I'm not sure if many of you on here are recall the mid 90's and the Sega Saturn. The Saturn was Sega's dive into 3D gaming, released before the N64 and Playstation. While it was good, it never took off due to the lack of a staple game for the console. Nintendo had Mario 64, Sony had Crash, but Sega had yet to supply a 3D platformer with their beloved character Sonic, that is until word of Sonic Xtreme came about. Being developed by Sega Technical Institute, SX was to be the answer to the systems prayers. The levels were laid out in 3D globe based levels, that used a fish eye lens within the engine, to create a pseudo-3D effect. Unfortunately, the project lead and other key members of the team fell ill due to stress and overwork, and the game was quietly cancelled.
**I'm not sure of the rules for links on the forum, so if you'd like to see some game play, just Youtube it.**
A sad end to a great game...Until now!!
I propose that we draft a petition and send it to Sega to tell them that we want this game made!! It would make great use of the 3DS' abilities, and would overall just be a great addition to the system's growing library!
on a side topic what other Sega games are you looking for on 3DS?
I propose we draft a petition and send it to Sega to tell them that they should stop saturating the market with Sonic games. They should take a year off and begin work on a beloved IP like a sequel to Jet Set Radio Future instead.
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.

Sega has take strides in the last two years with reducing the crap quality of Sonic games. Generations and Colors were actually fun and enjoyable. perhaps we should draft a multi-game petition to show them fans are still out there, I'd like a new Crazy Taxi while we're at it!

Preferably Sonic 3 & Knuckles, but I wouldn't mind one in the Advance 1 style.
Just more classic Sonic in general would be nice.

I liked how Generations played with classic Sonic, but I would love a new game with some great Sprite art to it, but Xtreme was developed during the Golden age of Sonic, so I feel if they just took the original concept and ran with it, it would be so much fun.
The game looked like crap and not fun at all, so... no. I'll stick with Sonic Generations.
The game was really only still in alpha stage, with only one or two test levels completed. With technology they have today, the game can be reworked to be faster and much more massive than they could have done in 96.
To be quite honest even though I am a Nintendo fanboy I like sonic more than I like Mario. I find that sonic has a cooler life ,actually eats food ( and mushrooms don't count) like chili cheese dogs, and is so fast that it blows my mind why he even needs a cart racer. I propose a super sonic 3d ville.
