Load times are worse for where they are. They are more intrusive now even though they are shorter they affect the gameplay seriously as you cannot buffer in the move at the start of a round. Game would be banned at tournament level because of this.
Gameplay is completely different. Combos do not work properly, frame data is screwed up!!!.
It was ambitious but they should have ported part 1. Id give this 6/10
Respect Sean. This is a good site so im glad to see games like this getting reviews because people in the industry do read it. Hopefully, it will be picked up by somebody.
Im with Jamie in that I would get this to give a sale although I already have better games than this.
Now I hope to see this and castle of shikigami 3 popping up on the european ratings board (optimism.....).
Europe is having a real shocker with shooters though
On Wii - No Castle of Shikigami 3 No Ultimate shooter collection
I hope to get that in some guise in the future. good to see this site giving games like this props so as to hopefully get the attention of publishers. (I noticed someone from Rising Star Games on here the other day.).
People in Europe who play rabbid games / wii fit / fifa / COD (and think thats where it ends) etc may not have heard of Cave / Raizing / 8ing / Taoplan etc. Look at the games on the web and the youtube hard play videos and you will see that these games are worshipped and played at a high level. The Wii has some of this library available in the US / Japan already and we have no access to it.
I have much love for shooters at the moment. Last night played one of the most beautifull games that Ive ever seen Mushihimesare Futari 1.5.
More games like this have to come out in europe or at least not be region coded.
RIsing Star Games youve got a sale here if you pick this up.
Dude, loving your release. Ive got two copies by way of an accident but will be hanging onto both now. Any chance you will release any further far east originated games.
Some of the wii shoot em ups release in other territories that have not made it over here yet.
Ha my times are lame compared to some of the others. I.e. F40. That guy is the best in the world. Im using a 6 button blanka pad for fighting games. Have a dreamcast, yeah.
Alfred Eng. I have a 360 with outrun online. Also have an xbox with outrun 2 and outrun 2006. Also a pc with outrun 2006. In case you havent guesses its my favourite game ever . Been playing it for years, mainly with the F40 in manual. I will give you a game anytime mate im bud the chud78 gt.
I do like the wii for first generation titles and tg16 games and about 3 wiiware games. Am playing mario bros, fifa 09 and muramasa. Still no Rondo of blood on WII = Rubbish.
At the mo 360 is not releasing good games online as well though. I do have Garou, Kof98UM, SF2HDRM, Ourtun online, Virtual on etc, castlevania sotn. Hopefully they will fix it up when they get over themselves with COD MW2 and start releasing more games. Good thing about 360 is nothing is 50hz for me. 60hz Gunstar Heroes.
Im starting to realise that wii does not really give me what i want in DL content. And that nintendo will not change their ways as the people that run the company do not understand games. I also do not understand the strategy that they are employing.
KING OF FIGHTERS 95. Excellent game. The first really good KOF game that is still liked today. Almost the super turbo of king of fighters for the time. I would so get that if it came out 60hz but nintendo wont get a sale becuase they will release it 50hz as its never been played before. On saturn it was at least sped up.
If they release it that way I will stick with playing it on finalburn alpha on xbox.
Corbie what the hell is your review about. Why are you trying to deny sales. You dont have to tell people not to buy it let them find out for themselves. Your opinion is yours.
I played this game back in 87 when everyone liked it in a brilliant arcade hall that had double dragon 2 and ghouls n ghosts at the same time. People would crowd around the machine. I am a hardcore gamer true.
Only the second time this has been released in the uk.
As far as conversions go, this is an excellent conversion compared to the arcade. Only differences are in the colour palette. At the time you would never get conversions as good as this. Also if people are having trouble pulling off the moves it goes like this. Fireball = (press punch) QCF (release punch). If you master this type of input you will pull off all of the moves no problem. This is different to the sequels in that you push the button first and hold until motion finished. I can pull off moves perfectly with a classic controller.
Now roll on double dragon 2, saphire and rondo of blood on turbo cd.
Good that they released Zombies. Shame that its 50hz which i consider untouchable as my monitor is too advanced for that. I will stick to symphony of the night on 360.
Roll on castlevania rebirth, fighting street and a hanabi festival that gives access to rondo of blood.
This game looks awesome. Im not going to look at any more youtube clips so that it can be refreshing to play it. Length seems fine as well.
Wonder if we will get it on friday?
Saying that I would take rondo of blood this friday but the chances of that happening are low at the moment. I guess we will get zombies ate my neighbours at 50hz.
jeez I hope that hudson soft / capcom doesnt listen to you lot and we get fighting street. Its a classic / historical game and if it doesnt come out on wii it wont come out on anything. Let them just release it and get it out of the way guys.
This game deserves more credit. Its an excellent conversion of the arcade with improved cd music. Works well enough with the two buttons as the longer you hold them the stronger the hit. No combos in this game so doesnt detract from gameplay. Great opportunity for hard core retro gamers but just for completists sake.
With this out the way only 4 cd games left to release (on my hitlist) which I hope they do. Double Dragon 2 Dracula X Saphire Strider
Would be nice to get the turbographics version of fatal fury special as well 60hz.
This is one of the first CD games ever made by the way.

