This game has never been playable in a 50hz format before.
60hz arcade and neo geo board. 60 hz on Sega Saturn, and now the great D4 enterprise are going to release it at 50hz. Do you think that D4 will optimise it to compensate.................
QUOTE[The main bulk of the game will be found in Grand Prix mode; here you can challenge three cups (Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald) with another to unlock. Each cup contains five races and you are awarded points depending on which position you finish in;]
Just goes to show how hard this game is that people dont even know about the fact that this game has 26 tracks. Most people including the reviewer believe there to be 20.
Ruby Saphire and Emerald cups are available out of the box. 15 tracks
Diamond is unlockable after completing normal mode for the above 3 cups. 5 more
Then and this is the big one if you complete all four cups above on master diffuculty, then you unlock the AX Cup which are the tracks from the arcade machine (5 tracks). The graphics on these ones are far in advance of the console ones. Another track is available sonic oval which can be used in time attack. The arcade set up had you play all 6 in one go.
An alternative way to unlock them was if you had a memory card and went to the arcade machine you could unlock the AX tracks by coming first in them and taking the saved data back to your gamecube.
The AX cars which were from the arcade are all unlockable on the GC version but get this. You had to finish Story Mode on Very hard.
This is the best software that you can insert into your WII still. A game made by the sega man that made daytona usa. Sega have a big victory here although they are now friends with nintendo anyway. The developer who masterminded the F zero series has said on record that after this game he doesnt know where to take the series further. Basically sega took the whole franchise to its limit of perfection where its definately apparent that how do you take this further in this generation. Where do we go from here. No wonder a strong F Zero game hasnt come out for the last seven years.
The only game that has come close to this level of hardcore play in the last few years is outrun2. People who own nintendo machines dont really realise how hardcore this game is and what the value of it will be in years to come. They are too transfixed on casual games as Super Smash Bros, the latest mario or zelda.
Hopefully with this out I can pick up the old cartridge version of the zero series as I 100% prefer the GBA to any DS. The carts will hopefully start popping up on ebay.
Sucks cos I could have Metal Slug (the great game that is worth over a grand in cartridge form) but will not play a game thats 50hz when it was 60hz on its console and 60hz in the arcade.
Playing any neogeo games at 50hz is a disservice to the machine.
Im happy with all PC engine purchases and super mario bros 2.
The rest just doesnt exist cos 50hz is untouchable. Thanks to all the people out there buying 50hz games and hence supporting it they will never change it either. hmmppphhhh
For too long all we have seen on the shelves in the UK is chicken blaster, animal crossing and sing it songstar. Dirt titles like that that pretty much have alienated anyone who wants decent games.
When you look at the ps3, 360 and see street fighter 4 running, forza etc its no wonder. Also 50hz virtual console so why bother with the machine they think.
Excellent game and the super turbo of King of Fighters for its time. Has proper 2 in 1's and excellent combo opportunities. Very good soundtrack especially in this case the chip set one.
When this came out everyone was playing this, super turbo and mortal kombat 2 in the arcades. That was a good choice to have.
Only problem I have with the game is the damage protection is too low.
I got my megadrive chipped around the time that street fighter came out on it. 1993. Ever since never played anything at 50hz.
60hz saturn and only import games bought. No money for sega europe. japanese DC and no 50hz game on the machine. I even got the american Code Veronica.
FF3 is one step away from Real Bout Fatal Fury. Came out a year before. Starting to look like we are getting to bigger sized neo geo games. I hope this neo-geo goodness continues.
Pulseman, Gley Lancer and columns 3 are hanabi (which is a stupid term nintendo europe have come up with by the way). Anyway they all give a 60hz only warning and are locked in 50hz no matter what setting you have your console on. I run in 480i and they look absolutely dreadfull. Horribly upscaled and bordered. So you have a valid arguement.
Ironclad is the same. I tried metal slug and never got a neo geo game again on VC. Its so badly pixellated that it looks like the mobile version I have on my nokia n95.
Another nitpick. Dynastic hero which is one of the most sought after games on the TG16 after rondo of blood runs in 60hz but the sound is out of sync. Its like theyve used a cue sheet that is 2 seconds out and with each new track it gets worse and worse, near the end of the game tracks are beginning 14 seconds into the song. I have seen videos and this doesnt happen on the american version. I complained and they said something about when a game is submitted it is complete.
I am a bit of a hardcore gamer so may be hated by some for my smash bros comments but I vent opinions anyway. So many people are buying 50hz versions of games and not complaining that I dont think they will ever change it. Im suprised to see some of the people that are getting them here as they seem to know about their games but still buy them.
Paying with a credit card for that 50hz rubbish. Wont be me I tell you.
50hz is untouchable for me. Im 32, back in 1993 i had a sony tv that ran 60hz from the megadrive days onwards. Only in the 8 bit generation was I running 50hz so I kinda am ok with that.
People that supported 50hz in the first place are guilty of keeping it this way and its too late to change. The ones that said, well it was like that in the first place. Look at the charts, they are paying for sonic, golden axe at 50hz.
It does Betagam. People would have paid money based on the incorrect information.
Add all hanabi md games to that list too as they say 60hz.
I think all of the emulators on WII are hard coded to 50 hz except for the TG16 and NES. Cant think why theyve done it like this. A stupid oversight I predict.
50hz neo geo games is a disgrace. 50hz import neo geo games is even worse.
Nintendo have lost so many sales from me because of this. I would have most likely had 60 or so games accross snes / md and neo geo if it wasnt for this.

Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - September 2010
OMG super hang on. Im sure this will get released over here when theres a VC drought.
Excellent Game and hopefully moving us closer to Powerdrift, Outrun and Afterburner 2 arcade EMU's.
Has music as catchy as outrun and runs as a very smooth super scaler game.

