Rats are brilliant, big fan. Certainly the best small pet by a country mile and I wouldn't expect a war between them and frogs to be much of a contest.
@AnalogWave that's interesting, thanks. Thinking back, it's probably horizontal dislocation that I've found the most disorienting too. I do find all of it a bit much for me really, but interesting to note that forward motion might be less of an issue.
@Rhaoulos IQ is based around 100 being the average. I'm not clever enough to work out whether the average dropping by 80 points means people are defined as cleverer or less clever.
@StefanN I wouldn't be surprised if that price is quite close what it costs to make. There will be a fair bit of custom, low volume electronics in there - things like the programming for that 'mode' toggle - and even components like robust tripod threads aren't that cheap to integrate. I doubt it's something that Hori are making a huge amount of profit per unit on.
Hopefully various government and charity bodies will get on board to make the things more accessible to the intended end users.
@leo13 fantastic. I figured that even if it used the sticks at all it wouldn't be for anything especially precise. If I pick up a copy then it can have my drifty con.
@FX102A you get a map in each area when you find Cornifer. You need to equip a charm to show your exact location which I always had to do as I'm terrible at navigating.
@Dm9982 that God Mode sounds perfect. I'd not turn it on by default as I'm always inclined to see how I get on but that sort of defined auto-handicap I like. I'd hope that it lets you know how much of it you've used as itd give an ongoing measure of how you're doing.
Just remembered a recent episode of No Such Thing as a Fish where they talked about how baddies in films and tv shows never (visibly) use Apple phones for trademark reasons.
@NEStalgia you CAN trademark a common noun to prevent use but it's supposed to be within certain contexts - ie; just for drinks, or selling music or whatever. The old test used to be whether "an idiot in a hurry" might mistake one product for another based on their similarity. No idea what the rules are now, they seem a bit mad.
@Anguspuss trademarks are meant to operate in specific contexts - so you could have a trademark for Monster as a drinks brand, which would prevent other people selling drinks under that name but not, say, hand tools. Lots of the time you get trademark creep though which in this case is because they have some association with gaming tournaments or something.
Funnily enough the only joycon I've had this issue with was the blue one that came with my Switch and that one barely got used once I bought a pro controller and a pink/green set. Definitely didn't get used enough to wear out or get mistreated.
Mind boggling why anyone is criticising the poster for doing this. Far as I can tell the poster simply filed a claim to recover the value of a defective product. That's.. I mean, that's fair enough isn't it? They're not claiming for millions in punitive fines or anything, them being not a thing in the uk anyway. Though strictly speaking the small claims court isn't a thing either. Nintendo presumably then just settled the claim as it was never going to be worth the nuisance of disputing it.
Edit: damages, punitive damages, not fines. You know what I mean.
@status-204 fair enough, but it's a well-recognised fact that people deal with needing a wheelchair much better than they would have imagined before the fact. Most people imagine that they would never cope with it but when it happens they (on the whole) adapt remarkably well. That's what I mean about it being an unrealistic portrayal. Without additional narrative context an unrealistic portrayal can come across as simplistic and potentially offensive when the portrayal comes from people with no experience of it.
Not read all the replies but I think if videogames are going to be treated as art then they have to be open to criticisms of unrealistic portrayals. That's all that's happened here, it's not 'political correctness gone mad'.
@status-204 from the sounds of it this particular witch hunt was:
"I'm not that happy that me using a wheelchair is still seen in these terms by most people."
"We hadn't really considered that, it's not an area we know much about but probably should have examined a bit more closely. We'll see about making changes to more accurately reflect the experiences of wheelchair users."
"That's great, thanks."
I mean, it's hardly torches and flaming pitchforks is it?
@Lordplops aye, having a tribute to a recently-deceased, well-loved actor who was part of the Marvel Universe that the current crossover is of seems fair enough to me. Would seem odder not to, really.
For me the physical versions are just for making it easy to share games with the kids rather than buying multiple digital copies. Not that bothered what's actually on the cart as long as it makes it playable without buggering about swapping primary consoles and all that gubbins.
@Angelic_Lapras_King are the amiibos used for something in this game? I've just had a load of blank NFC cards arrive and have been looking for things to use them for.
They don't half make it difficult. Trying to impulse buy on my phone in bed and it makes me re-enter all my name and address details, that they already have, redeem a special code, go to a checkout thing, enter the special code they just gave me, tell me it honestly does cost more than six quid to post it and then ask me to enter my debit card details that they also already have.
Upshot is that I've spent 400 platinum points on a special code that I either forget about tomorrow or I spend £6.25 to make tangible.

Re: Finally, Nintendo Officially Unveils The Switch OLED Model, The 'Switch Pro' We've Been Expecting
My main Switch just got handed down to my son as a stick on his Lite is knackered so I've got a good excuse to pick up one of these.
Wonder if the white is the same plastic as the Animal Crossing one, my one of those went a weird pinky red colour.
Re: This Ultra-Rare Copy Of The Original NES Zelda Is Already Going For Crazy Money
Just download the rom.
Re: It Seems Game Builder Garage Will Only Be Available On The eShop In Europe
@sanderev only on the account that purchased the game though.
Re: It Seems Game Builder Garage Will Only Be Available On The eShop In Europe
@sanderev pain in the arse though, kids have their own switches. Can do it via swapping primary console but pain in the arse.
Re: It Seems Game Builder Garage Will Only Be Available On The eShop In Europe
Particularly with it being something that multiple kids in the family might want to play, mad to not have a shareable cart.
Re: It Seems Game Builder Garage Will Only Be Available On The eShop In Europe
Twenty quid is pretty much my cap for digital so sod this then.
Re: The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles Will Use An English-Style Court System
@a1904 and there had better not be gavels.

Re: Review: Sam & Max Save The World - An Excellent Point-And-Click Series Remastered For 2020
I think it's important to recognise when jokes age and are no longer appropriate, failure to do this leads to things like Graham Linehan.

Is this a useful game to permanently house your drifting joycons or would the drift bugger things up in this too?
Re: Review: Let's Sing Queen - Makes The Rockin' World Go 'Round
@Tasuki what do you mean by the album not having Queen on the cover? My copy does.
Re: Review: Let's Sing Queen - Makes The Rockin' World Go 'Round
Aww, just checked the track list and it doesn't have threat of nuclear war classic Hammer to Fall. That song is an absolute anvil.
Re: Nintendo Reportedly Arguing Switch Joy-Con Drift "Isn't A Real Problem"

@Burntbreadman I preferred the second one too - I found the controls a little floaty in the first one but it seems tighter in the sequel.
Re: Review: Hades - A Heavenly Trip Into Hell That's Utterly Essential For All Switch Owners
@Dm9982 I've cashed in a few carts worth of gold points and bought it for fifteen quid, sounds like it's worth it.

@TimboSlice so YOU'RE why they had to put that horrible tasting stuff on Switch carts.
Re: Legal Documents Suggest Monster Energy Is To Blame For Ubisoft's Gods & Monsters Name Change
@Entrr_username I've never drunk a Monster drink but always just assumed they'd be revolting given the Red Bull template for these things.
Edit: and the cans are TOO BIG.
Re: Legal Documents Suggest Monster Energy Is To Blame For Ubisoft's Gods & Monsters Name Change
@Kimyonaakuma not copyright, trademark. Different thing, hence Innocent juices and numerous other examples.
