Re: Michael Pachter Doubts 3DS XL's Powers of Revival

shingi_70

I'm conflicted. I want a XL for the bigger s reenter but behind that it doesn't seem to add much over my current 3DS. For good or Bad other products usually have a key feature for me to upgrade.

I'll keep my normal DS for now until some new colors comeoit or it falls on its last legs.

@brucelebnd

You do know that that wasn't the 720 but a 2nd model that was going to be released alongside it and be like a Romulus box only playing xbla andhqving media functions right?

The 720 is already known to be running bluray and be BC based on a few leaked doucments and other parts of Microsoft.

Re: Yves Guillemot: Nintendo's 'Created Something Good' with Wii U

I love she. Yves gets on stage.

And the Wii U isn't a big risk from a concept level. Its honestly just applying nintendo magic on a already known to be popular format. The risk is in the execution and bye having a tablet like gamepad indirectly putting yourself in competition with other tech companies and not just Sony and Microsoft.

@MadAussieBloke

But nintendo themselves have been pretty stagnet and playing it safe with the 3DS.

@hydeks

Thats a good point. The PS3 and 360 are more mature platforms. Even on WiiU you still have a good amount of Wii and Wiiware software but if your nintendo only you probably have played all of that.

Its still to early to tell but if I were to reccomend someone buying there first console this year it would be between the PS3 or 360.

@LztheBlehBird

I never said the most powerful console was the or Dod the best. I was talking from a pure standpoint of what better tech allows you to do. Seeing as big of a success the Wii was in hingsight Nintendo could have easily went with the same power as the 360/PS3 and clean house.

Anywho going into next gen I'm going with

Microsoft>Nintendo>Sony

Re: Satoru Iwata: 'We Have Not Changed Our Strategy'

@zeldazero

You do realize that Call of duty doesn't push graphics right and has been working on the same graphics engine since 4 right and has minimal graohics compared to to its rivials in favor of 60 Fps.

And saying all halo games are the same are saying like all Mario games are the same man.

And if you think we hit the graphical peak you should go watch a pixar movie and then look at current games.

Re: Satoru Iwata: 'We Have Not Changed Our Strategy'

@LztheBlehBird

How so. Buy putting their wii U on develomemt on an engine that will be on the way out soon. And saying that Unreal 4 is scalable enough to run on a wii U even though they wont port the tine to it and are still trying to get Sony and Microsoft to beef up the specs for there next gen tl run ot well.

And I was surprised at how poorly skyward sword did out the tat compared to twilight princess. Was it lack of hyper or because twilight princess was ara system launch.

Re: Satoru Iwata: 'We Have Not Changed Our Strategy'

shingi_70

I'd disagree. I'm 20 and I wa t the Wii U to have more power. Knowing that the streaming to the gamepad uses a lot of the system.s power and using two gamepads casues a loss of framerate then I would want more power.

Not only that but it seems nintendo fans only look at is a case for better graohics and not things such as using more complex engines (unreal 4), having bigger worlds to explorer, better effects,etc. And having a powerful system. Is about future proofing your console to get support over a larger peroxide of time. Why do you think the Wii had major droughts in its game collection compared to the 360/ PS3. And the wii is all but dead while the HD twins look to still have a good amount of support next year as well. '

But nope onky te. Years only want power and not anyone who is interested in development or wants a console to have a decent lifespan.

Re: Mass Effect 3 Extended Ending on Disc for Wii U

shingi_70

@Koos

The game is still playable but you miss a lot of the emotional impact from playing all three from the start. There are few things that had over the course of the triology and some tough choices I have to make.

Plus there are a lot of cool moments on three which are kind of hinged on the older games. Shepard and Varakhan.

The comics work but there are a lot of side missions in the game that are followed up from side missions in the first game. An enemy I let li e in the fist game Tried to kill me in the third over something I did in the 2nd.

Re: Unreal Engine 4 Ports Possible on Wii U

shingi_70

@VincentV

Its not being lazy but priortizing. The Wii U can run Unreal 4 because its scalable. As the engine gets closer to the E3 demo the Wii U wouldn't be able to run it.

Epic is still asking the other next gen systems for better specs so of course they're going to let Wii U stick with unreal 3.

Re: Iwata Expects Wii U to Last a Generation

shingi_70

Didn't know being confident about your platform made you a cocky douche.

And nothing that was shown at E3 looked good at all. Everything looked like it could have been run on Wii. That and Microsoft and Sony aren't afraid to take a loss to make powerful hardware ghat will last.

Re: E3 2012: Our View of Nintendo's E3

shingi_70

@Knux

When talking about what's the mainstream as well as retailers want Microsoft won. They have a mature ecosystem as well as major anmouncmemts.

They showed that they will have arguably the two biggest games this holiday season in halo and call of duty with exclusive content on one of them.

A lot of people use the Nike+ line so having a product that intergates then is a smart move. Have seen a few non gaming websites I go pick up on that.

Smartglass to the mainstream media was the higloht of the show and they had some nice support behind it. (All Microsoft games, ubisoft,EA, media partners)

They showed off a major content win in getting all of espn as well ss content partners like sesame street as well as nick ans stuff like sesame street kinect.

With that and showing ally of interconnected between there main platforms (xbox,Windows 8 ,Windows phone 8) as well as supprpting other platforms such as ios and aneroid Microsoft is poised to won he holiday season.

Or are you one pf those people who think E3 is still about gamed when its quickly becoming an event comparable to CES.
