Mr_Reece commented on Round Table: Let's Talk About a Year of 3DS:

@ChosenOne25 I'm not a Vita fanboy. I don't even own one; handheld-wise, I just own a 3DS. I was merely pointing out that 3DS devs should stop trying to shoehorn ports onto the system — because the Vita is far better suited to them — and actually do something that makes use of the 3DS' capabilities.

I just spent on and off around 52 hours downloading DC Universe Online. So until my area of Cardiff can get fibre optic broadband — at a reasonable price; my brother pays £30+ a month for it; I pay £50 a month for Sky+ TV, broadband, phone and line rental... who's getting the better deal there? — I'd rather the industry continues to lean more towards physical media than digital downloads.

Mr_Reece commented on Feature: 3DS Games You'll Probably Never Play:

@Tare Duke Nukem Forever sucked because 3D Realms spent 14 years making it though, and it got left behind technologically and in terms of cultural relevance. If it had come out in 1998/99 when it was supposed to it would have been groundbreaking.

@everyone It'd be remiss of me to not remind you all that a 6/10 in no way means the game is awful. If you have nothing against the series and its hit and miss nature, you'll probably love M&S London 2012. But its faults needed to be addressed in the review for those readers who have no prior experience with these games.

Remember: 6/10 = "not bad"

Mr_Reece commented on Talking Point: The Future of Pokémon:

@Krishaa you're perhaps getting just a tad worked up here. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with your views on StreetPass trading; you just didn't seem to initially comprehend how the Internet trading worked (ie. unless you've specifically connected to one person, Internet trading does not work in real time). I'm not saying StreetPass trading should replace Internet trading, I actually said in the article that perhaps trading could extend to use this particular function of the 3DS.

I'm not being argumentative. After all, I asked for your opinions. Whether you agree or disagree is irrelevant. My only aim is to promote discussion which, judging by the 100+ comments, I've achieved. I don't value your opinion any less than anyone else's.

Mr_Reece commented on Talking Point: The Future of Pokémon:

@WhiteMage75 I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Of course, you could by all means be a Pokémon fan despite having not played the RPGs. However, in my eyes, if you're a true hardcore fan of what the series is all about, it's the RPGs that really float your boat, with any of the innumerable spin-offs merely being there to satiate you until the next generation of RPGs rolls around. That's what I was getting at.

Also, while I don't always respond, I always make a point of reading every comment posted on whatever I write, even if I haven't responded. Unfortunately, writing for NLife isn't my actual job, so I have lots of other stuff going on and don't necessarily have the time to respond to every comment made. But trust me, I do read everything. :)

@Nilkad_Naquada lol I couldn't tell you mate. We don't use currency like that anymore. In fact, I made that statement on the basis that thrupence eightpenny was a small amount of money, when it could very well be a shedload of money.

That's your homework for tonight: find out the modern value of thrupence eightpenny in both GBP and USD.

I'm glad someone got some enjoyment out of it. I, on the other hand, shall be contacting my Union representative.

Or possibly National Accident Helpline.

Mr_Reece commented on Rumour: Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Sequel f...:

This would be a good opportunity for Sega and Sumo to properly capitolise on Sega's rich heritage. The first game had a great roster of characters, but so many franchises weren't represented in track form: OutRun, Shenmue, Phantasy Star, Virtua Fighter, the list goes on. More variation in the tracks would be nice too. Was there any need for three of each type of Sonic course, for example?

Mr_Reece commented on Feature: Celebrating 10 Years of Animal Crossing:

I owned Animal Crossing on GCN and I never really got on with it. I tried playing for just 20 minutes a day, and I tried spending hours at a time with it to see if it would click... but it didn't. Its innovation and desire to bring millions of gamers together into a real community should certainly be commended, but for me there's something that I can never put my finger on that stops it from gelling with me.

Mr_Reece commented on Review: Michael Jackson: The Experience 3D (3DS):

To be fair, that's probably got something to do with the fact that — at its core — it's a dancing game. It's not great by any stretch of the imagination, but I was actually genuinely surprised at how well The Experience on 3DS turned out.

Mr_Reece commented on Review: Sonic Generations (3DS):

I almost picked this up today, but remembering how Dimps added the homing attack to Classic Sonic's repertoire of moves — instead of keeping the move exclusive to Modern Sonic, a la the 360/PS3 versions — is putting me right off, no matter how much I'd like to play through the 3DS version's set of levels.

Maybe when it goes down in price I'll take a look.

Mr_Reece commented on Review: F1 2011 (3DS):

I wouldn't worry about it. Every console has a few gems hidden within a sea of crap in their first year. After that, third party developers tend to get a better grip on the hardware and the good/bad game ratio evens out a bit.

Mr_Reece commented on Review: F1 2011 (3DS):

@BalrogtheMaster As I said, the bumper car AI ruins this game. If this had been an arcade racer, this would have been more tolerable, but not here. Have you ever been watching F1 and seen 20+ drivers all ramming into each other and trying to clip each others' wheels?

Mr_Reece commented on F1 2011:

I wholeheartedly agree. Its graphics are definitely rubbish, it's definitely a racing game and it's definitely on 3DS. But a good game?

No.

Review soon.

@Radixxs - Thank you, I really do appreciate that :)

And the controls are tighter than... well, I can't really use an analogy of that caliber on here. But trust me, they're tight; not once during my playthrough did I feel cheated by sloppy controls. Even the trickiest situations can feasibly be gotten through on your first go

@Burny - They're all supported. The remote/nunchuck combo or the classic controller are your best bet. I used the remote/nunchuck for the majority of my playthrough.
