@51 yeah it is a home console, although it's pretty tiny. I really hope that's accurate though, portable Gate/Lords of Thunder and New Adventure Island alone would pretty much justify the cost of a 3DS for me
The one thing that I miss as a Wii gamer is decent FPS games. I really can't abide the sloppy nunchuk + remote scheme, so finally getting a dual analogue game is brilliant news. I don't need this game to be great - as long as it doesn't majorly screw anything up I'm going to play it to death, simply because it will stand alone in its field.
@Marioman64 It's impossible to police filesharing efficiently at the moment. This is why music and film piracy thrives even though it has been illegal for decades.
I hate to be negative, coz I really wanted this to do well, but it looks a bit dull. The enemies are static and they seem to be able to fire at you for extended periods without actually doing any damage... I'm not getting any vibe of intensity from this trailer, and intensity is something arcade-style games really need to score on.
500 points is also a cause for concern. :/ A weird thing to complain about, I know, but surely this is on the upper end of the WiiWare scale in terms of budget? I just can't imagine that it's been developed as a 500 point game, which makes me worry that Nintendo simply don't think it's very good.
I'll wait for a review though, because I'm a fan of the genre and I'd like to see an original effort like this do well.
Looks really good, with the lack of an F-Zero I might get this. I don't actually know if I can endure another Mario Kart
Ridge Racer 7 on the 360 is the only one I've played and it was AWESOME (ugly but awesome). Really unrealistic physics, totally over-the-top arcade style racing. I hope this is in the same vein
I really can't wait, and I've been playing the Mega Drive version of this game for weeks now, but this trailer is nowhere near as good as the first one they put out because there's only the one announcement :[ where was HE'S ON FIRE
@Kelvin like 75% of that footage was recognisable to me as being straight out of the original game, so I wouldn't worry. I really wasn't psyched for this game coz I thought it'd just be a new game under the GoldenEye name, but now I know it's a full blown remake I CANNOT WAIT
I've only just watched the trailer, the nostalgia hit me like a truck
Mehhh I'm less interested than I was, I thought movement was going to be done with the analogue stick, I'm not keen on the idea of point and click movement. Also the interface looks tacky, and there didn't seem to be any gameplay elements that looked especially fun, although I guess it's hard to convey the fun of such a slow paced game in a short trailer
@accc: Fully agreed, GTA3 was the last one I ever played. I missed out on Chinatown Wars and I'll be all over this
This is pretty common knowledge, but for anyone who doesn't know, the full GTA1 and GTA2 games can be downloaded for free from Rockstar's website here: http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/?id=1
I really really hated the combat in Rival Swords but still loved the game, and the side-scrolling sections and the original game unlockable make this pretty much a must-buy for me. I'll be picking it up ahead of Galaxy 2 sometime this month
The only online component I really care about is leaderboards, which obviously work fine as things stand. A demo service, party chat and single friend codes or accounts would all be very much appreciated, but I don't really need them. Tbh though, if a paid service is implemented I know I'll be on board unless it absolutely sucks. I don't like missing out!
The thing I'm worried about is an achievements system... The amount of money and time I spent on PSN purely for trophies :< I can't help myself
The only thing I bought last week was the TvC stick from shopto.net, but I returned it after finding it for almost half the price elsewhere, then proceeded to go out drinking with the money instead and now I have nothing :[
@outrun2sp: I didn't know you were British, whereabouts are you from?
Even though I usually have a distaste for non-linear gameplay, it would be pretty cool exploring the deep sea, and six hours doesn't sound like too much of a time sink. I'm definitely interested.
Got to agree that it looks slow, too slow for traditional challenging platforming. Hopefully the puzzle elements will be great. I'm almost definitely going to get this anyway, any side-scroller with decent artwork pretty much has me sold.
Man that picture is awesome, I love that art style. Very much interested in a AAA side-scroller, though I guess from the comments so far I'll be waiting a while.
Magical Melody reeeaaally did a lot to put me off these games, but this one looks good. I've always preferred Rune Factory to Harvest Moon anyway, the visual style is a lot nicer. I doubt I'll get this anyway, too time consuming, but you never know

Re: High Voltage Employees Get Layoff Shock
lmao @ Bass X0 but seriously this is sad news. I wasn't a fan of The Conduit but I really like what HVS is trying to do for the Wii.

Re: E3 2010: Sonic Colours Looks Seriously Tasty
This looks like it has a chance of being good. But then so did Secret Rings
Re: Conduit 2 Powers Up with MotionPlus Support
I thought M+ didn't improve pointer controls? Doesn't it just add an axis of rotation or something, which isn't used at all for point-and-click
Re: EA CEO Has Seen 3DS, Confirms It Is Cool
How was the DSi a hint that another new handheld console would be arriving shortly? Surely if anything it was misleading

I would probably buy an Xbox for this.
Re: Flight Control Cleared for Landing on WiiWare
Never heard of it but it sounds cool!
Re: Cave Story Confirmed for Australia
I was actually disappointed to see that the image had an excuse (however thinly veiled) to be there, I like the idea of all AU news stories being lazily appended with pictures of kangaroos and barbeques. Nothing like a bit of blasé racial stereotyping.

Another awesome looking game, they're lining up about five times faster than I'm going to be able to buy them. Nice music in this trailer.
Re: First Impressions: Furry Legends
lol TwilightV
This game is awesome. How many side scrollers are coming out on WiiWare this year? Lots. That's how many. And I want them all.
