The more I saw of this game the more I lost interest, but it always sucks seeing an indie dev having a hard time. Sounds like getting it localized was a nightmare for everyone involved.

The exact, official wording is "a new Super Mario Bros. game." That, along with the supermario4.com registration, strongly indicates a new 2D game. I wonder if this and the 3DS version will be the same and interact in the same way as the next SSB?

I think if Nintendo was given the rights to make an original Angry Birds game on the DS, then they'd do some amazing things with it.

The problem I had with the original is that — while fun in spurts — it was just a glut of the same thing over and over again. And I definitely think it would have suffered on the DS since the screen resolution and size is quite a bit smaller, and you already have to squint to see anything on the iPhone.

I think the closest thing we'll get to an RPG mode is a hub for your Mii with tournaments, minigames to increase your skill level, and maybe your own customizable pad to house trophies and other stuff.

If there was anything on the level of Power Tour we'd have heard of it by now.
