ios is good for some things anyone remember the ds games touch detective 1&2 both great games both on ios for about £5 each and they play just as well as the ds originals i tried finding them for the ds after an article on here about a third game getting made for the 3ds and the cheapest was on amazon for about £25 so to find them on app store for that price was great ios gaming is not all bad its the same as any other console some good games some bad ones and as for being to simple remember where nintendo started with the game & watch you can't get anymore simple than that and look how good they are now ios is just getting started we will just have to wait to see if it just a fad or its here to stay

@hydeks i agree i would be happy to see nintendo sticking to handhelds in the future i just want to play the games and i don't care if its handheld only

@Jaydenn yes i know i have no idea what really caused it happened over the last few years but the original 3ds for me was much to small and uncomfortable

i`m just sorry the 3ds xl was not out from the start because the cramping i got was bad especially on kid icarus uprising i blame that game for my two operations for carpal tunnel this year but on the bright side it means i have got a load of games to catch up on

@CrimsonMoonMist i agree the lack of games for next year if anything is looking even worse than this year if no third parties release some games any sale boost they get this year will soon disappear nintendo are good but not that good they cant keep the wii u going by themselves

the amount of bad press the wii u is getting with the bbc news site the latest one to take a pot shot at nintendo with the headline " flogging a dead horse " saying there is no point in trying to sell a dead console and recommending they release a new console. it is going to take one of the greastest comebacks of all time for nintendo to turn the wii u fortunes around because there is no public confidence in it at all and despite some great games coming out the release schedule is still barren for next year

wow those wii u sales were worse than i thought 160,000 sold worldwide in three months is poor

hopefully they will not run out of money unlike that other crowdfunded game in the news this week

i must be the only one who does not like this series of games i just have never managed to get into the games in single or multiplayer

@Yoshi3DS that is not going to happen i think rare made starfox adventure and there now owned by microsoft i cant think of the other game though

i think given the cost of making retail games any original games will likely be e shop games from the indies

i am not surprised pikmin as far as i can remember was never a console seller for the gamecube even though they were great games

even though i don,t import a lot of games 3 in the last couple of years its good to have that option because we all know one thing is that there will be at some point a game you want to play that will not come to region you are in

@nintex i had forgotten all about that game it would be great to play that again on the wiiu eshop

very well written i have been lucky to own all nintendo consoles and there is just as many crap games from all the consoles anyone remember superman 64 i still get nightmares about that one

this sort of stuff happening with the wii u missing out on games is something we just have to get used to until nintendo sell more consoles

the wii should have been hd right from the start if it had it would have been more future proof and they would not have had to rush the wii u out giving them more time to work out the various kinks in the operating system and finish all the games for launch like pikmin 3 and the other games due this year a wii u launch this holiday season instead of last year i think would have been more successful but hindsight is a wonderful thing and nintendo unfortunately just got it wrong

i have downloaded earthbound and shantae now i do not know what to play first

and for those that think 3rd party support is not important the snes is rightly regarded as the best console of all time not just for nintendo games but all the great 3rd party games as well

nothing that has happened so far with wii u has surprised me i did not expect a lot of third party support compared to sony and microsoft i only bought it for nintendo,s games i always intended to buy a ps4 for all my other gaming needs but it would have been great if nintendo proved me wrong with regards to 3rd party support and i only needed to buy one console instead of two saving me a lot of money

sorry have to disagree some of the best games i have played this gen have been 3rd party games on my ps3 you are wrong to say they are not important any console needs good first and 3rd party support to succeed nintendo cant keep the wii u going by themselves they need help from 3rd party publishers and as us wii u owners have found out it takes time for the good games to arrive and you got to remember sonys best first party developers have been busy on ps3 this year so you wont see anything from them for a year or so

this on the wiii u and puppeteer on the ps3 are the only platformers im buying this year donkey kong and mario 3d world so far seem to much the same as what has went before i hope to be proved wrong though

i think nintendo will be fine but there is no way i can see them turning round the wii u fortunes it might be worth picking one up in a few years time when they have had time to get dozen or so great games out but i cant see the third party games situation getting any better to justify buying one now

whatever the games are just no more 2d platformers please i am sick of the sight of them anything else would be welcome

i hope they look to the likes of dark souls and skyrim and the first legend of zelda for ideas for the next game. i have always wanted to see nintendo to make an open world game to see if they can do better than the other developers

for me mario platformers will always be about single player i,m not interested in 3d world for that reason

sadly after an hand opp it will be at least be another 4 weeks until i can start gaming again on the bright side i`ve got plenty of time to save for mario and luigie dream team and enjoy the sun and being off work for a month

