Apparently IGN uploaded them on the 4th, but I never noticed until now when they decided to randomly post a video of 3D Land's opening movie. But yeah, if you wanna see more videos of the game (if you haven't already...>_>), it starts off at a Castle Level. http://www.ign.com/videos/2011/11/04/super-mario-3d-land-worl...

Keep it PG-13-ish.
It's weird how you have to hold the Y button to dash (since in the 3D platformers you dont have to), but I guess it's because they are putting an emphasis on this being a hybrid 2D and 3D Mario game.
Glad Mario still can do his flips and all.
you did in sm64ds
Memory, Memory, people. Go eat some Gingko Beloba people....cause there is like no way you can forget doing that on the DS Lite.

I didn't forget SM64DS did that. It had to, anyways. It's just the 3DS has circle pad so it really did not need the "Hold Y" to run where SM64DS needed
When I played the demo, I found the controls to be good, but different. They're not as spot-on accurate as the Wii Mario titles and a few of Mario's moves have been depowered but all in all, it controls well. I don't see control issues being much of a problem.
Anyone know if the firmware update coming with 3D land will be present in the bigger update. Thinking about picking up oot this week and 3D land near black friday.
WAT!

Only thing that scares me about this game is the difficulty....I mean, I know its not gonna be hard...but afraid of it being TOO easy...like...New Super Mario Bros, easy....lol. By the end of that game I had 99 lives. xD Same could be said for Galaxy 1.

Oh my gosh! I just realized that this game releases in 4 days! I thought it released on the 18th, but that's the UK/EU release date. I suddenly feel like I haven't gotten hyped up enough for this release, so here goes. Ahem.
OMFG Super Mario 3D Land releases in 4 days!!!1!11eleven!!!
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Yeah, the game does look kind of easy...for the first few worlds at least. But it starts getting harder after worlds 6-7 and especially starting fron world 8. Also, don't forget that after you beat world 8 there are 8 special worlds. By world S8 we're talking levels with a 30-second time limit in which you need to continuously collect timers to avoid running out of time, all while dodging enemies and jumping across narrow platforms. Oh, and on the last level you have to fight Dry Bowser under that same time limit that you had to worry about the entire level. I'm sure that'll be a decent challenge AND even after you beat the true final level there is the additional challenge of collecting all the star medals.
If the 3DS has not been discontinued SM3DL and MK7 are awesome games, but if the 3DS has been discontinued Sony has taken over the world. It is not true that both Sony has taken over the world and SM3DL and MK7 are not awesome games. Therefore:Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 are...

THANKS FOR SPOILING THE SECRET WORLD!
30 second time limit sounds very frustrating. Do the star coins act like Comet Medals in the Galaxy games? Do they unlock special challenges in the levels?

Actually they're called star medals, my bad. I guess I got used to the name "star coins" from playing too much NSMB lol. Anyway, from the few gameplay videos I've seen, the star medals are used to access new levels, though I'm not sure if every single level has a required number medals needed to access it, or if there's any other use for the medals. I stopped myself from watching any more gameplay because I don't want to spoil the rest of the game for myself (I got most of that info from the Super Mario Wiki), so I won't know anything else about the star medals until the 13th. BTW, I didn't really "spoil" the secret world because someone else already posted about it earlier in this thread, and the devs mentioned it too in the SM3DL interview. Technically, all I did was remind you about the secret world.

I got rid of Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 cause they were too tedious and took too long to 100% complete. I beat both games once, and I really don't want to go through Galaxy 2 again. Damn you Grandmaster Galaxy!
Super Mario 3D Land sounds very appealing to me. No stars to collect, no purple coin challenges, no comet stars, no daredevil runs, no stupid minigames, no motion control manta racing, ball rolling, or bird flying. Just pure 3D hop-n-bop platforming action.
