Are guys fine with playing your 3DS on the train. It just came out and it's a hot item. I recently got robbed of my psp 3000 and want to get a 3ds then a psp 2. My main priority is a 3ds now but I'm scared to play it outside especially bus or train without someone snagging it. 250 dollars you know and 3d pretty scary to lose that in a flash. Some advice would be nice.
To achieve something, it takes more than practice, it takes believe and confidence that you will succeed.

Why not just keep an eye on your 3DS? If I go out to a crowded area, I keep my 3DS in a little pouch in my hand at all times.

If your around unfriendly people, then keep it in your pocket. If its safe, then enjoy it.
Only time I was almost robbed on the train, is when I was 10, and playing with my GameBoy color.Lucky, a heavy backpack makes a good weapon.

I play the 3DS on a train every day of the week on my commute to and from work...no problems.

Can't believe people are actually that mean. Makes me sad. Luckily I live in Florida and not some big city place.

@Teejay...mean people don't just live in cities.

I play mine on the train, but the bouncing really wreaks havoc with the 3D effect. Stupid Long Island Rail Road.

I prefer this:
I would play my 3DS on a train if I had one. You just have to make sure it stays in your hands/close enough to your skin to notice when some creep is trying to take it.

I never take my 3DS out of my house. Not because it will get stolen, I'm afraid it will get damaged .

You should use a wrist wrap when playing it
I'm tempted to use my DS Phat's wrist wrap and connect it to my 3DS
Oh, and I put Parental Locks so if it does get stolen, they can't play games higher than EC, or access eShop, Friend's List, Internet Browser, etc. My 3DS is locked
All my precious games- they won't be able to access. They're going to have to re-format the system and have a bare 3DS. Not sure they actually can if I have parental controls on it,

Sad story, Fujin. I didn't have a problem with playing my GBA SP (Zelda edition) on the train back in the 2005 days. But it may depend on the people that are around you and how intimidating you look. I can understand that you don't want to get robbed of it.
That sure would help if the ones who robbed it don't know how to get around the lock. If the police finds the system your personal code would be a good hint that the system is really yours.

I would suggest using a wrist strap, setting up parental controls,
and if you do put it in your pocket, put one of your hands in the same pocket (but NEVER in your back pocket! Not only would it be easier to steal, but it could get ruined if you sit on something hard.)

What's the point of a portable system if you can't play during your commute? Most of the time, stuff isn't taken by force, but by stealth. Don't leave it in an open bag and take a quick nap on the train. If you're not playing it, keep it out of sight and if you have a bag, make sure it's zipped closed. If you will close your eyes, hold onto the bag. If you keep it in a pocket, don't put it in your back pocket. It's more difficult to steal from a front pocket.

I play mine on the train all the time. It's the LIRR (Long Island Rail Road in New York). Luckily, i've never seen any shifty characters on the line i'm on.

I don't really play my 3DS on the train (unless I'm home-bound) but usually, I'm in 3DS Sound bopping my head to some good tunes while the system is in my pocket.
NYC Subway here, so I'm very wary of people.