Re: Top 10 Shmups We Want To Come To The Virtual Console
Good list Corbie. I stumbled upon this.
Sapphire is a fantastic game and I still hold hope that it will come out. M2 just need to emulate the arcade card.
Re: Nintendo Download: Alex Kidd, Rubik, Pallurikio, Monkey Island, Hell's Kitchen and PictureBook Games (EU)
Alex Kidd in shinobi world is ok. I would get it but..... (dont wanna repeat myself)
Re: Review: Street Fighter Alpha 2 (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
To me its ambitious but a failure in the end.

Anyway, just my humble opinion.
Re: Review: Ju-On: The Grudge (Wii)
im gonna get this for a laugh

Europe is having a real shocker with shooters though
On Wii - No Castle of Shikigami 3
No Ultimate shooter collection
On 360 - No Raiden Fighter Aces
No Raiden 5
All the above available in usa.
Shocking
Re: Street Fighter Alpha 2
One of the worst conversions of a street fighter game. 10/10 for ambition though
Was originally meant to have a more advanced chip in the game than it ended up having. Might have been a better conversion.

Re: Nintendo Download: Earthworm Jim 2, Mahjong, Happy Holidays, Foto Face, Karaoke, Magic and Another Notebook (EU)
Im not a fan of games by Dave Perry but the megadrive version would surely be better as that is the hardware it was written on.
Re: Review: Castle of Shikigami III (Wii)
Hmm im mulling over it. Looks a hassle though.
By the time Tatsunoko VS Capcom comes out I might abort the idea.
By the way it has 5 stages broken into parts totalling 18 so we are both right lol. Didnt want to damage your credibility,
Re: Review: Castle of Shikigami III (Wii)
Sean Ikaruga has 5 stages.
Do you think its worth me getting a US Wii. Im tempted too.
Re: Review: Castle of Shikigami III (Wii)
Excellent review mate.

Re: Nintendo Download: 1-2 December 2009 (Japan)
Kof collection was poor on wii anyway. The sound was badly out of sync.
Can anyone confirm are ignition finished in the UK. I believe this to be the case.

lucky for the 60hz community,
Re: Nintendo Download: 24-25 November 2009 (Japan)
5 games on wiiware, 7 games on virtual console. I definately should have got a japanese wii.
european service is crap.
Re: Nintendo Download: Pokémon, Shootanto, All Time Classics, Army Defender, myNotebook and UNO (EU)
Not an interesting update for me at all. Im gonna wait it out till castlevania rebirth and sf2ce come out.
NSMB for me today anyway. Also lots more play of Virtua Fighter 5 which im getting back into after playing Tekken 6.
Re: Review: Street Fighter II': Champion Edition (Virtual Console / TurboGrafx-16)
Hoping this comes out on friday in eu. A nice different version of SF2.
Re: Nintendo Download: Pokémon, Whips, Fighters, Bowling Balls, Robots, Intersections and Demos (US)
Ah, bass is right. That street fighter will have to come via hanabi to europe.
Re: Review: Ninja Gaiden (Virtual Console / Virtual Console Arcade)
good review and what id give it.
Re: Nintendo Download: Ninja Gaiden, My Zoo, Rock N' Roll Climber and Nintendo Touch Golf (EU)
Ninja Gaiden has such a small window. Picture cannot be stretched.
Still decent game.
Re: Electronic Arts Less Than Happy With Wii Sales
I really liked fifa09 on wii. Best soccer game ive played in years. I wouldnt really touch any of the other games they have produced.
Re: Monster Lair
love this game.
Re: Review: Fighting Street (Virtual Console / TurboGrafx-16)

Re: Feast Your Eyes On This Castlevania: ReBirth Footage
Looks good. I can see that its being demonstrated that you cant jump into stairs.
Looks more like the megadrive version. Also first stage music is from that game. Any indication how many stages are in it.?
Re: Nintendo Download: Winds, Warriors, Dinosaurs and Domo-kun (US)
jeez I hope that hudson soft / capcom doesnt listen to you lot and we get fighting street. Its a classic / historical game and if it doesnt come out on wii it wont come out on anything. Let them just release it and get it out of the way guys.
Re: Nintendo Download: Star Wars, Little Tournament, Heron, Monochrome Puzzle and Viking Invasion (EU)
No fighting street. Damn. I want that.
Re: First Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth Screens Appear
looking good.
Im glad they went with 16it style graphics.
M2 can convert as many konami classics as they like.
Re: Final Fight
game was only 8meg and a launch game. If it came out a year later could have added a two player mode and the missing stage.
When it came out it looked amazing, but now dated. Glad ive got the gameboy advance version.
Re: Fight in the Street on Virtual Console Later This Month
This game deserves more credit. Its an excellent conversion of the arcade with improved cd music. Works well enough with the two buttons as the longer you hold them the stronger the hit. No combos in this game so doesnt detract from gameplay. Great opportunity for hard core retro gamers but just for completists sake.

Double Dragon 2

Saphire
