Just reading this from your gradius rebirth review :
It's obvious that Konami and M2 haven’t tried to reinvent the wheel with Gradius Rebirth, as many of the game play ideas have long been a staple of the series over the years. Fans of the early Gradius titles are likely to find a lot to like with Rebirth as it looks, sounds, and plays pretty much the same as those early Gradius titles.
The game than got 6/10 by you.
Mega Man 10 is exactly the same situation and looks too similar to 9 as well yet you give it a 9/10.
Just dont understand. the shmup.com fans love it too, who are respected gamers.
I discovered this myself and put it on the forum and gamefaqs.
In japan on the konami website they listed the details of the update last year. Went into the european shop channel and the update option was available as well adding 30 or so more blocks to the file size.
The game was fine as is, just a free touch up and im not complaining. More of that please.
If boy and his blob sold well it may get a release. Ive had to move into the import market now (with a bit of help) as it almost costs the same as getting a PAL release anyway and has stopped my moaning about stuff not coming out. Ebay is the place for this.
Got Shikigami 3 for roughly £20.00 on ebay after converting currency.
Also have Radirgy Noah on order from Play Asia although im told there are minor problems with the Japanese txt font as my machine doesnt have that available (not in game though). Even Contains Arcade Shooter Illvelo on the disk as well.
Why do they have to put tacked on motion controls. They cant just leave it alone. This is why every sonic game fails on wii and the last good sonic game was sonic adventure.
1. Crash bug, thats easily avoidable. 2. You cannot complete the ghost list. 3. As a result of 2 you cannot get a special item without gameshark.
At this point tecmo were struggling for money so put faith in nintendo to handle the licensing / distribution issues with this game project. When bugs were identified Nintendo asked tecmo to fix the bugs and tecmo asked for money but nintendo wanted to rush the release. Nintendo wouldnt pay so left a message on the official jp page advising how to avoid bugs. No developer at nintendo is gonna touch tecmos game to rectify it hence its decided not to release it world wide. Tecmo should never deal with nintendo again as they were screwed in my opinion.
What an absolute Farce.
And also whats wrong with having a Wii that can play various regions. You bought it so you can do what you want with it. Ive got the american Silent Hill from ebay to play that was made in england but out in america for a month at least.
Getting this somehow this year. Play-asia though i expect sales are gonna go through the roof now. Wonder if this puts pressure on an official release.
Nintendo of europes crap, this is the worst period i can remember.
1. no silent hill till march now 2. no shikigami 3 3. no sign of ultimate shooter coll or arcade shooter LLvelo 4. no narutu 3 5. no castlevania rebirth 6. no rondo yet 7. no excitebike 8 kof orochi saga not given a proper release.
I think its a good idea porting this game to wii basically dont buy it if you dont like it fair enough. Fans these days are just terrible. New generation of gamers.
Totally disagree with this review. Pheonix Wright is a great series of games very similar in play style to Snatcher. Has a real Kojima feel to it. Pretty much almost the best series of games on DS.
While it is arguably a lazy port the game content and experience will be just as good as the DS. From the videos Ive seen on youtube it looks fine to me and as someone else has said a good opportunity to get people into the series.
I will definately be getting it and I dont think your opinion will stop others getting it.
I hope that they release all of the trilogy on WII.
Also hope that they release snatcher but I doubt it would come as the sega cd version wasnt released in Japan and Konami europe are not enterprising enough to take a risk and release it. PC Engine CD version seems more likely without localisation.
This is excellent. Strange thing is although its very different to its arcade brother it feels more like an arcade game then nearly everything else on megadrive.
I think its (arguably) better than the arcade and one of the best megadrive games, Amazing considering it came out in 1990. I wish that games like this where still being made.
Not a beater of shinobi 3 (which i cant believe some people give a bad rap). I think it was just not as fondly remembered.
My order of team ninja esque games on megadrive Shinobi 3 Shadow Dancer Revenge of Shinobi E Swat
Capcom japan is where it counts, I only care about what they say.
Also agree with Maka. Proper gamers do not play on rails shooters as theres hardly any thought involved. Good for a quick fix thats all.
If squaresoft, cave, konami or snk playmore released an on rails shooter based on a more adult theme it would still be the same case that not many would buy it.
nintendo eu are shocking at the moment. its no wonder that people go down different avenues to play games. even paying customers. when they insisted on releasing 50hz only games that wont run properly on high end home set ups that was the ultimate attack on the fan base. vc probably is being phased out and they are slowing it all down.
This is a fine conversion of the game. Just downloaded it and its as good as ever. Its more interesting than the genesis and snes versions, so im suprised more people arent into it.
First things first. Having played this game im positive that this is already better then Castlevania the rebirth. Wait till you hear the soundtrack.
Secondly, they are not gonna interfere with code thats years out of date to translate it. Do people complain that have paid serious money to have this on import already. If you cant deal with the language, dont buy it and let hard core gamers play it. Stick to casual games like super smash brothers 64.
Great game. The snes one is a very good port in times when it was harder to get them arcade perfect.
Well worthy of the 8/10 heck maybe even 9. No complaints about it at all, the differences between arcade and snes are acceptable considering. Also in my top 10 of best snes shooters. After contra / Metal slug I think this one goes in next.
3. Bass X0 18 Nov 2009, 10:40 GMT @ outrun - It won't. Unless there's a surprise Hanabi Festival happening that nobody has heard of yet or if they do away with import games only appearing during Hanabi Festivals. We'll most likely get Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures instead..............

