Re: Review: Kirby's Epic Yarn (Wii)

suburban_sensei

This 10/10 rating is not overrated one bit. Came home with my copy around 10:30 am...been playing it for over 2 hours, and I still feel like I want to go back and collect things in the first couple worlds. Everything from the art work to the music is so charming...I am not kidding when I say it's my favorite game on the Wii this year.

Re: Review: NBA Jam (Wii)

Good review. I am really interested in this game, since I adored the original. However, with quite a few games coming out his month as well as in November, I think I will wait for a price cut.

Re: Review: Shantae: Risky's Revenge (DSiWare)

Nice job, Corbie! I agree with your score 100%, it is a perfect 10 in my book. After downloading the game, I was just worried it wouldn't live up to the hype, but in the first few minutes I noticed that the amount of polish and fun were top notch. Anybody who does not have this gem on their DSi menu, is really missing out.

Re: Nintendo Download: 4th October 2010 (North America)

I just got home from work and downloaded Shantae The excitment has built for so long! What really stinks though, is I had maybe an hour or two sleep at the most last night, so I am probably gonna nap before I even play the game...im THAT out of it, at the moment. I am just so freaking excited it's finally arrived!

Re: 3DS Launches Feb. 26 in Japan

suburban_sensei

I am with Dodger on this one. I know a lot of people wanted a Holiday release, but I really don't have the cash right now to buy the 3DS with. By March, I can easily save enough for the portable as well as a plethora of launch titles and VC titles. We have enough great games until then to keep us busy.

Re: 3DS To Get Revamped Online Shop

suburban_sensei

This is very exciting to hear, since I gave my Game Boy Color to a friend years ago, and missed it ever since. Also, I hope that when the virtual console on the 3DS starts up, it has the steam that the Wii VC started with (around 3 games a week.)

Re: Shantae: Risky's Revenge Soundtrack Now Available

suburban_sensei

Just downloaded it, and it is very good and making me extremely anxious for the 4th of Oct. to arrive. I don't think anybody should feel like a jerk for clicking "Get it Free", since the game is more expensive than normal DSiWare games, I see it like a "bonus" they are letting us have.

Re: Review: GO Series: 10 Second Run (DSiWare)

suburban_sensei

I totally agree with this review, a very strong 7. Just downloaded the game on a whim, and I am really glad I did, because this is very pick-up-and-play much like Pop Island: Paperfield. Nothing beats the excitement of finishing a level JUST in the nick of time...seriously on level 10 or 11, I finished with 0.01 left on the clock.

Re: Nintendo Download: 20th September 2010 (North America)

suburban_sensei

I still have 1,000 Nintendo points on my DSi, so I could buy 10 Second Run and still have points left over for Shantae (being a scrooge and saving my points). Aero the Acrobat 2 got a good review on the site, but eh, not sure if I am in the mood for a platformer, since I am playing Ufouria, at the moment.

Re: Expect La Mulana to be Really, Really Hard

suburban_sensei

I love a good challenge, but if the game is so hard that I get frustrated, put the controller down, and never play again...well, that's a huge problem. Regardless, I think the game will be a lot of fun, and I hope we see it soon (It is a Nicalis game, so I won't hold my breath.)

Re: Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Nets a Best Audio Award

suburban_sensei

Recently on a few podcasts I have heard decent things about the game. When it gets cheaper, I really want to pick it up, or if it's short maybe just rent it for a week. It's great that it has such wonderful audio, because to me, a survival horror's audio is 90% of the reason you get so into it.

Re: Serious Metroid: Other M Bug Requires Total Restart

suburban_sensei

I actually saw a user on Youtube post a video explaining this awhile ago, and luckily I was already past that point. I could imagine how upsetting it would be to get to that point in the game and realize that all of your efforts were in vain. I have actually blown through and beaten the game, and was surprised that I didn't run into that bug "by accident". Great game overall, even with this somewhat crippling bug.

Re: Review: Super Smash Bros. Melee (GameCube)

suburban_sensei

Melee is so great! Even to this day, I change it up a bit, and switch between both Melee and Brawl (and when I feel like going old-school I pop on the original on my VC menu). I think I liked some of the levels in Melee more than in Brawl; always thought Poke Floats was really cool.

Re: Review: Professor Layton and the Unwound Future (DS)

suburban_sensei

@EggMiester: Yes, while some of the puzzles can easily stump the player, I think that at the same time, it makes the game extremely rewarding. I remember in the other two games, there were times were I spent quite some time on just one puzzle, but getting it right on that first try gave me a feeling of accomplishment that I don't usually get with most games.

Re: And Yet It Moves Competition Winners

suburban_sensei

Congrats to the winners! I had bought a 2,000 points card and picked up Ufouria: The Saga, and saved the rest for AYIM, but didn't want to buy it yet, JUST in case I won the contest...looks like I can go d/l it now

Re: N+

suburban_sensei

I agree, Pixelman. I can't believe I got this game for $5 new, because I would of gladly paid full price for this gem, its soooo fun.

Re: Review: Metroid: Other M (Wii)

suburban_sensei

Glad to see you guys gave it a high score. Before picking it up today I was REALLY worried, since the reviews were so mixed. I am still in the begging parts of the game, but I really love it. Sure it feels different, but I am glad to have something like this after three (great) Prime games.
