Re: Best Buy Lists Super Mario 3D World For Nintendo Switch, But We're Not So Sure

I still believe Metroid Prime Trilogy is a thing. I also believe that it is complete and ready to go, as previous rumors have suggested. However, it is absolutely not going to be announced until the next time news is given on Metroid Prime 4. They go hand-in-hand and will not be separate announcements.

MP4 is still a long ways off and the trilogy will be meant to tide Metroid fans over and also bring in new fans. I would expect them to release the trilogy 6 months to one year before MP4. And that time has yet to come.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The Nintendo Direct Mini?

jagetron

I'll say it is notable that Nintendo is at least categorizing this as a "mini" direct themselves. However, I'm now pretty convinced that they don't have any major new 1st party title(s) to be released this holiday season. If they did, why would they wait until June to announce them? Keep them a complete secret until months before their release? Makes no since and doesn't follow their trends the past few years.

Agreed, I played both of the games on the DS when I was a kid and loved them, so addictive. I spent way more hours playing spectrobes than I'd like to admit. I'm all for Pokemon getting as much competition as possible, anything that will pressure Nintendo to bring the game to a higher standard is a good thing.

Re: There Are "No Plans" To Bring The Full Pokédex To Pokémon Sword And Shield, And Future Games Will Follow Suit

jagetron

I agree with this. I would rather have a smaller Pokedex that is tailored/curated for that region than trying to cram a thousand Pokemon into the game. IMO there should never have been as many Pokemon as there are now. There should have just been 30-60 new Pokemon each generation- like a booster pack to the existing number. If that were the case, we'd never be having this issue. But adding 150 or 130 is just ridiculous. They should be focusing more on adding more content to the games and improving existing features.

@Baker1000
minimum effort by:
-Continuing to remove features/gameplay elements from previous entries for no good reason.

  • Is technically/graphically substandard compared to many other switch games. 30 fps at 720p isn't impressive when so many better looking switch games run better. I'm not a huge stickler on graphics, but if a game looks bad, it looks bad. Sword and shield just look out of place on the switch. Looks like something between a gamecube and wii game.
  • I'd like to be optimistic about the wild area, but I can't help but to believe that it will be a shallow area with not much to do besides watching pokemon pop in and out of existence. Ill believe otherwise when I see it.
I do not get the impression that this is a console quality rpg. It may surprisingly be, but that's not what Nintendo has shown/sold it as so far. This looks like a handheld game quality game being sold for 60 bucks. I don't believe Im wrong to want a pokemon game that features a more immersive world with more content. The developers have so much to draw from, two decades of anime, manga, games, spinoffs, card games, movies, etc. But they don't take advantage of it in my opinion.

Re: Video: What We Expect To See From Nintendo At E3 2019

jagetron

Development of Metroid Prime 4 was stated to have been entirely scrapped with the plan of it being rebooted by Retro Studios, there is zero chance that it will be shown at E3 this year. What we can hope for is a Metroid Prime Trilogy that is more than just a bare bones port of the Wii version. Also would be a side-scrolling Metroid game. I think both are fairly likely at least at some point, more so the former.

Re: Monster Hunter 4 Screenshots Stomp Into View

jagetron

to be honest, the graphics look worse the mh3g. and ive said that ever since the first trailer. i know it probably isnt, and when it comes out they will be atleast just as good. the monsters look good, but they just look funny walking around in an environment that isnt anywhere close.
