, not unlike the big change against Apple products a few years back... Those people were not "fans" just consumers. "I hate Apple! I'm all Android now!" That's how these threads come off. Fans should not be confused with sheeple that jump from fad to fad. 'Nuff said.
