@Nancyboy Best Buy, Amazon, Target, a locally owned Gaming Store, the Nintendo eShop. How do you pirate the game illegally for the PC? I will let someone with less morals than myself answer that one for you.
@Gamergirl94 The Sports titles are still competently made. Golf, Tennis or Strikers I can play a full game alone or with friends and have fun, the free DLC releases help bring me back to the game when my attention is brought elsewhere (I buy a ton of Switch games). But I didn't play Strikers and get the feeling they are trying to sell me digital card packs, or it had a tacked on unnecessary Campaign, or it ran like garbage (those last three are all digs at Madden). To me to call a game as uncomplete is when its buggy, crashes, difficult or impossible to even finish a round of Golf. But all the sports titles, look beautiful, have solid controls and if you don't go in with a pre-determined negative attitude about them can be a lot of fun.
@mariomaster96
But if all those games still had DLC it means they were incomplete. Also Smash Bros Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe both were basically re-releases of Wii U games with a few extra things. I bought Mario Kart 8 and all it's DLC on the Wii U, so Deluxe for $60 gave me a proper battle mode.
@johnedwin They benefited that the other two systems decided to launch in the height of the chip shortage and couldn't get enough consoles on the shelves to sell. They did benefit from the pandemic as well being the only company not only keeping systems available for purchase but also releasing big first party titles. But evidence shows that pandemic was not the only reason for this Switch's massive success. Prior to the pandemic and after the height of the pandemic the Switch still sells crazy numbers of hardware and software
@MrHonest I know they had the audacity to change me $20 for a flawless port of Portal 1 and 2, those monsters.
But to answer the main question, I think Luigi's Mansion 3 was a game that from start to finish made my jaw hit the floor, also Bioshock Infinite and Witcher 3 running as well as they did on the Switch both shocked me
After playing Breath of the Wild it was of no shock to me that it could play Skyrim. In terms of technical achievement Breath of the Wild is far more complex, sound and designed. Skyrim is a game often praised but aged like a warm glass of milk, it was built on an ancient, even 10 yrs ago, engine that make everything seem out of date almost immediately.
If it wasn't for Fallout 76 people would still blindly believe in Bethesda, thankfully 76 and Starfield's reveal has helped bring people back to reality.
@sixrings I am glad Nintendo doesn't have a good voice chat option on their online games, because they are have to listen to whiners who think they know better than Nintendo on how to make their games
I think Nintendo should adopt the DLC plans of all the other AAA publishers. Release your game for $60 or $70, release 5 versions for a various amounts of money up to $350 for a giant collectors copy without a copy of the game. And then have microtransactions coming out of every pore of the title.
But no you are all right we should yell at Nintendo for releasing with some call uncomplete titles, and doing the free DLC approach. I can't wait for the Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 chart:
Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 Standard Edition (I hope the box says this) - $70
Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 Digital Deluxe Edition (Comes with exclusive pre-order bonuses and part 1 of the Season Pass) - $99
Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 Digital Ultimate Edition (Comes with exclusive pre-order bonuses based on the store you bought it from, the full Gold Season Pass (all three parts), and a digital artbook) - $130
Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 Master Sword Collectors Edition - Comes with a mass produced 1:12 scaled Master Sword, a special Switch carrying case, a leather bound 4x6" artbook, a coin, a copy of the soundtrack in a cardboard sleeve, a cloth map, and a steel case for the game. No copy of the game included - $249
Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 Sheikah Slate Collectors Edition - Comes with a mass produced 1:12 scaled Master Sword, a 1 out of 10,000 statue of Link and Zelda, a special Switch carrying case, a leather bound 4x6" artbook, a coin, a copy of the soundtrack in a cardboard sleeve, a cloth map, and a steel case for the game. No copy of the game included - $349
@Clyde_Radcliffe I love how your line of thinking is the minority because Switch Sports and every other 1st Party Nintendo title has sold like hot cakes (except maybe Arms).
@mariomaster96 I bet you felt that way about Mario Maker 2, Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Zelda Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 2 as well right? All of those had DLC after launch, and only one of them had free DLC. At least with the sports titles none of this DLC is costing you anything.
@sixrings You seem like the type who want to be the best big eSport celebrity and require all games to have some robust offerings. And on that front no we won't see eye to eye. I'm ok with even a bare bones online offerings because I will never pick try hard online dorks over the in person family experience
@sixrings I'm 37 and can afford to pay $60 for a game, find enjoyment in it and move on and play one of my other 300+ games and buy new games. I don't need to obsess when a game isn't made to my exact specifications
@sixrings Some of us interact with friends and family in the real world. In my case we often meet up as a family a couple times a month and love to play games like Mario Strikers. At Launch did it have everything we needed to play a full match of goofy Mario soccer, yes it did. To me that's a successful, fun product. Are they adding free DLC, yup and it didn't make me feel scorned that they are doing this but happy they are bothering you add anything at all.
@WanzerAce I agree if you can't wait for some reason just play the originals. Or better yet, stop living in the past and play one of the countless new releases for the system. Like the excellent 2019 Wargroove, it plays a lot like Advanced Wars
@YoshiF2 190k was from the United States and almost the remainder was from Japan. During a time in which Mario Karts first portable game came out and sold over 2.5 million copies. Advanced Wars was not a huge selling, successful game.
@Masacheez You realize it's a rerelease of an ancient game that sold terrible it's first go around. You realize the Switch had thousands of games that I doubt you played all of them, and so move on catch on what you have missed and wait like a good little boy for them to release this whenever
@Stocksy The unlockable content doesn't do a whole lot in Mario Kart and the trophies definitely don't do anything. All you ultimately unlock is one character and reversed tracks. It's about as deep as a puddle yet you don't hear anyone belly aching about Mario Kart 8
@Stocksy That majority is still buying the game despite for weeks leading up to release saying they wouldn't. So if you want Nintendo to change show them by not buying the games you don't like. Sadly I think you'll find out the majority of their customers are not crazy diehards but rather just run of the mill average gamers who enjoy fun games.
@Toads-Friend You could always go more than surface deep with you choice of Switch games, there are tons of great games that Nintendo didn't make on the Switch
I think it's one of the worse, I can not stomach to play it anymore. The controls, camera and overall level design is a constant chore and I did not enjoy myself.
@Rayquaza2510 Also advanced wars, COD and Battlefield are all released by different publishers. It doesn't shock me that Nintendo has a higher moral ground than Activision and EA
@MisterNasty It's not that Olaf looks likes any particular country, it's just not a smart move to release a cheerful fun little game about an invading country attacking another country at this moment. Move on and play something else.
