I sincerely hope this doesn’t spell the permanent end of Nintendo Direct. In recent years, I feel it had taken on a deeper meaning as an homage to Iwata-san, and this would be an undeserved end to what has been otherwise entirely enjoyable messaging from Nintendo on upcoming products.
@retro_player_77 Oh, I don’t mean to hate on it, really. I’m quite happy with both libraries on Switch. But there do seem to be some strange omissions, nearly two years in. And I suspect much of that is largely out of Nintendo’s hands.
It sure does seem like Nintendo has had a hard time licensing more desirable titles for either the NES or SNES libraries. That said, the SNES version of Wild Guns is a welcome addition.
Unfortunate that it sounds like Future Connected is a bit of a tack-on addition, but my goodness, I can’t wait to see how the rest of this version looks and plays.
I tried this game on iPhone when it came out, and while the production quality was commendable for a F2P mobile game, it just wasn’t that much fun to play for very long. The barrier to entry is low, at least, and may scratch that occasional Elder Scrolls itch for a few minutes, but for your time, I’d say you’re probably going to get more out of a proper RPG — not the least of which being Skyrim itself.
This seems to be pervasive across the industry, not just to Nintendo; the most recent Inside Xbox seems to have been underwhelming for fans (I can’t speak to it myself, I’m solely a Nintendo player these days), and Sony has announced next to nothing about PS5. I’m content to know that Nintendo has more up its sleeves, and not feel particularly entitled to demand more than that.
@johnvboy Good to know! I didn’t play that one, but fingers crossed The Skywalker Saga has similar performance. The issue I usually had with Switch LEGO games was frame rate, more than resolution. If they pull it off, my thumbs are ready.
I sincerely hope this shows performance improvement over prior LEGO releases on Switch. Star Wars is far and away my favorite licensed LEGO property, really looking forward to this!
I wonder if this guidance is related to a potential Switch XL in the works to counter the decline in sales of the base model, but impacted by constraints on manufacturing and shipping.
@jtmnm It’s been a good year, but I think the year 2000 would like its title back. Final Fantasy IX, Chrono Cross, Vagrant Story, Dragon Quest VII, Wild Arms 2, Breath of Fire IV, Lunar 2, Persona 2, just to name a few.

Re: Project Warlock Will Bring DOOM And Duke Nukem-Style Retro FPS Action To Switch Soon
I’ve been hoping for a port of Hexen or Hexen II at some point, but this looks like it’ll do nicely.
Re: It Doesn't Sound Like A Nintendo Direct Will Be Happening Anytime Soon
@BabyYoshi65 Only one way to find out, I suppose.

Re: Paper Mario Is Coming To Switch! Paper Mario: The Origami King To Launch This July
Well, if that wasn’t one hell of a Metroid tease at the end...
This looks amazing! Awesome that it launches soon, too. Nintendo nailed the “surprise and delight” on this one.

Re: LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Expected To Launch This October
@Reigestugatensho I hope it’s great, too! LEGO Star Wars is too much fun.

Hoping this isn’t the start of a trend going forward, as the next gen starts getting underway...

Re: That Rumoured HD Remaster Of The Mass Effect Trilogy Might Be Coming To Switch
I will be so sad if this skips Switch. Mass Effect 3 may not have sold well on Wii U, but that’s mostly because nothing sold well on Wii U.
Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Major Switch Games, And It's A Pretty Small List
Thank goodness Xenoblade will probably take me all year to fully complete.

The more I look at this, the more it feels like a full-on remake, instead of just a simple remaster. Absolutely can’t wait!
