Re: Video: Here's A First-Person Look At Pokémon Legends: Arceus In 'Hisui 360° View'

I am looking forward to this more than I thought I would be. But its definitely more to do with the refresh of battle system and the games options display etc
Other than the pokemon models, the game still looks rough af.
Im starting to think that, even though the pokemon company is rolling in the yen, the team who work on these are poorly trained and actually dont know how to make a good cell shaded tree.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 1.3.0 Patch Notes - Swimming, Diving, Wet Suits And More

stuartc

I obviously welcome any updates and additional content; The more the better!
Along with additional facilities, i really want some improvements on basic things like why cant i sit on the floor like everyone else. especially to fish. why cant i initiate a simple O's + X's game with a villager or ask a villager to follow me.

Dont get me started on the infrequency of redd and his [fake] art ha

Re: Pokémon-Like Nexomon: Extinction Reveals All Nine Starter Monsters

I'm abit confused by the people who said the designs looks like Pokemon designs.
I mean Pokemon designs are based off of real life animals... if you do the same, then you are naturally going to get a design that is similar. eg.all cars look like cars by the nature that no ones diverted from the 'box on 4 wheels with hinged doors to get in and out' concept
When you add in some well known design aesthetics like big heads, small hands are appealing blah blah they are going to further look similar.
You can argue that it has the same cell shaded art style as pokemon (and alot of other jrpg's should I add), but then your argument is based on 1 thing similar to pokemon.

Re: Why Does Nintendo Use Friend Codes Instead Of Screen Names? Leaked Documents Reveal All

stuartc

To me, it always feels like nintendo is a overbearing mother, with maybe a case of Munchausen syndrome by proxy.
1. cant have user names as these could be offensive
2. if we implement a decent messaging service, kids might be attacked.
3. lets keep the eshop, home screen, and overall layout extremely simplified so we dont confuse the children.

Which is fine, but how about coming up with some inventive ways around this? they have no issues with inventing new intuitive IP?

Re: Random: Now Pokémon Sword And Shield Haters Are Asking Trump To Halt Sales Of The Game

stuartc

As ridiculous as appealing to your president is, i suspect generating a smear on company reputation in the industry brought about by a political involvement could negatively impact the strength of Pokemon shares, even with a strong sales figure.
Plus this is America we are talking about here. Political parties are always looking for red herrings to entice and engage constituencies.
violence in gaming, taxes on software...

Radical action usually always stems from inaction. Maybe pokemon company need to pay attention

Re: Pokémon Sword And Shield's Japanese Launch Event Has Been Canned

Honestly, fans are entitled to their stirred emotions specially when they have sunken their childhood/adulthood playing the series, investing time, money, and ultimately enabling Pokemon to be a household name. Look how much the franchise is worth!
My gripe is with the constant bad decisions gamefreak makes. Aren’t they suppose to be the experts who all love Pokemon.
-cuts team in half
-Pokemon half has to cover to some degree both SS and other associating Pokemon games/material
-acknowledges the tall order with HD implementation. Retrain your staff? You knew this was coming!
-choses to cut the dex, doesn’t offer explanation of how the team comes to the decision of what stays and what doesn’t.
-Chooses to focus on introducing new mechanics when time is admittedly constraint
-Terrible PR choices. Still insulted about that 24hr live feed stunt just to show glimpses of ponyta.
Iv speculated a lot of the above. But imagine if GF didn’t do any of those. Pokemon sword and shield would be in way better condition it is looking like

Re: Pokémon Sword And Shield Are Leaking Like A Sieve, Be Safe Out There

stuartc

I personally think this is the first gen where every starter pokemon final evolution is absolutely terrible. Closely followed by gen 5 and then 6. I have to laugh, otherwise id cry.
Some of the leaked pokemon look good. Yet some, to me, dont feel like pokemon at all. I feel similar to some of the ultra beasts. cool designs, but not quite pokemon.

Re: Official Pokémon Sword And Shield Jerseys Are Coming And We Wanna Buy 'Em All

stuartc

@Spudtendo You're right that this isn't the first generation. You do make a good example of a similar genre of games that using the same formula throughout its franchise. Though I would argue that its the quality of the games that keeps the fanbase excited. The overarching story is generally the same and most of the gameplay is to be expected- thats why alot of people buy it into. Its what they like.
The only difference is that I dont think I have ever played a dragon quest game and thought 'Oh, this looks and feels lazy'.

Re: Video: The Latest Pokémon Sword And Shield Video Shows A Railway Town Up Close & Personal

stuartc

Looks better than the other clips we have seen, but im still hopeful for more detailed texture renderings on the finished game.

Also no idea why people are boasting about preordering both copies. all you do is jump into Pokemons lazy/complacent hands. Pokemon should be doing more to comply with loyal fans expectations. They aint going to that if half of the buyers end up buying two copies regardless.
