looks AMAZING

From what I've seen and read around the web it looks as if Bravely Default is indeed a mild sequel or successor to The 4 Warriors of Light.

Wow, they look similar. That girl kinda looks like Tifa... A lot like her, actually...

Looks brilliant. I'm really impressed by it and honestly I expected the rumoured 4 Heroes of the Light 2 to look like a DS port(and this is pretty clearly 4HoL2).

I also think it's interesting that it seems to be focused on singular characters. Very interested.

A spiritual successor at least.

It would be nice if Bravely Default got a short tie-in manga series as it looks like the sort of game that SHOULD expand itself into other mediums like an animation short, manga, clothing, trading cards and key-rings with figurines.

Anyway, I'm soooo excited about it !

COuld be good depending how they handle boss fights. If they go their special way of the last many years it will wear out its welcome to me fast, but if it's honest battles this could be really fun.

You probably wonder what I mean right? They've been moving towards (FF3 DS bucked that trend, sadly ruined FF4 my fav though) where all boss fights and a few random dungeon beasts have patterns, and if you don't only use allowed attacks and when you get a horrible 1 shot beat down attack that kills or cripples making it a lost cause. I hate that, it's not skill based, it's selling strategy guide based.

When a game is called "Bravely Default", you KNOW some big S!%T is going down!

OT: The game looks interesting enough, and the 3DS needs more original games for it.

Most anticpared game coming out of tgs. I hope this gets localized. Also even though it uses a simlar art styke as %our heroes oflight this seems to have a more traditional battle style.

During the Tokyo Game Show last week, Inside Games was able to quiz Square Enix's Tomoya Asano about his newest RPG, Bravely Default Flying Fairy for 3DS. Here are some of the main points made by Asano during the interview:

The Girl

The girl who appears in the illustration you see on this page is one of the game's four main characters. She's also the girl from the AR movie.

Battle System

The game's battle system mixes jobs and abilities. It's close to Final Fantasy V in image. Like a "standard RPG," it will have random encounters and will be turn-based.

The Name

Inside pointed out that the game's subtitle, "Flying Fairy," can be shortened as "FF," which is also the short form of Final Fantasy. Asano joked that this wasn't on purpose. In the main visual, there's a light that can be seen above the heroine. This the "flying fairy" of the subtitle.

Ah, I was VERY excited. Hmph.
I just can't take random encounters anymore. It's old. I've done hundreds of hours of that crap. It cannot be that hard to show me where the enemy is.

Meh I like a balance of random enconters and seeing enemies. Looking at the trailers and the aereas your in, is more of a throwback to the snes games so the way the enviorment is styled goes great with random encounters.

make them appear random on the map, but make them visible!!! dragonquest 9 did it perfectly.

I was excited before for this game, but now that I know it's a sequel to 4 warriors of light I can't wait!! I loved that game. I see the resemblance so much now, and love that they went all out with the graphics rather than making it look retro and new at the same time. I hope this comes stateside!

Am I the only one who mistook the title for Beauty Default during the actual Nintendo 3DS Conference that night? It was so late and I was so very sleepy that when the camera came up panning over that almost erotic amazing girl in white image my brain automatically read the screen caption as Beauty Default.

However, I seriously hope they change the title from Bravely Default because while it might sound hilarious it is also a very ridiculous title to say the very lest and that is only putting it mildly.

I'm quite sure that the when game come comes to America and the UK there will be a name change as I'm sure they know people on the Western side of things won't find Bravely Default appealing. Who wants to Bravely Default on their mortgage? Flying Faries? Treasure Hunters? Guy's who have their stock up on Wall Street?
