This really needs to be a cross buy game that works on the 3DS. I'm not playing GBA games on the big screen, and I'm certainly not buying them to play in that format. I have the GBA cartridge and would play on the Cube's GBA player if I wanted to!
I'd like to see the Rogue Squadron games back on the list, please. A remade sequel would be better than a simple remake, as the GOG release of RS3D showed how much this game has aged, but it's still fun.
F-Zero X and SM64 would be nice, but unlike Rogue Squadron, they look and play great in emulation (Nvidia Shield!) so it feels not-urgent to me to see them on 3DS.
I love the way the internet does away with stupid things like artificial scarcity. Now anyone who wants to play these games can do so at a reasonable price.
It's not like the scalpers are adding any value by jacking up the price of a "rare" piece of plastic. They didn't help create the game, and that extra money doesn't do anything for Nintendo.
It's very cute, and the price is right for something with a real stick and buttons, a telescoping head, and a cartridge slot.
I'm finally awakening to the reality that pretty much anything can run NES games, including those $50 Windows tablets at MicroCenter and certainly any phone with a touch screen. Too many years (and too long ago) spent in dingy arcades on giant cabinets make me think that this moldy old tech is somehow sacred!
These are great games at great prices. They're from the time I pretty much stopped buying Wii games, so I'm happy to grab all three at such a nice discount.
@sakura Leaving the charger out also allows them to ship the same package all around the world, without needing to customize it for the electrical standards of the market country. And yet they have region lockout.
I want to see an eshop update to Intellivision Lives. I think that in the bad old DSi store days, it was rejected for looking too old and stinking up the store, and possibly something about not wanting emulators other than Nintendo's own. I'd love for it to make a return.
I would like to see a return to this series, but it was probably too soon at the time. I can imagine the reviews ripping apart the janky waggle controls and the overly-familiar set pieces from the previous two games.
I'm ready for this one as well — the DSi version flew under my radar but I really like this kind of game. It's the closet we're likely to get to a portable Rogue Squadron.
@HeroOfCybertron Probably Capcom, and probably for financial reasons. Maybe just maybe they're finding that selling v.3 of an arcade fighting game for $40/unit doesn't fly in this market. In other words, they're probably shrinking out of desperation, not just greed or stupidity. All speculation on my part but that's what internet comments are all about.
When I think of 3DS and Vita, I think Nintendo, Sony, and Indie games. Maybe a little Ubisoft since they're on everything. I can't recall any big name portable EA games since their licensed tie-ins to The Lord of the Rings. I wouldn't think that their $30 Plants vs. Zombies packages did well in sales.
It's probably simpler (and therefore cheaper, which means more profitable) for them to develop for mobile. Their driving games have been pretty fun and they have Popcap and Bioware. I don't hate them as much as many people do. Unlike many other game studios, at least they are still in business, and much of that is probably because of what we see as duck moves.
Nintendo's controller support is a confusing mess of extra crap to lose, break, and charge. It's nice that they're supporting the old controllers, but without a rerelease of the (excellent) Wavebird, this just adds a mess of cords to the otherwise nicely wireless Wii U console. Adding in these retro things now is similar to supporting the Gameboy Link Cable accessory.
Of course, if they remake the Rogue Squadron games in HD, I'll forgive them for adding so much crap to my game drawer.
I wish Super Mario Bros 3 were "cross buy" like Sony or Apple (buy once, play on Wii U and 3DS) but I guess we can't have that ... at least I get the Wii U for a sharp discount since I have the Wii Virtual Console version, right?
Very excited for this. I wish they hadn't pooched the release of Outrun 2006 (no US PS3 version, pulled Steam version, no digital PSP release) but M2 Outrun on 3DS could redeem them. Given the pattern of the last batch, maybe the west will see an autumn release?
This is really bizarre ... why would anyone want ANY of those portable games on a big screen? They already look silly-bad on the 3DS XL, and that's still pretty tiny.
If these games were to be remade completely, maybe I'd be interested, but as they are? I'd prefer to keep them portable. Add SNES and N64 games to the 3DS while you're at it.
I would love a portable version of this game, or maybe one of its many sequels. Tekken and Street Fighter are already on everything, why not VF? It's criminal that this hasn't happened already.
Until then, Dead or Alive is a decent substitute, some technical fighting with a clean control system. The old Saturn version was great. The current iteration of Dead or Alive is brilliant on Vita and not too shabby on 3DS.
While we're asking, how come Dead or Alive and Tekken aren't digital downloads on the eShop in North America? I'd buy them again ...

Re: Bandai Namco Is Opening Up Its Classic IP To Domestic Creators
This is smart, and a much more sensible approach than what Atari is doing with Llamasoft's Tempest homage.
I just hope they don't go after unauthorized "clones" like Chillaxian.
Re: Feature: Ten Must-Play Games for the Nintendo 3DS
I'm still bummed that we never got a list-worthy Star Wars game on this system. Derp.

Re: Aperion Cyberstorm is Blasting Its Way to the Wii U eShop Soon
I was hoping for the old Mac game, Apeiron, a wacky Centipede type thing that hasn't been seen in 20 years. Sad face.

Re: New Nintendo 3DS Release Date Confirmed for 13th February
I guess none of this should come as a surprise.
None of the other new 3DS units in other countries came with a power adapter. The US got it with the 3DS XL but no one else did.
The smaller (non-XL) 3DS doesn't really fit in a pocket any better than the big one.
I'm going to stick with my red XL. It would be nice to have a faster OS, but it still works great once a game is launched.

Re: Review: Thorium Wars: Attack of the Skyfighter (3DS eShop)
I guess this is as close to Rogue Squadron 3D as we are going to get? Sigh, okay I'll take it.
Re: Talking Point: The Argument For And Against Retro Flash Carts
Flash cartridges are good. Artificial scarcity is bad.

Re: OutRun Confirmed As The Next 3D Classic Racing to Japan
Such a great game. Am I correct in thinking this is "only" the second 3D remake, the first being the 3D glasses version on the Master System?