Re: Konami Updates Gradius Rebirth
Whats wrong with them updating gradius rebirth. they havent charged anything.
If your talking about last ninja 3 though totally agree although I wouldnt get something like that anyway.
Confused sorry.

Re: Konami Updates Gradius Rebirth
This has been around for six months in europe.
Can you confirm the block size of the game now. 206 was the size after i updated.

Re: Review: Data East Arcade Classics (Wii)
These games are not designed to run in widescreen and if you stretch the picture you get horrible upscaling like SNK arcade classics.
Good collection though and secret agent is the best game on it.
Re: Nintendo Download 1st March 2010 (North America)
hoping this is the last 8 bit based version and they tackle 16 bit hardware.
Re: Nintendo Download: 26th February 2010 (Europe)
rebirth is great, finally made it to eu.
Re: Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1

Re: XBLA Perfect Dark Getting GoldenEye Maps and Weapons
ill be getting that. You cant survive on just a wii.
Re: Pick Up, There's A Developer Diary Calling
bad reviews ive seen for this and bad feedback on gamefaqs but im still getting it.
I liked Ju On
Re: Review: The Godfather: Blackhand Edition (Wii)
Underrated game again for the WII
Re: Review: Ghost Squad (Wii)
Great game. Back to the Virtua Cop days.
Re: Developer Allegedly Has DS2 Kit
what a pointless article. Why not review Scarface on WII or something.
Re: Review: Yume Koujou Doki Doki Panic (NES)
Great review to post. Im really impressed.
Re: Guides: How to Get Your Wii Online
My graphics card was fried as I left my WII on standby mode so it could charge my Wiimotes. Learnt my lesson.
I cant see any benefit in wiiconnect 24 being turned on at all. Exactly what games have been updated.
Re: First Impressions: Calling
looks good. Another one to add to my horror collection. If its better than ju on its already gonna be good.
Definately gonna be getting this one.
Re: Fatal Frame IV Fan Translation Finally Released
Trouble with this game is that it has 3 bugs
1. Crash bug, thats easily avoidable.
2. You cannot complete the ghost list.
3. As a result of 2 you cannot get a special item without gameshark.

Re: Interview: Climax - Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
Why is it delayed so long in europe and out in america already.
Theres nothing on the WII shelves at the moment worth getting at all.
This game is looking to be one of the best wii games at the moment.
Re: Fatal Frame IV Fan Translation Finally Released
I would say play parts 1 or 2 or 3 on xbox / ps2. Its cheaper. Than decide.
Re: Fatal Frame IV Fan Translation Finally Released
Getting this somehow this year. Play-asia though i expect sales are gonna go through the roof now. Wonder if this puts pressure on an official release.
Props to the translation team.

Re: Review: Street Fighter Alpha 3 (Game Boy Advance)
Amazing conversion considering the hardware. Had to be ported on saturn with a 4mb cart and here its essence is still captured.
Re: Castlevania The Adventure ReBirth
Very high difficulty. Continues do help.
Not as difficult as Mega Man 9, esp the last stage. MM9 is more about memory anyway.

Re: Konami Readying Castlevania Collection For Wii?
with no source revealed, hard to believe.
if its true good. They will release proper full speed versions on a disc.
Re: Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi
Excellent game. Better than the arcade and Revenge of Shinobi.
Best music in a megadrive game ever....

Re: Review: Final Fight 3 (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
Also only 3 enemy sprites on screen at a time. The arcade version of ff1 had about 9 at best and streets of rage 2 had 8 or 9 as well.
This has one more sprite than the nes double dragon which handled 2 at a time.
Re: Review: Final Fight 3 (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
likely for friday if anything.
Re: Capcom Growing Less Keen on Wii?
who wants to just sit down and point a remote control at a TV.
HOTD 2 and 3 is where it ends.
Capcom is usually about depth.

Re: Ubisoft Announces Racquet Sports for Wii
Great news. More ubisoft nonsence. Let the screen tearing begin.
Re: Review: Tomena Sanner (WiiWare)
I like the game too. Turbo mode is nuts. Has kind of saved the nintendo download today.
People of course wanted castlevania so it was a shock when it didnt turn up.
Re: Nintendo Download: Tomena Sanner, Happy Hammerin', Dragon's Lair, Miami Nights and Texas Hold'em (EU)
Yeah Fuzzy. I agree
I reckon that since the nintendo europe christmas party, no ones been in the office at the VC section.
All said and done im getting Tomena Sanner this friday.

Bit later but good. Get rid of the hanabi festivals and just classify them as imports and release sooner.
Re: Review: Chōtetsu Brikin'ger (Virtual Console / Neo Geo)
Hanabi?
Re: Review: Chōtetsu Brikin'ger (Virtual Console / Neo Geo)
Great. Hopefully will come to europe. Nintendo will be forced to release this at 60hz to their dissapointment perhaps(??).
Or the CD audio will be out of sync.
