It's Lagombi, not Uruk.

I've never really understood the attraction of the Monster Hunter series. I've now played the 3DS demo and it was frustratingly difficult!!. No health bar for the Monsters, animation sequences are terribly slow and pixel detection is odd. However, I played and played and OMG I'm hooked!! This game must be unbelieveable with other players!! What a great demo. It is sure to put many people off but non believers like me could be turned. I'm even thinking off getting a Wii U just for the Wii U version of this game. The online potential of this game brings back memories of Phantasy Star Online!

I have to agree with you. I never understood the attraction either, I heard about the Wii game but I just didnt get into it. And yes I am hooked now too just like you lol. As for the health bars I just found out myself that its all in the animation and the movement of the monster. Also from what I gather in the full version you will be able to cut limbs off and such to indicate how much damage you are doing to them. Also its just finding out which weapon works best for you. I have to say the demo wasnt kind for newcomers to the series like myself but after hitting the forums here it got easier to understand.

And yes I too can only imagine what this game is like on multiplayer it kinds reminds me of doing a raid in an MMORPG like World of Warcraft. So can't wait for this game.

Just got done playing the Wii U demo of MH3U and I think I made the right choice preordering the Wii U version since I found the controls to be fantastic using the gamepad. Can't wait for this!

I was always attracted to Monster Hunter but couldn't get into it, but the more I played the demo, the more it grew on me, Im not saying Im a master hunter now (lol) - not at all - but I got the hang of it and I signifcantly improved my skill (easy to do if you start with ZERO skill stumbling over your own feet). I really love the fact that there is no health bar and the monsters act quite natural imo. I just gotta find out what weaponset I'm most comfy with to go and raise my skill with that when the full version hits. It also makes me seriously consider buying a Wii U...

Good for Nintendo, we need more games like this,
too bad Squeenix botched Heroes of Ruin back in the day, it could have been the 3DS' Diablo.
I wonder, will the full version of MH have voice chat? Guess no hm? What a shame... would be perfect for this game. On the other hand: what for since there is only LOCAL play! facepalm silly me...

Was Lagombi that giant wabbit? (pun intended) he seemed invincible indeed.

MHU demo is terrible.

Frankenstein was the creator - not the monster. It's a common misconception, held by all truly stupid people - Kryten

Has LJM and emeralds took over your mind?

No. Voice chat was in Monster Hunter Tri was terrible, and removed a few features present in the Japanese version.

study the monster. it's movements and it's attacks. your two little friends are constantly pulling the attraction to them and then you should be able to attack more easily. use the roll mechanic (B) to not get hit. eat some ration to increase your movement bar.

at first it is hard to know what weapon you should choose. a fast one or a slow one? melee or shooting?
i always choose the hammer. you can do maximum damage with just one attack. charge with R and wait for the right moment to attack the monster with your giant hammer. i love the hammer

Played the demo of MH 3DS last night. First time playing any MH game. I gotta say, the graphics were awesome. I like the feel of an almost open world type game. The monsters were also pretty cool. Characters and their weapons were also great. I did however, find it hard to beat the quest monsters. The wabbit and the sea monster. I need to get the hang of what I'm doing and keep trying. This may be the first demo that i actually play all available times i can play the demo. I'm definitely considering this game. But I'll wait to see what the Castlevania demo looks like next week.

@Gustoff

Well, Monster Hunter is pretty hard, and the bunny thing is supposed to be an easier monster to hunt.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

I have to agree. Its kind of weird that I thought the controls worked better for me on the 3DS. But I'm still gonna pick up bother versions when the game comes outl
