For me, once the battle goes for too long it ends up being near impossible, since everyone keeps dying.

That shouldn't really be happening that early in the game. Unless you've done absolutely zero grinding and exploration. Level up your side-attack move a few times and your light heal move and you should be fine. You should be able to beat him with just the 1 chain attack.

Like I said...I couldn't even activate the chain attack because everyone was dying, couldn't keep them alive long enough.

That means you've done almost zero grinding. The whole point of this game is that it's big and interesting so you explore it and level up in the meanwhile.

A good comparison early on is the large caterpillar mini-boss in the Magnel ruins place. Don't advance the story until you can beat that and you'll be fine. And remember to buy new armour and all that.

I'm pretty sure that had nothing to do with it, because the second time I fought the boss I brought him down easily. It was because I screwed up somewhere and couldn't fix it without restarting.

When is a good time to starting to use affinity coins? If I understand it correctly once you link someones arts (or what they are called) it is set. Or can you change it later on?

ASAP. Yes you use the coins but only temporarily, you can remove them and use them on different trees.

You realize theres a side passage so you can bypass him right ?

To everyone having trouble with Chain Attacks, just build it up a ways away and skip travel to the boss. The meter will remain filled and you should be able to activate it in 30 seconds flat.

I may have missed the memo but does anybody know what the update did to this game?

It seems like all the update does is to fix some bugs for the game. Nothing major AFAIK.

I know what it didn't do! It didn't fix the horrific texturing artifacts in Eryth Sea where you can blatantly see where the path texture and the regular ground texture meet because they're different brightnesses. Shocking issue for a game with such high production values.

Anyone know how to get this thing to show up?

Tried what the wikia said and even looked at the comments, is he just random when it comes to respawning and I've been unlucky? Killed him some time ago before finding the quest to kill one.

Got this gane at launch, haven't had too much time to play it, but man, Riki is awesome. Favorite character in the game besides Dunban.

If you'd already killed it, it should've already registered. I think quite a few unique monsters don't respawn. So that's probably what's going on! Check the quest status.

The quest isn't completed, and I've killed it already. Does it respawn after a certain point in the game or something? Or is the wiki just wrong? >.>
