Re: It Is Now Illegal To Sell Unauthorised Game Keys In Japan, Save File Editors Also Banned

I can get the last two points, since someone it's profiting from another's work in a way (though I have some issues with them still). But the first one is just baffling if I bought a game i can do whatever I want with it. If I want to mess with my save file it's up to me as long as is not messing with other people online . The other issue is that this is unenforceable, how will anyone know if i get a level 100 shiny Mewtwo with perfect IVs and never use it online?

This seems like law makers overreaching to fix another problem because they don't really understand the core topic. My guess is that they want to try and stop data mining.

@Preposterous Oh that! I see what you mean now. I was just thinking about the RPG part not the LifeSim parts.

When I started P5 that kind of threw me off and I thought I wouldn't like the game because of that. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't hinder the gameplay as much as I had expected. I will say that it gets a little annoying when you want to do something and run out of time but that's just how this kind of Visual Novel/LifeSim games work otherwise you could do everything in one day and then where's the fun in that? I do get that's not for everyone though. Also the thing with the cat it is stupid I have no idea why they did that and it's definitely something I consider a flaw in an otherwise amazing game.

Anyway I would say that if your hesitance comes from these mechanics then don't worry about them. The core RPG mechanics give (i.e. dungeons, boss battle) you get unlimited time. The Visual Novel aspects get you mostly optional rewards (i say mostly because I honestly don't remember if there are any that are required).

If you liked XC2 like your previous comment suggested then I would suggest trying out the game if you have the chance. It was the same kind of plot twist that make you go "WHAT?!" but the RPG mechanic are very different so it makes the two very different JRPG. Enough that IMO is worth playing both.

@Preposterous I'm sorry but when is this lack of control supposed to happen? I'm having a hard time thinking of any moment where that happens. The only place I can think that might be the case is during cut scenes but that happens after you defeat the enemy like any other turn based RPG.

@UmbreonsPapa I think the issue is with adapting existing games. I'm not sure they can capture the magic of Ocarina Of Time for example the same way the game did IMO. I actually hope they go for an original story alluded in the lore like a prequel to Breath of the Wild or something Link did after Termina for example.

As for the voice acting I could go either way really, it would be interesting if Link was mute and used sign language though that might be complicated to animate (I hope it's animated and not live action). I don't think there's a lot of heroes in media that have a physical disability.