Re: Brace for Impact as Fatal Fury 3 Smacks Up Europe this Week
This is a debut for Fatal Fury 3.
The first time ever that it will be running at 50hz.

Still a great review notheless..

Re: Metroid: Other M to Reach Europe in September
This is looking like a good game.
Re: Mario Tennis
Excellent game this for the N64.
Re: E3 2010: Mario Kart Speeding to 3DS
no blue shells please in this one.
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - June 2010
A japan only release came out of Fighter's History: Mizoguchi Kiki Ippatsu!!
This was very close to Dynamite and a good game in its own right. Better then the original.

Re: Nintendo Download: 31st May 2010 (North America)
Wild Guns is a very good game.
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - June 2010
Fighters History Dynamite is very good. I have it on Saturn with the ram cart.
Re: Lucky Australians, You Get Mega Man Zero Collection Before Europe
Hopefully with this out I can pick up the old cartridge version of the zero series as I 100% prefer the GBA to any DS. The carts will hopefully start popping up on ebay.
Re: Review: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii)
So predictable that youd give it a 10/10.
I dont think many games deserve that and Ive been playing games for 20 years.
Re: Review: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials & Tribulations (WiiWare)
The wii versions are fine. Imagine if snatcher or policenaughts came out on the wii without upgrades.
Would you complain no.
7/10 deserved.

Re: Review: UN Squadron (Super Nintendo)
A good port of the arcade and although one player is one of the best shmups on the machine.
Re: Monster Hunter Tri, Sin and Punishment Nowhere to Be Seen in UK Charts

Re: Game Sales in UK Hit Lowest for Four Years
Hope they shut game down or sort it out.
They didnt stock Tat vs Cap, Muramasa, snk arcade classics etc.
HMV is my option when it comes to going into a shop to buy games.
Re: Review: The King of Fighters '95 (Virtual Console / Neo Geo)
Should be 8/10.

Good times.
Re: The King of Fighters '95
Anyone who pays for 50hz neo geo games needs a self assessment.
Re: Talking Point: The Virtual Console's PAL Problem

60hz saturn and only import games bought. No money for sega europe.
japanese DC and no 50hz game on the machine. I even got the american Code Veronica.
Re: Talking Point: The Virtual Console's PAL Problem
People that have paid for these versions have allowed nintendo to get away with this. Shame on you all.
I have never, ever got a pal version on VC.
Now they are releasing neo-geo games in 50hz. Shocking.
50hz is untouchable and ruins the WII's credibility in europe.
I like the WII but im off to play Final Fight double impact and am looking forward to afterburner climax.
Re: Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Could Be On Its Way
They should have released blazblue on WII.
Essentially the dreamcast would have been able to run it.
Deep game though im loving it.
Re: Teyon Announces Heavy Fire for WiiWare
Stick with Ghost Squad and HOTD 2 for rail shooters.
Made by top Sega developers.
Re: Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Could Be On Its Way
Iron man Sega
Spiderman Activision
Hulk Universal interactive
Wolverine Activision
Still think its marvel vs capcom 3 lol. Will capcom approach these companies.
What they need to do is release Capcom VS Snk 3 or release 2 on wiiware which I cant imagine so release on PSN and Xbox live.
Sorry guys but being a wii owner its clear as to why people prefer the HD systems.
Blazblue, Street Fighter 4, Outrun, Afterburner Climax, Mass Effect, Forza, Yakuza, Heavy Rain, Final Fantasy.
Re: Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Could Be On Its Way
Due to the storage limits of the WII I hope to hell it doesnt come onto WIIWARE and goes to xbox live and psn.
Also hope that its capcom vs snk 3.
Re: Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Could Be On Its Way
Capcom dont have a license with marvel anymore though. Its expired.
Re: Super Mario Kart Races to Europe on Friday
Wonder how they got around the 50hz emulation problems.
By the way, thats the irony of why the game has been delayed. Optimising it for 50hz because of emu code.

Check out the beauty of Waku Waku 7.

WAKU WAKU 7.
Thats darkstalkers practically.
Re: Ogre Battle 64 Hits Europe This Friday
should be fine since sin and punishment is locked in 60hz.
Re: Interviews: Steve Lycett - Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing
no no no @ razielnin
they havent screwed with the graphics. I actually have it on both machines. 360 and wii.
The wii version is a fine representation and runs smoothly enough.
Re: Review: Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (Virtual Console / TurboGrafx-16)
well ive actually played vampires kiss and while its inferior its a good game.
Different layout of levels but a good game still.
Re: Review: Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (Virtual Console / TurboGrafx-16)
Best game on the machine TG16 and one of the best games ever made for me anyway. After years it is finally available in its original state.
Prices will drop for the original now perhaps.
If only they could emulate Sapphire but im not sure if the wii can handle arcade card emulation.
Re: Nintendo Download: 15th March 2010 (North America)
Thanks JayArr.
This was expected and im ok with it anyway as have finished the game like this before.
Re: Nintendo Download: 15th March 2010 (North America)
so the language is still in japanese I assume. Can anyone confirm.
Re: Review: Calling (Wii)
will still get this as im a sucker for these horror games. If its 29.99 that is.
Re: Nintendo Download: 12th March 2010 (Europe)

Re: Hanabi Festival 5 to Happen Soon?
Finally its coming out. The journeys nearly at the end for me with VC. Rondo of blood and then after that any decent arcade games that come out.
Re: Review: Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing (Wii)
This game is more fun than mario kart. Its fairer. No blue shell syndrome and it has skill involved in it.
Mario kart is still good although I havent played it in a year.
