Angry Birds Headed to 3DSWare by Andy Goergen - February 5, 2011 - 12:38 P.M.
The popular mobile game is headed to the third dimension.
Rovio Mobile has confirmed via their Twitter account that they will be bringing Angry Birds to Nintendo 3DS via the eShop. When asked which versions of the game would be making their way to the handheld, they replied "we would bring all 3 current Angry Birds games over..." referring to Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio.
Angry Birds has become one of the most popular games on mobile platforms such as iPhone and Android, and was confirmed for WiiWare last year. http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/25072?

It does seem like a game that would work well on the 3DS ... but hopefully they wouldn't charge too much. It's not that I mind paying for 3DSware games, but so many people have already played it on their phones for either free or a small fee. I don't know how many would want to pay a lot of it on a 3DS.

@Victoria - The DSiWare version of Cut the Rope is still selling well here in NA despite being 5x the price of its iOS counterpart; they're be people to buy Angry Birds for their 3DS at a similar price.
@Birdman13 - Or really? I didn't know that. I'm very new to the phone-gaming world. And I still get pretty annoyed at people who think games on their 3DS should be free because it's free on their phones. I can just see people moaning because they "have" to pay for Angry Birds on a 3DS and why should they "have" to do that.

If the price is not over 5$ and they bring out the 4 of them in the same pack I would buy it even if I have them for "free" on my Android phone... At least I the advertisment will be off and 4 games / .99 on iphone it's almost the same price as 5$ for all of them (and probably 3D effect too) on 3DS would be ok for me...

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Well, they DID diss Nintendo with the completely illogical argument that "Who wants to pay $30 for a piece of plastic" compared to 99 cents for ones and zeros.
I honestly wonder if they're still making it, but hey, I LOATHE the AB series, so all the merrier with it gone.
This is a signature.
Link goes here now.
Screw you.
Well, I for one hate Angry Birds and how popular it is, but one thing they could do is have the normal Angry Birds gameplay on the bottom screen and a first person view on the top screen. That would be some effective 3D. Of course, since Angry Birds is a crappy budget game there's no way the effort would be put in doing that.

It might be improved by aiming with the circle pad instead of with a touchscreen. It would have a nice release to it that would feel more natural. I had already thought about Angry Birds fitting well on 3DS, so I'm not surprised they've made the move to actually do it.

Now confirmed... But as a retail... Wow strange move...

I've played Airport Mania, Cut The Rope and Zenonia, for both iOS and DSi/3DS, and they all have significantly better controls in the eShop than on the iPhone. Therefore, I will try Angry Birds if it is a download as well.

As a download and for MAX 10$ maybe... But since il will be on the "49$ plastic things" they'll probably more than happy to make us buy if full + over price...
