This looks like a really great controller, and I've been in the market for a Classic Controller recently so I can revisit a few Virtual Console games... However, I still think the Hori Battle Pad might be a better option, and that Pikachu edition Battle Pad is right up my street.

Is there an official release date for this yet? I know it's 'November 2014', but I am yet to see anything more specific.

Super Mario World is awesome, but Super Mario Bros. 3 is the game that set the template for so many future iterations in the Super Mario series (New Super Mario Bros, etc.) and the 2D platforming genre as a whole, so I'd have to go with Super Mario Bros. 3.

Great news. However, it's a shame that North America will be getting the game significantly earlier than Europe.

Exactly the score I was predicting. I'll buy it for the Zelda nostalgia factor, but I'll wait for the price to drop a little before I do.

These are awesome, but I'm trying to stay all digital with my 3DS.

Just finished playing through Mega Man X (which was incredible), so these will be a welcome addition to my gaming library.

I can't get over how cheap and nasty these controllers look. I'll be sticking with the official GameCube controllers.

System-wide achievements and cross-buy functionality are an absolute must.

Digital games are already ludicrously expensive on the eShop, and I refuse to buy the same game twice just so I can play it on both of my Nintendo systems.

I don't see Nintendo putting much effort into achievements any time soon, but it really does leave a gaping whole in the Wii U's arsenal.

... And a few GameCube VC titles would be nice.

This reads like one of those April Fool's Day articles... I wish it was.

I'm still holding out for an officially redesigned Pro Controller, although I doubt we'll ever see one.

Incredible value for a system of this quality. It's just sad to see retailers having to slash costs in order to shift units.

Unfortunately I think they've missed the boat with this service. Considering that the majority of the UK is served by Rupert Murdoch's BSkyB, I think that it may be too hard to successfully launch something like this without some major deals being made, some deals that I just can't see Nintendo making.

Eternal Darkness... Now that's a game I would like to see on the Wii U virtual console.

Really wish Nintendo would up the pace of VC releases, as the collection so far is very sparse and doesn't feature a single N64 titles.

There will always be something else worthy of my stars, it's just a case of waiting for the right thing.

This diorama was cool, but I preferred the previous one with multiple characters.

I have 5250 stars. Hopefully it'll still be about when I finally reach the 7000 stars mark, but I'm not holding my breath.

I was planning on picking up Rayman Legends anyway, so this is perfect news. ZombiU for £7.99 is also a no-brainer. Sure, the game has its flaws, but at that price it's definitely worthy of a place on your system.

I'm not overly hyped about this game, but I may still give it a go after the vast amount of praise it has received from the gaming press.

I'm hoping for some exciting new games to be announced, but I'm not holding my breath.

I expect this will be a Mario Kart 8 and Donkey Kong announcement.

I missed the first one, so will definitely be attending one of these shows.

I can see Wii U sales rising exponentially as soon as this and Super Smash Bros hit the market.

I'm saving this one for when I have some time off over Christmas; I find games are always more fun when associated with a particular time of the year.

Can't wait to dive into this one.

@Fazermint I never said I was mad... I love Nintendo and couldn't care less whether they're selling systems as long as I'm personally enjoying the games they're making.

The fact is that there is a lot of doom and gloom surrounding Nintendo's Wii U system at the moment (rightly or wrongly), and they had an opportunity to address some of the issues but didn't take it.

Looking forward to diving back into A Link to the Past once I've finished A Link Between Worlds, but it's a real shame that Nintendo seem reluctant to release SNES games on the 3DS' Virtual Console.

I'm a lifelong Nintendo fan and will finally be picking up a Wii-U in the next week or two. My main issue is not with the console, it's with the fact that Nintendo seemed to stop talking to me... I was their advocate for years, but in an attempt to broaden their fan base they kind of put everyone else on the back burner.

I still love Nintendo, and the 3DS is far and away my favourite console on the market at the moment, I just wish Nintendo would try a little harder to actively bring people like myself back into their plans.

Mario Golf and Mario Tennis have always been solid arcade sports games. Glad to see this making its way to 3DS.

Best news to come out of today's Nintendo Direct.

I sold my Wii a while ago so never got around to playing the Wii version, so I will definitely be picking this one up.
