The free pocket monster giveaways just keep on coming in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Until tomorrow, you can grab a competitive Gastrodon via Mystery Gift.
All you'll need to do is input the following code - PJCS2019CHAMP - in your game. It was made available during today's Japan Championships 2020 stream. Here's a step-by-step guide:
- Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
- Select Mystery Gift on the X menu.
- Select Get a Mystery Gift.
- Select Get with Code/Password to connect to the internet.
- Enter the code: PJCS2019CHAMP
- Watch as the gift arrives in your game. (Pokémon will appear in your party or your Pokémon Boxes.)
- Be sure to save your game.
According to Serebii.net this Gastrodon matches the same one used by the winner of the 2019 Pokémon Japan Championships and is redeemable until 14:59 UTC, 23rd August. It's Level 50 and comes with the following moveset: Protect, Surf, Ice Beam and Earth Power. Here are the competitive extras included:
"It has competitively focused IVs with max in HP, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense with a 0 IV in Speed. and comes fully EV Trained."
This weekend you can also claim a free 'battle-ready' Porygon 2. Here's the code: PKMNPLAYERSCUP.

I haven’t even played the dlcs yet lol. Guess that was 30 dollars down the drain. To be fair I did get new games over the summer and they have been occupying most of my time, and school just went back in.

@WickedUnicarnBoi only the first DLC came out so far and it’s like 30 minutes to get through the story - it’s mostly additions to make competitive team building easier and give more options. The second DLC wave looks like it’ll be more story content so it might be better for you to wait for that anyways (the price includes both waves).
@Heavyarms55 don’t most of the online modes ban using the same item on more than one mon though?
@ShadJV lol I didn’t even know that only the first one came out yet. You can tell I am keeping up with it. The second one comes out in November, right? I might play it then.

@ShadJV They do. But when you have 4 and a half boxes of competitive Pokemon, having some spares saves time. Eviolite for example is mostly used by Dusclops and Porygon 2, now I can just have both ready for whenever I want them.
@NintendoPok I never said it was bad, it’s just that I have not had a chance to play it yet.
@graysoncharles Even when l already own 3 of them? I don't know really, l don't use the Pokèmon that much. I will just not get it because l already own better Pokèmon than this one that l use more. But l will get it for my sister.
@misery6 Not much people in the world would use that Pokèmon. So yeah not very worth it, but if it was a shiny than yeah.
