Do you have an secondary with its own charger?

I have nearly 10 rechargeable batteries laying around that are charged. I'm pretty sure I'm good to go.

You bought 10 separate 3DS batteries? wow o____o

is it that hard to set it down for a couple hours and charge it

I'm fine with the original 3DS battery. No really, I am.

me too. not such a big problem i think. the battery lasts very long in standby mode even with streetpass on. and i usually just play at home on my couch or on the toillet

Thanks for that image

I've not personally had much to complain about in regards to the 3DS' battery. Like you, I only tend to play mine at home (although not on the toilet; I'd be terrified of dropping it in there) and it lasts pretty well. And if I do take the 3DS out with me it's only ever to get Street Pass hits.

Not a bad idea, how much did you spend?

I also do not see why everyone hates the 3DS battery. In an average day, I might deplete the battery one bar. I recently took a trip and had about ten hours spread over two plane rides and only at the very end of the last trip did the battery go into the red.

No worries.

but what if your Netbook battery is drained, because of charging the 3DS o_O

I don't tend to need to use my Netbook too much, unless I'm in a lecture at Uni where I can just plug it into a powerpoint anyway.
I just charge it while I'm at home and if I plan on going out for the day or something I'll put it on my bag and if I have it on sleep mode I can charge my 3DS from it.
Haven't ever really needed to yet though as my 3DS's battery seems to last long enough most of the time.

You're all CRAZY! The 3DS isn't 1:1 you liar. It's 1:6. And my 3DS charges for 3 hours and lasts for nine(brightness on third level, power saving mode on) even with HARDCORE INSANELY INTENSE play, contrary to what Nintendo says.

Define what "hardcore insanely intense play" means on a 3DS...

I've never gotten even remotely CLOSE to 9 or 10 hours on my 3DS. I generally run it down after about 4 or 5 hours, tops!

Plain old gamer :)

komicturtle

Thatms what I'm saying- release a battery that gives us 10 hours max at least. Sell it for $20 or whatever.

In a day, the only way I've run mine down when starting from fully charged was by closing it with the wifi switched on.

I'm ok with the battery right now. I don't play in 3D very often, and when I do I'm at home so why does it matter? Turn the power saving mode on, and turn the brightness down a couple notches. When you're not using it, turn the wireless off. You can get more battery power by just doing this. I don't play my 3DS for long periods of time, so I charge it maybe once a week. My DSi XL (which I play excessively) gets charged maybe once a week as well. Maybe it's just me, but battery life isn't a huge deal!

Though, if Nintendo did release a better battery I would consider purchasing it. I have a feeling after this holiday season my 3DS is going to be getting a lot more play.

On topic: I agree that Nintendo should release a better battery. so we don't run into any trouble with voiding the warranty... then again Nintendo warns about using screen protectors (even the once they licensed) .

Nintendo has to be the most hypocritical company ever.

"Hey, you can buy some officially licensed 3DS screen protectors, but if anything happens we won't fix it."

Has anyone bought that Nyko battery? I'm wondering if that things makes the 3DS bigger, or changes the shape? I'm gathering from some of the comments that it does. From what little I've played of the system the battery life seems abysmal. I keep in sleep mode for spot pass and what not, but that seems to drain the battery.

That's actually 1:3 because 9/3 = 3, not 6. Secondly, the 2-3 hour battery life only applies when everything is set to max (brightness, spotpass, 3D, etc.)

Oocha-mama.

Anyhow, I don't see any reason why anyone would play with full brightness settings, Spotpass on, full 3-D and the whole shebang on at once. Really, I think the battery life is good enough; the people complaining just need to realise how to manage.

Fine, yes, it sucks. But make do with what you have, and I'd advise people not to go tampering and changing batteries, using other stuff apart from what's supplied and all. Sure, it's your choice, but it's a little risky, and you could end up with no 3DS instead of a 3DS with an annoying battery.

I've never even seen the red light on my 3DS. Of course I usually only play it for about an hour (2 tops) before chucking it into its cradle. And ofc I never use the 3D. :3

Well, I'd love to smash a PSVita... lease it'd be easier to break and take no effort where a 3DS not so much :3

But yes, people. Manage your battery better.

Playing Zelda for 15 hours, I only charged once. And no, I'm not saying I got 10 hours without a charge, but I'm just saying in that amount of time, I charged once (have to clarify because some people have issues reading things carefully).

A 1350mah or 1500mah (okay, I really want a 2040mah) battery would be sweet. The less charging I do, the less I have to worry about the battery life dropping immensely.
