Wait, Kid Icarus doesn't have mid-chapter save points? Wow. I thought it did for some reason. Hope they put it into another game like KI:U, because replaying a chaper that long is indeed rediculous.
If KI:U had a mid-chapter save point, I would play it more, but each chapter is too long, and you have to do the flying part of the game, I wish you can choose to skip it.

I agree. One of Uprising's few MAJOR issues is that the levels are too long to be easily replayable but often too short to be epic enough on their own to justify it.
I know you said there's potential, but when something revels in being light-hearted with mild adult appeal (innuendo) taking a dark turn would be pretty awkward, may cause mixed reactions. Look at Shadow the Hedgehog (not the criticism for controls or anything, just the failed maturity), No More Heroes 2 (fan reaction, not critics), the list goes on.
At least I can confirm you have no idea what maturity is or where I'm coming from.

Thankfully, Mickey knows where I'm coming from.
I apologize that I don't understand your vague terms. Lay off the superiority complex.
And going by what he said, I still think the "Saturday Morning" feel fits best, though I wouldn't describe it as such. I don't want a highbrow Kid Icarus. I don't want a gory Kid Icarus. If they change Kid Icarus, so be it, just be for the better. The type of humor in Kid Icarus really fit the setting well.

^How exactly does it fit it? Cartoony humor and self-referential jokes aren't first thing that comes to mind when I think of greek mythology. In fact, that's the exact opposite of what I think of, which is usually epic stories, grand adventures, gruesome deaths (the actual legends didn't hold back, IIRC), and lots of symbolism (and other stuff I don't really get logically but connect to emotionally). Of course, you probably mean their interpretation of Greek Mythology, in which case, feel free to enlighten me.
By mature, I mean a mature appearance with complimentary aspects and concepts to help withhold the direction.
In other words, a mature Kid Icarus installment. A serious storyline. Think of Heavy Rain's serious, mature narrative and overall storyline(s). I honestly don't know how else to explain it in under a hundred words.

It is a Nintendo game but that doesn't mean Nintendo can't think outside the box and produce an epic game of the mythology. After all, Greek mythology does contain several epic tales. (By "epic" I don't mean the over used term teenagers and young adults express every time something exciting happens. I mean epics, as in The Odyssey.)
@Chrono_cross - I don't think Nintendo could or would even want to make a game with that level of maturity. Hell, if they can make it as mature as Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, which is more like a great Pixar movie than I've ever seen a game be, I'll be impressed. But yeah, I'd certainly prefer something less silly.
While I highly disagree with that statement, I also realize who most of the humor is for, so I'm sure it's just not for me. I'd be surprised if they did take the humor out and make things more serious, though I'd be very happy if they did. In fact, it's pretty much the main requirement I'd have for the next Uprising-like game. I don't care if it sucks in every other area in the end, I'd still buy it so long as it ditches the humor.

Nintendo can do something like that, but in the end, it will still be cartoony.
God of War did the "epic" greek mythology thing, and they did it pretty well, I might add. As for Kid Icarus, I think Nintendo did pretty well with what they could have done.

God of War is the exact reason why I wouldn't want a mature Kid Icarus game. That and the fact God of War is the precise example of why Nintendo fans are skeptical of this idea and why the media thinks mature is mindless, immature violence.
Yuck.

In all honesty, i don't see why Nintendo couldn't do another Kid Icarus, say on the T rated level with a slighty dark plot/mood. As CanisWolfred had mentioned, the characters and settings here are based on Greek mytholgy, though loosely based in this case. The legend of Zelda: Twilight princess was also mentiooned; Sure it clearly had a somewhat serious plot. But consider its contents label for its rating; animated blood, fantasy violence. Now compare that to kid Icarus: Uprising; comic mischief, fantasy violence, mild suggestive themes. Again, i honestly couldn't see anything bad to come out of that at least.

A T-rated Kid Icarus would be fine, and a dark mood would be interesting, but really, the humor was one of the many defining points. All they could achieve on a T rating that would keep the soul would be blood on a few monsters or some mild language, so I don't really see the point.

@Canis Wolf
You really hated the humor that much? I found it enjoyably goofy and charming, I loved the fact that it didn't take itself seriously at all. I just can't see a darker KI.

No conversation? Well how about we divert to more talk of our love of this game....I love the trophy system, just like I did in Brawl, speaking of Brawl the whole set up (Menus) seems extremely reminiscent of SSBB.
