No matter who has the highest score, I still really admire Steve Weibe. He was just a really cool, genuine guy in King of Kong, and I hope he can one up this guy.
I know of a few podcasts that were talking about how wonderful this game is. People on the podcast that weren't even huge DS fans, so that says something about the quality of the game. I think I see a purchase in the near future .
This article has me SO excited for the game now. The fact that it seem's old school, yet you point at the screen to fire missiles in FP-mode...that sounds really fresh.
I am with #23. Mike, on this one. The WiiWare is going to outsell the VC, regardless, because the number of VC games every week is dwindling. I for one would spend 10 dollars on a VC game, before I would a WiiWare title, the only WW titles I have our the AAA ones (Mega Man 9, NyxQuest, LostWinds, etc).
That table-top Donkey Kong Jr. one is pretty slick! Also, in that photo of Gunpei Yokoi, it looks like you can see footage of the Virtual Boy. Little did he know what a disaster that would be!
Looks like soon I will need to get to pre-ordering these puppies! I am taking next semester off of school, so these AAA titles couldn't have hit at a better time.
A new Rogue Squadron game would be music to my ears, but I find it unlikely. Also, since I own Rogue Squadron 2 and 3 on Gamecube, I wouldn't pick up a "new play control" version.
@ejamer: Don't waste your time on Staff of Kings. I am a loyal and forgiving Indy fan (I found things to enjoy in Crystal Skull even!) and I couldn't stand SoK one bit. Just go to Steam and make an account, you can get Fate of Atlantis for $5. I did that, and got rid of SoK in a heartbeat...its rubbish.
This is awesome news. I was already excited for Sonic 4, if not a bit skeptical...but now I know it's in good hands. I loved the Rush series (still need to pick up Rush Adventure).
Thats wonderful news! I was going to buy it for the Wii anyways...played the demo of MM9 on my PS3, and couldn't stand it, compared to the WiiMote NES-style controls.
I'm not going to get too worked up over this "big" Nintendo news. Call me cynical, but it's just setting yourself up for disappointment. I hope it's not Sonic in SMG2...that just sounds odd to me.
I love netflix, and already do my instant streaming through my PS3. However, it is great for those with only Wii's to get in on the action. My girlfriends' parents have been Netflix subscribers for sometime now, and this was music to their ears, since they don't want to spend the extra money on a $100 "netflix ready device".
I am stuck on which version to buy. I love my Wii, but I am more inclined to buy the PS3 version when it comes out, since its running at a higher resolution.
Update isn't bad, but nothing I really want. Just another week to maybe catch up on some other old classics, or finish up some games in time for Cave Story.
@DKvsKK: I just looked it up on Amazon. In the US it is called Endless Ocean: Blue World, and it sells for $30. I think I am going to pick up a copy, because the first was fun and relaxing to play. The lower price point also helps, considering this version looks quite a bit better than the first. In fact, thanks for getting the review up so quick, I just pre-ordered myself a copy...can't wait to play it!
@EggMeister Yeah, I don't know how a score of a 7 would translate to GoH being a bad game. IMO, when I really care about a score, usually below a 5 is when you should probably just pass. A 7 is decent, and this looks like darn good RPG.
@BulbasaurusRex I was kind of thinking about DLing this game for a laugh...but to be honest, I agree, just watching a "Let's Play" vid on Youtube, let me feel like I experienced it. The guy doing the vid, had some funny commentary as well (ZetaPlays is his account), so that alone was better to watch than paying $5. Thanks for the warning.
Just picked this game up today for my birthday, and I love it. I played Mario Party 8 on the Wii, and didn't enjoy it as much as previous entries, but something was really great about the DS version. Maybe it is because it reminds me of the originals on the N64 and the fact that its portable. Buy this if you have people to play with, it's a blast!
I don't get too excited for 3-D films (still haven't bothered seeing Avatar), so the 3-D games get the same reaction from me..."meh...". I am somewhat interested in trying that Toy Story Mania game if it ever gets down really cheap (I'm thinking $15 or so), because I believe it is based after a ride at Disney in California.
Pilotwings and Castlevania sound good...but after Christmas I have SO much I am playing...may wait a bit into the new year to download any of these titles.
Just got Pictobits (which is FANTASTIC), so I think I will use my final 500 pts. for this game. I thought it was 800, so I am most pleased to see I can afford it without having to buy more Nintendo Points.
Part of me wanted to buy the series on dvd for nostalgic purposes, because I know it really isn't that great. Nice to see we get it for free on Hulu, though.
I know what I am going to do when I get home today from work! Hopefully it's framerate isn't too big a deal, I really want to play this series on my Wii.
Girlfriend just bought this on her Iphone. It seems fun, but it stinks that the DSi version is twice the price (I believe it was 2 bucks or so on the App Store) Nonetheless, seems decent, and I may have to pick this up.
I am still in the Wily Stages of MM9, so this makes me want to get my butt in gear and finish it before MM10 comes out. The Easy Mode sounds really great, may play through it first on that mode, and try the harder modes as I get better.
Holy crap, I have very fond memories of this game. I remember my friends and I being freaking obsessed with it. If this hits the VC sometime in the near future...I will be a very happy man. .
Downloaded it, and it brings back some good memories, but I forgot how touchy the karts were when it comes to turning. My girlfriend had never played this version, and she'd didn't care for it much, she is more a fan of Mario Kart 64 and Mariokart Wii. Nonetheless, great game, totally worth 800 pts.

I def like the arcade versions more, so I would gladly pick up Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Junior if they were available for the VCA.

Re: Analyst: Nintendo DS2 to be Launched Next Year
Whenever it comes, I would still wait for it to drop in price. I just got my DSi recently and I am quite happy with it.
Re: Project Needlemouse to Focus Solely on Sonic?
@Sonic_Brawler95
That would be great if Mario and Sonic kept their original names. We would have:
Jumpman and Mr. Needlemouse at the Winter Olympics!
