I'm afraid it really is quite likely that console ownership is going to go the way of vinyl records, a niche for the discerning customer. The big warning sign will be when all new TVs are wirelessly connectable to smartphones. Once that happens, we'll be in a very different world when it comes to gaming.
I bought the game two years ago but only really started playing online when I heard it was going to be shut down. The single player campaign has all the same quests I've encountered in the online version (though I only got to HR 19) and you can pause it
I had this on CPC....seem to remember hitting stale mate on my 10th alien. Wonder if it was a bug or just me failing. Remembered loving Purple Saturn Day waaaaaay more....that was one of the best looking CPC games.
If I had the money, I'd be tempted....but I don't have a HD TV yet and feel that might be the next upgrade for me. Still got 3 more Wii games that I haven't yet bought and feel I need to get them first before I relegate the Wii.
Also, isn't HMV, you know, closing? The store near me is. This might be a closing down sale deal....
I don't think it's NIntendo's fault but the market is changing, so I think it is now clear there will be no repeat of the Wii's success. However, Nintendo does have a loyal audience who appreciate both the recurring characters, the sense of continuity and the innovation of Nintendo's consoles. Whether or not that is sufficient is something only Nintendo knows.
This is so silly. I'm a pro-animal rights vegetarian BUT IT'S ONLY A GAME FOR FLIPS SAKE. I think PETA have done so much to damage the cause with their stupid behaviour over so many things and this is just another example.
I'm sorry folks but until every single Wii U owner buys a Pro Controller, then mentioning it's existence is not a good enough counter-argument. At least the developer is not trying to palm us off with a poor, sloppy port.
Yeah, I reckon it's just a case of Nintendo offering different bundles. There'll be a vanilla one that comes with no Wiimotes and no software. See, people who already own a Wii won't need a bundle that includes them. I'm guessing there'll be a vanilla bundle. a bundle with with Nintendo Land and a bundle with Nintendo Land and Wiimotes.
Angry Birds is a great, great game but it is free on Android. I've not finished it yet, so I've not moved onto the other ones, so don't know if they're free or not but I doubt they're cartridge priced. And why not the 4th game? I guess this release is strictly for the money
The Amstrad CPC! That was my old home computer. I only played Zombi on one of those budget compilations that came without instructions so it was impossible to play."Zombi" was, of course, the name for George Romeros classic horror film "Dawn Of The Dead" on continental Europe and Ubisofts' game was an unofficial tie-in with the film, featuring the same plot, setting and imagery.
sigh. To be honest, I did expect this...but it still stings. I think MH3 is probably my favourite Wii game of all time but I know no-one else who has heard of it. Huff! Maybe we should copy that American Operation Thunderbolt or whatever it was called thingamajig?
I must not have been paying attention properly because I didn't realise "Pinball Arcade" offered tables that actually existed. Now I'll have to buy a copy. Especially if they get "The Twilight Zone", "Star Trek: Next Generation" or the "Indiana Jones" one. Damn those machines must have had a pretty large ammount of money off me
boring. I assummed the reason no proper P/M had been announced for the 3DS was because they were wating for B/W sales to die down. This announcement is just.....underwhelming. Hello, it is 2012?
If Nintendo had not given away an old FE game on the 3DS then I might have been pessimistic about this going West but with the suprise appearance of The Sacred Stones on the 3DS ambassador giveaway, I think there is a very serious chance of this coming our way.
1.I didn't know there was a Fire Emblem planned for 3DS 2.I hadn't even realised there was a "free map" for the Sacred Stones...after all, it was still a linear quest. The "free" map just let you select the next scene/battle
Still, looking forward to it. Hope they get difficulty right. Radiant Dawn was too easy on easy and too hard on normal. Can't even imagine it on hard.
they've not launched? My 3DS asked me if I wanted to connect to Nintendo Zone the other weekend when I was in Bradford Interchange. I said yes, it installed the Nintendo Zone programme and then told me it couldn't find it. It was a bit puzzling.
Taken up the free trial. All I can say is, they better have about 5 times more content by the end of this month if they want my money. Does stream without interruption, though, unlike iPlayer which is always bleating on about bandwidth and errors at the worst possible moment.
hmmmm, have the NES version on my Wii (and finished it). Ended up with the game again on my GBA by not realising "Nightmare in Dreamland" was a remake. To be honest, going back to the NES version looks a bit crude compared to the beauty of "Nightmare in Dreamland". So.....let's see the review of FreakyForms...
I am suprised at no Kid Icarus. Seems very odd. Some fluff there. Some gold. Couple of games I already have on my Wii VC or GBA but what the hell, thanks.
But why did people think Super Mario Bros 2 or 3 would be on there? Surely if they were to give those games away, they'd give us the superior GBA versions with SNES graphics and save features [they were known as Super Mario Advance and Super Mario Advance 4]?
Say what? I'm going to get 20 free games? Wow, consider me officially sweetened. To be honest, I was expecting a price cut of exactly this size after the slow sales, so when I read about it today in the paper, I didn't bat an eyelid. I have a beast of a commute to work, so Ghost Recon and now Ocarina of Time have been a massive help. As I explained to friends, this is the first time I've bought a console so early in it's life. I've seen it all before, so I knew by Christmas the price would have dropped but I knew it was going to be a life-saver and I also reasoned that by getting in there early, I could try and keep up to date with the classic games that come out as they come out.
No. I love Majora's Mask, it is an absolute classic but.....
....we need NEW Zelda.
I love Ocarina of Time on the 3DS and it makes perfect sense to do an upgraded remake for a new system (Just like they did with Zelda DX for gameboy colour & Link to the Past for GBA) in it's early days as you don't have to plan & prepare too much BUT the next step needs to be a brand new classic Zelda!
