After the two ds offerings I'm more then willing for a change! This looks like tons of fun!

@Tech101 Indeed, though I'm worried the Merge-in-wall function might be a little...overpowered? Like, will it make exploration too easy? Will it save you from getting hit by enemies? They just need to put some limits on it, honestly.

I'm more excited for this than any other game thus far for the 3DS! Graphics looks great! I cannot wait!
Maybe as a bonus, they could include with it the original ALttP.
I wouldn't be surprised. I think it's supposed to be a Cart game...
I was thinking the exact same thing. Will that particular move be offered later in the game so as not to be to overpowering! I hope not and I'm sure they will design it with that in mind. Maybe limit it to only certain walls but you have to admit it sure looks cool!

Hopefully the game will be long, but I wonder will it have multiplayer? it is a possibility, maybe something like scare scraper from dark moon.

Also the way they revealed it irked me. I mean it's one of their big guns and they just show some kinda bland looking tower/dungeon with recycled music. Just look at the way Nintendo revealed Spirit Tracks [youtube:q7eHFxnIy9E]
Sense of adventure, tidbits of story and awesome, original music. That is how one announces a Zelda game.
Hope it will grow on me, but they'll need to show something more convincing than that.
I've wanted a 2D top down Zelda since Minish Cap so seeing this not only being a new classic Zelda but also a sequel to my favorite Zelda game was a huge treat.
Really, you 3D Zelda fans have gotten more than enough catering to in recent years. Something like this is exactly what I've been waiting for.

I think it's good that we're getting some 2D Zelda love. The game looks quite interesting and I wonder how taking place in A Link to the Past's world will affect the game.
Now all we need is some 2D Metroid love!

I agree - but one could argue that it acts as a good sign that they have plenty more to announce in the future; so much that they didn't see this needing an especially unique announcement.
This new title looks very promising to me. As a fan of all things Zelda, I can't wait to give it a go. This will also push the nostalgia button for me because a LttP was my first Zelda game.
Oh yeah, a 2D Metroid V would be the capper for me. The 3DS is already swimming in great stuff but that would totally put it over the edge for me.

Looks pretty cool. As increasingly meh I am about blatant nostalgia games and LTTP isn't necessarily my favorite Zelda, I always felt it offered something that later games just don't. It might take me a while to think of exactly what that is though...
