@zranoll normal mode is the original difficulty. Hard mode is much harder. On the games with a health bar, you recieve more damage. On Runner, you HAVE to get each gold in order to pass the level
At first this game looked horrible. Earlier builds showed it moving really slowly and having a lack of fluidity, which is a necessity for an action game like this. NOW it looks great.
I'll probably get it because I love shooters. It's absurd that this wasn't in the 3DS in the first place though. At first they say "the touch screen and gyroscope work fine for camera movement" (which don't, by the way.) I find it necessary for porting games between Vita and 3DS.
I only got Beat and Runner, so SAGA will probably be what I'll go for. I can barely beat the games anyway, so I would probably not spend any time on the challenges or leaderboards. Why no difficulty levels on SAGA though? I can't see why not.
I would have prefered Kid Icarus and Punch Out over some of these other games. Yoshi, Wrecking Crew, Ice Climber and Donkey Kong Jr. aren't that good... Plus, I'd prefer Zero Mission over the original Metroid, since Zero Mission actually had the original Metroid on it.
You know a game's good when the lowest review score for it is a 9. I bought Tales of Vesperia to help me forget how much NOA sucks for not releasing this.
Urban Champion was, is, and will always be a horrible game. Why they are choosing this over something like Mega Man, Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Kid Icarus, or any other semi-decent to awesome game on the NES is beyond me.
The only ones I see as necessities are Bit Trip and Devil Survivor, but only if you haven't played them before. Starfox 3D is too expensive, cave story is $10 dollars on DSiware, which is available to every single 3DS owner (as well as free on the computer), and Pokemon Rumble got repetitive after awhile. Still, all of them look fun.
Punch Out! Kid Icarus StarTropics River City Ransom If possible, I'd love Contra on there too. I would ask for Metroid and Kirby's Adventrue, but both of those are also on the GBA with updated graphics. Zero Mission even had the original Metroid on it with old-school graphics and everything else.
You guys realize that no online also means that there are NO LEADERBOARDS, right? That's a dealbreaker for me. When the only advantages of a remake are portability and better graphics, a game would have to be one of the greatest ever made to justify a price tag of $40. Ocarina gets away with it since it is, well, one of the greatest games ever made. Starfox 64 isn't though, and I already have it on VC.
@Stuffgamer1 The game is a collaboration project between Mistwalker and Nintendo. The probability of it coming to other systems is the same of that with Halo coming to anything not owned by Microsoft. Also, most people are happier that it isn't turn-based. The design is pretty dated by today's standards, so lots of people would be turned off by it.
WHAT?! NOT A PERFECT 10?! I DECLARE BIAS! In all honesty, I fully believe it's the best game on the DS. I understand why it got a 9, though. Really complicated, and the story ends a bit too soon. I wish the review would have pointed out some coherent flaws that I just mentioned, but it didn't. Based on the review, I don't understand why the reviewer didn't give it a 10. I certainly would. My second favorite game ever, behind only Mario Galaxy (and I've played every major Nintendo game.)
@Natie31 Nintendo doesn't have a patent on the 3D technology, and they never will. Some phones in Japan already have the 3D effect, so it's not like Nintendo were the first ones to do it either.
So Microsoft AND Sony like it alot? I understand that it could help Sony a little, but the 3DS being the first mainstream handheld to support this is going to destroy what Sony has for the PSP2. Microsoft, on the other hand, doesn't seem to want to be a part of the handheld market, after what happened with the Zune, so it won't hurt them at all.
Already have it on ipod touch, love it and still play it to this day. Since both systems do have music playing capabilities, I can see it working for either system.
@kevohki: Chances are, you'll play it about 10 times, so change that 4 to 30. The harder difficulties in the first will make any player struggle, and that's no different here. I see where you're coming from though. The real problem, if you ask me, is the voice acting.
@Faron It's more about having the technology behind the gamecube. The N64 couldn't handle the amount of things going on that a Gamecube can (AI amount, particle effects, actual amount of detail in game, etc.) All of this can enhance a game experience, especially because it would help the 3D effects pop (look at Jaws 3's 3D effects and Avatar's 3D effects to see what I mean.) I can see it being applied to the new system, seeing the Gamecube controller works for some games, like Brawl, even though that would only mean the new system, if it had backwards compatibility, would need the controller ports. Also, it works well for a lot of VC games, and I can see Nintendo easily continuing that trend.
I've never looked forward to his games. Never liked the art style, or the actual developer himself. Cursing in interviews, egotistical, totally unaware that the general population would have some issues with him; the list goes on. Unless his never-to-be-released games get perfect scores everywhere, I'll continue to refuse to support this man.
Nice Black Eyed Peas reference. As for the article itself, I'm looking forward to see the new weapons. Few shooters actually try to be creative with their weaponry arsenal, which is really weird, since that helps it separate from the onslaught of war games in the genre (Halo, Perfect Dark, the first Conduit.) I'm also liking their love for Red Steel 2.

I'm really hating NOA right now. This and Xenoblade look awesome.
Re: Tales of the Abyss Slips to 25th November in Europe
No America? Come on, Namco, I really want this game. I've been getting myself hyped with Tales of Vesperia.
Re: Review: Deca Sports Extreme (3DS)
Rarely trust eShop ratings, since only people who have played it can actually rate it. Critics and forum members are where it's at.
Re: Review: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked (3DS)
Since I never played the original, this is definitely a 9 on my part. Excellent game.

Yay, better advertising. That's something this site could use.
Also, for all that is good Nintendolife needs better forums.

This is totally false. Nintendo has stated that they are fine with the current 3DS model.
