To those of you who have yet to play it: Get this game, regardless of whether you like this genre or not. I came into this game not being a huge fan of text-adventures, and it is currently tied for my favorite game on the DS.
Considering how versitile Unity is, this is definitely a win. We're going to see a lot of stuff, epecially if free stuff is allowed (Slender, please). Yeah, dealing with Nintendo will never be easy, but at the very least the concern of having to adapt to the console will be negligible.
No developer will put out a game that requires a connection between the two devices. The install base is incredibly limited, and then you have to factor in that there's no way that entire install base will buy the game anyway.
The only game that really required the use of a GBA connector on the Gamecube was Pac-Man Vs., and that was included with other games. And there were a lot more people with GBAs and Gamecubes than PSVitas and PS3s.
I love how so many people think this will be a timed exclusive when it is published by Nintendo.
Mass Effect 1 still isn't on PS3, simply because Microsoft owns the rights to it. It's the same case here.
This will be the game to get me to buy a WiiU. It shows how serious Nintendo is about their system and the hardcore when they publish something like this on their system.
I can't see this doing anything for Nintendo but good. This game looks so bad that all it will do is make others think, "I wish I was playing Pokemon".
Oh, and this doesn't look like plageurism. What they did looks legal, so stop trying to get up and arms about how this company should get sued.
He makes a good point. A lot of times motion feels unnecesarry. He isn't dissing them, he's just saying a lot of motion control hasn't really helped gaming, and I agree with that. Most games that use motion controls can't be put in the same league as Red Steel 2, Zelda: Skyward Sword, or Wii Sports Resort.
I've actaully bought 4 copies of this game. 2 for myself (one for my ultra awesome save and one to replay) and 2 for friends. I adore this game, and even though SE sucks for putting up a teaser site for a port, it's still pretty darn good.
You know guys, if there's one thing to take about OlympicCho's comments, it's this:The game is so good that even watering down the battle system doesn't stop it from being great. That shows how great this game is. So those of you who have yet to buy it, do so (preferably on DS though).
Also, I'm loving the dissapointment tag.
As long as Sakamoto gets off of it, I'd be fine. Give it the Team Ninja depth that Other M lacked and it'd be great. The aspects of the game people hated were up to Sakamoto, not Team Ninja.
Just so you guys know, it's not all rainbows and sunshine on Nintendo's digital fronts. The gamasutra article's entire first page is about many dev's negative experiences. Oh, and Nintendo has a lot of work. The eShop is better, but when compared to other services it is pretty bad. There's no real way to just browse certain things. If you want a DSiWare game, you have to search for it. There needs to be better organization to make the browsing experience better. PSN did a better job with it in 2007. We're half a decade later. Also, everything @19Robb92 said.
I'm kind of surprised by the Sunshine love in the poll. Yeah, it's a great game, but better than 3, World, and Galaxy? Anyway, Mario Galaxy is my favorite game ever, but I'm very fine with World being considered the best.
Yeah, every time a Dragon Quest game is released in Japan, the productivity level of the country is cut in half. Those numbers don't indicate that. Not even 500,000? In other news, the PSP outsells the Vita
I like it. Making it illegal doesn't change anything, it just enforces an already established rule. Under age gamers can still play games with a higher rating, as long as the parent/gaurdian sees it appropriate. Ultimately, it's up to the parent. My dad actually played video games when I was a kid, so it worked out pretty nicely.
Day 1 purchase, without question. I was going to buy the orginal, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Considering that this is the exact same game but better in every regard AND costing much less than the original, I have no choice but to buy it immediately.
I would say yes, but since they also have Pokemon, which in many regards is more successful than Mario, what with all the cards, anime, merchendise, etc. and the series uncanny ability to sell the same game twice to the same customer, I have to say no.
I don't care about the power of the system. I do care about the games coming out for it though, and the developers DO care about the power, thus making the amount of games for it go up or down depending on its power. If it isn't powerful enough, then I will care, because the developers making games for it care.
Anyone else notice that all of these are by Hutson? It makes sense that they're being removed now, due to them shutting down and everything. Doesn't matter too much to me, anyway, seeing that I already have all of these on the original Turbografx downstairs (Nectarus is a remake of Military Madness).
To people thinking they won't sell well because they're outdated: it's Pokemon. They'll sell. Very well. More people have DS's then 3DS's, and everyone with a 3DS will buy one anyway (or at least many). Look at Emerald. It came out in 2005, a full year after the release of the DS, and it sold incredibly well, over 6 million units in the U.S. alone.
I played Solotarobo, and it is not deserving of a top 3 nomination, let alone a win for best DS game. The two other nominees, Professor Layton, Radiant Historia, Pokemon; the games keep going.
So what NEW stuff is in this, aside a fresh coat of paint, music, and refined time attack system? i love Cave Story, loved it on DsiWare, but I'm not spending $40 if that's all it offers, especially considering I can already play the original on my 3DS right now. I might consider it at $20, but even that's pushing it.
I wish that Symphony was included, to show it would probably be #1. My list is actually alot different from this one (I'll omit symphony to be more even) #1 Rondo of Blood #2 Order of Ecclesia #3 Aria of Sorrow #4 Super Castlevania IV #5 Dawn of Sorrow #6 Castlevania III #7 Portrait of Ruin #8 Castlevania Haven't played the others besides Symphony of the Night, which I would put at 2nd or 1st, depending on my mood.

Re: Platinum: Without Nintendo, There Would Be No Bayonetta 2
As someone who never expected Bayonetta 2 to happen in the first place, I'm very happy for this. This will make me buy a WiiU.

Re: Feature: WiiWare Games That Bit the Dust
It really sucks that some people didn't get to play Super Meat Boy. In my eyes it is the best 2D platformer this gen, and that's saying quite a bit.

I'm dowloading this day 1. I've been really excited for it for a while.
The interview only makes me more excited for it.

Re: Tekken Producer: Working With Nintendo Offers Unique Possibilities
Sounds cool and all, but considering all of my friends that are getting this are getting it for the 360, there's no chance of me getting this on WiiU.

This lines up with their other release dates, so I'd believe it.

Re: Nintendo Download: 23rd August 2012 (North America)
All right, Metal Slug X! I've been waiting for ages for this game.
I would get the anthology, but I like Classic Controller support.

Way to screw over the people who bought the collector's edition of this game, Team Ninja...
Re: New Spy Hunter Trailer Revs Up The Action
The concepts in the trailer seem pretty well done, but those graphics aren't all that impressive. I hope that's not a bad sign.

Re: Review: F-Zero Maximum Velocity (3DS Virtual Console / Game Boy Advance)
In what world is the GBA a 32 bit machine? I usually think of Playstation or Saturn when it comes to that. I'd consider it to be more 16-bit.

Why the heck is Luigi's Mansion on this? SOOO many better games than that.

Re: Feature: Castlevania - The Terrifying Ten
I wish that Symphony was included, to show it would probably be #1. My list is actually alot different from this one (I'll omit symphony to be more even)
#1 Rondo of Blood
#2 Order of Ecclesia
#3 Aria of Sorrow
#4 Super Castlevania IV
#5 Dawn of Sorrow
#6 Castlevania III
#7 Portrait of Ruin
#8 Castlevania
Haven't played the others besides Symphony of the Night, which I would put at 2nd or 1st, depending on my mood.
