So much PS2 hate for literally no reason in this article when it's objectively one of the best game console of all time. This is like revisionist history lol. I don't get why it's almost universally making fun of Sony for reporting official numbers lol. Sony stopped reporting sales a year before the thing was discontinued so it's not a dumb idea that it sold 5 million more units in that year.
Also people outright calling a console like the PS2 bad is so strange, because it had all the games that a beloved console like GameCube had and then many more. It has some of the best games of all time on it. So strange to see people calling it bad here. I'm just glad to finally have official finalized sale numbers.
@heisnbrg You cannot buy them from Nintendo anymore, and unless they are going to release them again for purchase (not rental) then there is no difference between buying a used copy and downloading the rom. The only thing that buying a used copy does is line the pockets of a greedy scalper selling the games for far more than they are worth, and nothing is stolen when downloading the rom because Nintendo does not sell these anymore and thus you are not able to steal the game from them.
To everyone saying the servers to update and patch this exploit are gone, you are incorrect. Nintendo shut down the ability to purchase new items from the eShop and they shut down the ability to play online. The eShop and update servers still exist. They could push an update for any game they want, or the entire system. Accounts still exist, and so do servers to download things. I don't think they will push an update, but they absolutely could if they wanted to.
@GravyThief To clarify, you are incorrect about there not being a way to reverse the process. You can remove CFW and return your 3DS to stock if you want, though I don't see much of a point in doing that. As long as you made a backup of your console early into the process then it should be fine. In addition to that, I'm not sure when you last looked into it but these days installing it is a simple process that takes like 10-15 minutes. In any case, good luck with your future 3DS playing!
I can't believe people are actually excited for this when we know literally nothing about it. They never showed the game at all, they showed a dumb CG trailer with no details at all. I want a good Sonic game, but we literally know nothing about this game but people are pretending like we know a ton.
Just a reminder that even the PS2 versions would be better than a Cloud version. The Final Mix releases were on PS2 in Japan and are available with an English fan translation and can be easily emulated, so don't support this. They remove the whole point of them being on the Switch in the first place by requiring an internet connection to work at all.
Just want to remind everyone that there is already an officially licensed Sega Genesis controller on the market for $35 that is wireless bluetooth, and works on the PC, Switch, and the original Genesis. Also it has the 6 buttons instead of the three on this one. It's available on Amazon from Retro Bit, and it doesn't require a Switch Online subscription to purchase.
@Meteoroid Hacking the Wii Mini is especially good to bring back basically every feature it lacks. Online connectivity is a big advantage to modding a Wii Mini.
I would like to let you know that this article is 2 years too late. The Wii Mini was modded in 2019, and it was a big deal at the time. Now it's not so big a deal because of everything people have been doing with it for 2 years. Guess you just saw the video and decided to get some clicks off it though.

@NielsNL You just download the update like you would for any other 3DS game.
