Please, tell me more about how i should learn to laugh when I've been insulted instead of oh, i dunno, maybe you owning up to it, apologizing for having been rude in the first place, and then moving on with the actual topic at hand.

Wow this discussion got out of hand quickly...

I went to Destructoid's forum once years ago, but I don't recall it having a very friendly atmosphere, though. I don't know how it compared to the comment section years ago, either. Maybe it's improved? Guess I'll keep it in mind if I ever get the urge to go forum hunting again.

On-Topic:

I can understand why some people might dislike the fanservice. Hell, I don't care much for anime fanservice, either, though I do tolerate it. Nobody has to like it, and it's only my opinion, built from my own limited experience, that it doesn't effect people.

However, as has been said numerous times throughout the thread, this game really isn't that bad. It's T for teen, and I don't think minor innuendo, pantie-shots and bouncing breasts are gonna do more to teenagers than make them giggle. I've seen far worse examples out there of objectification in various media from all parts of the world, even for stuff aimed at younger audiences (hell, I grew up watching some of that stuff. I often question how Sailor Moon and Space Jam ever got approved for kids). You don't have to like it, but it's really not much of a problem.

Ok, so you think its bad and don't like it. Now why do you think that NOONE should be able to play it? Why do people think that their opinion of something should affect everyone else? How about focusing your energies on things that actually are harmful to kids, instead of something some kid may or may not see.

This game is kind of an interesting case. At first glance, I thought it was satire. It looked as if it was making fun of how Japanese media loves to please its audience by going to any ridiculous means necessary, to the point of integrating fanservice into the game mechanics.

However, after looking at the developer comments... I don't think this was intended to be satirical. It's doing what it does because the developers like this kind of stuff. So now I don't know what to think, because from that perspective, I find it to be kind of weird. Sort of how I used to look at Dead or Alive. At first I thought the series was making fun of people to a certain extent that would buy scantily-clad figurines. After all, the character models looked like Porcelain dolls, not people. Then Dead or Alive 5 came out and the girls looked more realistic, which changed things from looking funny to kind of creepy, since the fanservice remained. Which then made me look at Team Ninja as a bunch of kind of creepy people. If it weren't for DOA 5's fantastic mechanics, I might not have gotten over it.

So yeah, I really don't know. On one hand, it kind of reminds me of that terrible Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, "Jingle All The Way," in that it was unintended satire. On the other hand, this is kind of a creepier subject matter.

I guess I could be called opposed to it, but it's not morally. After reading the manga adaptation, I absolutely loathe the characters. They're pathetic in the extreme. Bleh.

Why does hard porn need a gateway? That makes no sense. Everything has a gateway.

Keep in mind that Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony do not want adult contents on their console. So only way the game will include adult contents by releasing on PC only. I'm not sure about Steam policy to be honest.

Who cares, its a video game, enjoy it or move on...kinda like with anime.

Moreover, why is it even "perverse?" What qualifies as "perverse?" Anything containing some level of fanservice? Does classic cheesecake from World War II count as something perverse?

Not in my experience. I didn't need some sort of intermediary between innocence and porn consumption when I was a youngin'. I hit puberty, stumbled across a Sailor Moon hentai site purely by accident, realized that it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen in my young life, and it all went from there. Do you have any proof that there needs to be some sort of "gateway" to hard porn consumption?

Look, if you want to make claims, you ideally need some reason for believing those claims. Those claims require justification of some sort.

@Mizore: I guess they care because they don't want to see those contents in eShop when they are browsing the online shopping.

Now I mention it, maybe the new solution to have parent control for consoles or services to EXCLUDED the contents in the shop rather than preventing users to access it.

Its not like they'll be able to see anything on the eShop without downloading a demo or watching a video...and that's where the lock would come in, lol

De-listing from the eShop would outright prevent sales, even under parental consent. Not a viable option.

I'm actually disliking this thread wayyy more than the number of negative Wii U threads on this site.
Senran Kagura isn't being offensive to anybody! There's wayyy worse games than Senran Kagura! Sheesh!
If I was a woman and I saw Senran Kagura.... I would actually laugh at the game because of how silly it is!

Amusingly enough, almost all of the women I've shown the game to think it is hilarious. Because it is ridiculous and fun.

@CaviarMeths: That is true as well but they still can't get an sale if Parent Control are in because it is locked. They have to disabled or lightening up Parent Control to buy this game depending on ERSB rating.