Satoru Iwata is clearly out of touch with today's gamers with a lot his decisions recently its maybe time for younger person to take control of Nintendo to move the company forward because for me nintendo have got so much wrong for the last few years there needing someone with fresh ideas

I hope it's got a good single player as well as multiplayer I remember diddy kong racing on the n64 by rare all those years ago had a great single player mode something like that would be great

Sadly this is a game that slipped under my radar ill have to search for a copy to see what it's like

Hopefully nintendo can turn round the wii u fortunes so we can see good support from all the big third party company's I don't want to just play nintendo games I want a choice of different style of games that Nintendo can't provide

Saying they don't know how to bring anything new to it to make it better is a poor excuse its a racing game all it needs is new tracks to race in they should just come out and admit it would not sell as much as yet another mario game at the moment nintendo is under to much pressure to sell enough wii u's to temp the third party's back to the console that game like f zero and star fox will have to wait until there in a healthier position

I will admit I am so far not a great fan of wii u what I've owned since launch but if Nintendo went muti platform it would end up like sega where you would have no way of knowing if your console of choice would get all their games it's just better and cheaper if things stay as they are

@ACK yes I agree with you about the wii but I still think nintendo were at there best and there games most original when they had a standard controller I'm thinking snes and n64 I think the last two gen consoles nintendo got lazy with the games for the systems relying on the controllers instead of thinking up original ideas for the games

Nintendo should have known how hard and expensive it was to make hd games how many developers have gone bust the last 5 years making hd games that's why Sony this gen with the ps4 made a console that was easy to develop for instead of a complex and underpowered one like the wii u making it difficult and expensive for publishers to support. nintendo have forgotten it is not gamepads or wii remotes that sell consoles but quality games you can't buy elsewhere that are original it's always been the games that sold consoles not gimmick controllers

@URAmk2 yeah I'll give them until January to convince me to keep the wii u if not ill trade it for a ps4

I have got to agree with the guys at Nintendo life bitterly disappointing e3 direct showing and I really don't know if should keep my wii u or sell it not impressed with it so far

I just can't get exited for this there is just to many platformers either out or coming out for the wii u and 3ds I just can't stomach any more of them

Every month that passes i regret buying a wii u I've owned every Nintendo console from the nes to the wii u as well as all three playstations and this is the worst console I've bought by a long way

Being straight retreads never hurt all the super Mario bros games so I don't know why your being so harsh with wayforward I just hope you do the same with Nintendo when they get lazy and release yet another Mario bros game that plays the same as all the others

I've got to admit I'm really disappointed with this Nintendo direct a couple of good games but nothing that's going to sell wii u to the average gamer they are starting to really struggle now I just can't see how they are going to turn this around with these games

I'm happy enough with 3ds version but I suppose it would be good for people to have a choice

Really excited for this e3 and hope nintendo finally justify my decision to buy a wii u last year

This is just not about one game it is about getting the balance right with first party and third party games the one between Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft who offers the best first party games with the best of the third party ones will win this gen and at the moment that's not nintendo they have got to do better than they are at the present time

I love nintendo games but the ultimate console would be nintendo games and games like last of us and what the ps3 and Xbox 360 have giving us this gen if Nintendo can convince third party developers to support the wii u with all the major games it would be the console to own this gen

I think they are doing the right thing with Nintendo direct the previous ones got them as much publicity as any conference at e3 and they can deliver them any time they want not just once a year like e3

Played this when it first came out all those years ago and it's still my favourite handheld zelda and for me it's only beaten by the two n64 zelda's

@LDXD yes your right I forgot Nintendo have already brought an old franchise back in kid Icarus uprising and made it a hit so there no reason why it can't happen again

I would love a star tropics game but I don't think it is a game enough people remember

@Peach64 the battery lasts about 2.5 to 3 hours no way near long enough
